I've been a few times. They never disappoint. It's hard rating Thai food because there are so many good places. This one is in my top 3 in Ottawa. Very good food!
As an Chinese international student, my friend and me love this place, the kao pad (fired rice with chicken or pork or beef)they made is even better than Chinese restaurant here, the curry here is a little sweet but it taste wonderful! The delivery is not make me wait too long
A little gem in Ottawa. Everyone who I've recommended this place to and who I've gone with have absolutely loved this place. The dishes never disappoint, and the atmosphere and restaurant itself are gorgeous. The service is good, and the food presentation is always gorgeous and artistic.
Love Love Love!!!!. Excellent food matched by stunning presentation. Service was great, friendly staff in an intimate comfortable setting. Will certainly be going back soon!
Incredible. We had the green curry and chefs special served in a coconut. They were both so good we stuffed ourselves and ate every little bit then scraped the bowls. I would definitely go again.
Amazing. Probably the best Thai food that I have ever had. The shrimp pad Thai and red curry were amazing, very good green curry, green mango salad and eggplant salad. Fast service.
Brown curry my favorite. Love the brown curry, just wish they had a larger delivery area.
Loved it. I tried this restaurant on Ottawa visit, and found the food delicious and satisfying. The service is attentive and so is the ambience. The food is without doubt probably the best Thai I've had (it was better than what I've had here in GTA).
My wife and I are vegetarians and enjoyed the Vegetarian options in starters as well as the main course.
Incredible!. Incredible food, every time! The presentation is very unique and the food is some of the best Thai in Ottawa in my opinion. I frequent this resto and highly recommend it. Food is always fresh and of the highest quality and the biggest surprise is the bill at the end, this place is cheap!!
Have to try :). This was by far the best Thai I've in Ottawa. I ordered the seafood pad see-ew and the flavour was so good, I didn't want to stop eating. Also, when the little elephant beside the item is blowing fire out of its trunk its SPICY! My boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed his meal. The rice noodles were cooked perfectly and the decorative carvings of elephants and flowers were beautiful and made the meal that much more special. Will definitely come again.
Yum. This restaurant is delicious although i did find the Pad Thai dry but everything else was absolutely deelicious. I would like to add that the carvings are adorable.
Great atmosphere. Had veggie spring rolls as an appetizer, and they were hot and crispy and delicious! The noodle dish I had was tasty and spicy but too greasy. I would still return, the menu looks promising!
Been there several times and I haven't had a bad experience yet. It may not look like much from the outside but this humble little restaurant has some fantastic food and service
Wonderful food. Attentive service. Quite impressed.
Wow, presentation and plating effort is off the chart. Food is good and much attempt is paid to keeping things authentic. I have no idea what the non-believer are complaining about. Almost made me not go and miss out on a fabulous meal. Oh guys ... This place will charm all the ladies as the cute and beautifully decorated dish comes out. I can't believe I didn't know of this place after 10 years in Ottawa. Girls really dig this place, too bad I'm not single. Sad face.
Can't wait 'till our next visit. Went there with the fam this weekend and we had a really good time! We enjoyed all our selections, especially the Pad Thai! Their dishes were so filling and full of flavour. The carved flowers and elephant decorations made their dishes even more pleasant and cute! The service was great and attentive but not overly attentive that it will annoys you lol We will definitely go back!
Great restaurant. My whole family loves this restaurant and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Thai food, Have eaten in many restaurants all over the world including Singapore but this is definitely a great place and value for money.
Favourite Place. I live WAY out in the country, and I will make the hour drive to visit Aiyara. It's actually the only place I will go to, specifically for their chicken pad thai. Authentic, traditional. The curry chicken is also outstanding. The atmosphere here is cosy and presentation (with the carved vegetables) shows how much work and dedication they have for their food. A++
Love the food, decor and "spa-like" relaxed atmosphere. We shared vegetable spring rolls and chicken skewers with peanut sauce, and they were excellent! Had the pa-naang with chicken (which they accomodated for me because I don't eat peppers). Food was delicious and plate presentations were beautiful. It's in a odd location, but worth the detour.
A favourite. This was the first restaurant in Ottawa we went to when we moved here, and have returned many times since.
The food tastes great, and they have excellent presentation including carved vegetables. We've had many different menu items.
Great spot for the location. This was such a little hidden Thai palace. The decor is very bright and traditional. The food was excellent and the presentation was very sweet. Great place to eat in the area.
Favorite Ottawa Restaurant. | go for lunch quite often, I always tell myself that I'm going to try something new but I always order the Kao Gra Prow Ta-Lay...LS14 because it's just soooo good.
They Saved My Night.. My lovely girlfriend was visiting for the weekend, and she had never had Thai food before; so I began looking for an authentic Thai restaurant at which to cap off the weekend with a nice meal. The reviews for Aiyara were very good, so I chose to go there for our nice evening out.
