Review Ciccio Ristorante - Ottawa

Ciccio... a restaurant that’s been in Ottawa for 45 years and I just recently discovered this gem!! We were greeted at the door by the manager and seated right away. The decor and colours create a very lovely atmosphere for the restaurant. We tried multiple items on the menu and most of it was perfect! The Caprese salad could use a bit of dressing and a stronger cheese. Other than that, everything else was a delight. The lasagna is one of the best I’ve ever had! Would highly recommend it if you visit Ciccio! The desserts were both fantastic that I couldn’t decide which one I liked better 😅 I had a wonderful experience at Ciccio and will definitely be a returning customer 😊

Loved dinner at this restaurant. Delicious and reasonably priced food and quiet atmosphere. Especially loved home-made bread - I have never tasted such delicious bread. The service was fabulous - the gentleman serving our table saw how we loved the bread and kindly gave us a couple of breads to take home. Such a kind gesture! Thank you!

Only giving 3 stars based on only the service, as the food was great. Problem with the service is that the waitress starting removing our plates and cutlery before we where all done, and the person that was not done she asked if she was. being that she removed all our desert cutlery we basically decided to leave without. The food is very good.

In our adventure of trying new restaurants this one was one of the good ones in the area, service was really friendly and helpful. Respectful of allergies, Food was amazing everyone was sharing each other’s food cause it was so good you wanted them to taste it too and the house wine very good!

Ciccio is a classic Italian restaurant. Friendly, prompt service and great dishes. I am not giving it 5 stars yet because I want to try more of their meals before I do that. So far so great, we'll definitely be back.

We had an excellent meal last night at Ciccio. I had the veg penne with an arrabiata sauce, and Roch had the linguine pescatore which had huge scallops and shrimp - and the plate was rimmed with at least a dozen and a half mussels. I wish we'd taken a picture to share! And our food was not too salty which we really appreciated. Our server Tia was exceptional - attentive and funny. We will be back!

Went for my mom’s birthday dinner and she said the veal marsala is the best she’s ever had. The chicken parmigiana and the carbonara were also quite good. Amazing crème brûlée! Probably the best thing on the menu. Friendly staff.

I and a friend had a pleasant meal at this popular restaurant. It has a patio and a lovely formal dining room with white table cloths and excellent service. We had carpaccio as a starter which was wonderful . They also had lovely home baked small French loaf for dipping in olive oil and tomato sauce mixture. It was delicious too. I ordered a kir which was too sweet. Ideally it is Bout 9 parts white wine and 1 part crème de cassis but it tasted like 50-50. I sipped it but left half at the end. I ordered the pan seared trout. Unfortunately it was a large but thin piece of what must have been a farmed trout and could have been frozen. It was tasty but the texture was a bit dry and it seemed over cooked. I didn’t enjoy the skin! But the side of home made pasta was really good! I ordered linguini and got spaghetti. But oh well....the sauce was good! My friend’s lasagna was of excellent flavour though the texture was a little too soft. Perhaps we are not used to home made pasta?! I had some great meals here in the past and will come back. But this was not one of them.

April 10,2019 at 5.30 PM . I decided to make a reservation at Ciccios restaurant to celebrate my granddaughter birthday 2 children 4 adults. Service was incredible bad, the waiter didn't have any idea about meal protocol and service very slow. Usually in a Italian restaurant they put some olives, bread etc. here nothing just a flat dish with oil and hot chilly peppers. The main orders were chicken, cannelloni, lasagna and linguini pescatore. My linguini pescatore was very luke warm , the mussels 100 % cold and the dish itself room temperature. I touch the rest of the dishes and all of them were cold. After calling the waiter he brought me back the same dish warmer and of course the linguini were more like mash linguini. Did the have a chef or a cook in charge of the kitchen or have some one with Zero experience working inside. My advise , if you want to have a good Italian meal and a good time. Do Not Go to Ciccios in Preston St. Ottawa . By the way music was horrible with an italian tenor of the fourties. I have no idea from where this restaurant got good reviews ?????

Three of us had a quick.... well not so quick as we lingered longer than planned .... lunch. Great food. Great sevice. Great ambiance. We all had the special of the day: chicken a bit like saltimbocca, really fresh tender chicken breast with prosciutto and cheese and grilled veggies. Mushrooms, tomatoes etc . Fresh fresh salad! And lovely home made bread and amaretto ice cream.
One of the best lunches in a long while.

Went to Ciccio last night with friends. Veal Saltimbocca was superb. At the risk of being a tad picky, I would have like a green vegetable to add colour to the presentation. That aside, all four of us really enjoyed our meals and we made sure the chef was told of our appreciation. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It was my first visit and my partner and I will definitely return.

Never disappoints. Have been several times, have been to most of the Italian places in Ottawa and Ciccio is one of the better ones. Great veal.

Wonderful taste. I had lunch and have seldom had food so beautifully coordinated and bsalanced in taste. Service was fine but not exceptional.

Disapointing. Went a few times since the renovations, looks very nice but the food isn't at all as good as before. We were 6 usuals at one time and we were all very disapointed.. Went back and it was as bad, not as tasty and presentation not appealing. Sorry but the place isn't full like in the old days.

We go there for Sue.. This is a great little Italian restaurant. There is a pleasant atmosphere and the food is quite good and reasonably priced. What makes it special is the waitress, Sue treats you like family and you soon discover that she treats everyone like they are special. Nice to see professional service still exists.

Outstanding!. This was not our first visit to Ciccios - we have always enjoyed this restaurant. We were greeted promptly and were given a nice table near the window, so it was very private. We absolutely enjoyed our meals (salmon, chicken - the one with the cognac and artichoke, and veal marsala). The service was outstanding: friendly, prompt and efficient (thanks, Sue!). It made for a memorable evening. We'll most certainly come back! So, see you later, Sue...

Not going back. I went there for Fri lunch and was quite disappointed. It was all very dated and uninspiring. I had veal with spaghetti and not only was it bland, but also overpriced for the size of the meal. I had tree little slices of veal swimming in something that tasted like nothing, definitely not a sambuca sauce. Spaghetti seemed to be covered in the ready made pasta sauce. My companion had cannelloni and they were slightly burnt. Bread was just as basic, I could have picked up better meal at the grocery store.
Service was, well, he brought food....he dropped a butter on the floor, picked it up and put it back on the plate; do I need to say more?