It turns out that I had grossly underestimated how long it takes to get from Centretown to 1590 Walkley, so we finally walked in at 8:30-half an hour before close on Sundays. I asked whether they preferred we just order take out, but the nice young lady told us it would be enough time.
The food was brought quickly and was fantastic. I am by no means a Thai food expert, but I've had my fair share of curries and pad thai, and theirs were very flavourful and aromatic. Half an hour-as it turns out and as we had thought-was not nearly enough time, but here's how they handled it:
When 9:00 rolled around, they didn't bat an eyelash. They calmly refilled our waters throughout the whole meal, as they worked away at tidying the restaurant and getting the place closed up. What's more is that when we had our last bites at around 9:25, the server came by to clear our plates and then asked genuinely whether we would have liked anything else.
They were very classy in making us feel comfortable despite my mistake of not giving ourselves enough time, and letting us stay and eat, alone in the nicely decorated restaurant, just added to the intimacy of our dinner.
Honestly, the entire experience was so impressive that I had to write a review and to send my sincere recommendation to anybody who is looking for a nice night out with very good Thai food. These people get it, and it saved what could have been a very disappointing evening for a young guy hoping to impress his special someone.
Thank you!
Amazing. Best thai in Ottawa, 'nuff said. Location is a bit out of the way but well worth the commute!
Nice place, cozy deco, good smile. Lunch special is the best, the beef str fry with rice and basil is excellent. Make sure u make reservation though, place is packed at lunch time.
Great food and accomodating staff! Six thumbs up from the three of us.
Delicious, flavourful food!. I have been to this restaurant a number of times. Although it is small and doesn't look like a fancy restaurant from the outside, it is absolutely amazing. I love the elephant plates/accessories, and the food is the most flavourful you will find in Ottawa. The service is always great, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Been many times and food is always delicious and consistent. Great atmosphere and vegetable and fruit carvings.
First time going here and it was delicious. Ordered the pai Thai and a seafood stir fry. The presentation was exception and great detail goes into the layout. You would not this from the location. We went off of other reviews and they were right about this restaurant.
Best Thai food in town. Very friendly service. Pleasant and peaceful atmosphere
Delicious!. I eat here weekly. Enough said.
But seriously, the food is delightful, the ambiance is relaxed and pleasant, and the presentation is a cut above any other Thai restaurant in the city.
Highly recommended, but do make a reservation as it gets pretty busy!
Favourite dish: Duck special (mmmm...)
This place was really amazing the the food was really really good, and the way the have it served and presented on the plate is beautiful, as well the prices were not to bad and affordable, I would definatly recommend this restaurant
I have dreams about Aiyara. They have a brown coconut curry with beef and potatoes that is to DIE for. I have literally had dreams about it.
Their presentation is superior to every other Thai restaurant in town. Each dish comes with a wonderfully carved vegetable usually in the shape of a bird, elephant or flower. It is a lovely place and I am sure you will enjoy it.
Very simple: you HAVE to try this restaurant! The food is delicious, the service is impeccable and the prices are well under what you would expect. I will definitely be going back and telling my friends!
Oh yeah to Aiyara. We always look forward to this monthly thai treat. The portions are generous and always packed with vegetables and meat. The appetizers are good and the soups, with or without coconut milk, are satisfying. All the curries are delicious and not watered down . The mango salad is a fav of my wife. Some of the dishes can be a bit too oily. Just ask them to go easy on the grease and the staff are more than willing to accomodate.
A real find!. You'll be suprised at the atmosphere and the food. Don't let the strip-mall location deter you. With so many run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurants around, it's great to have a place that offers fresh food, great variety (including vegetarian dishes), a pleasant atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Menu suggestions -- try the Pad Woon Sen (traditional stir-fried vermicelli noodles with chicken, pork or beef), and the Chu Chee Goong (dried red curry with shrimp in coconut milk).
Pad thai was a bit too saucy but ingredients were fresh, very tasty and service super quick for lunch.
It is a hidden Thai gem. Small authentic Thai food. You the décoré the place all offer a unique experience. The prices are really good the food is amazing. The service is good too. It is small you better reserve in advance. It is off walkley rd in a small plaza kinda hidden. 18 min from downtown Ottawa. I recommend this place.
Love this place! Authentic Thai food, quick friendly service, gorgeous authentic decor and very good prices!
This is a fantastic hidden gem. The dine in is quiet and intimate but the staff is friendly and warm.
The pineapple fried rice is divine and served in a pineapple.
You will have left overs which won’t last very long. The food is definitely worth a trip
Hands down my favourite Thai place. Been going here about 14+ years and has never been bad. So glad to be able to share this treasure with my family now who thankfully all love it too.
Thank you for being such a consistent and amazing place to dine or takeout from.
Amazing food and the service is friendly and fast. The value for the quality and quantity is unmatched. Definitely worth a try if you love Thai food and are in the area.
The food here is delicious. I regularly eat lunch here, and my favorite dish is green curry chicken. It is bybfar one of the best to be found in the city. The service is good, and the server are attentive and kind.
