Didn't expect to find this little gem. We received a complimentary soup that was delicious and I loved the chicken thai basil stir fry that I ordered. Only two servers for the whole restaurant and I think they managed to handle the busy lunch service. Great customer service and great price..
BEST PAD THAI IN OTTAWA.
But seriously though, great portions and excellent service at a fair price. Have yet to have a poor experience with them and I have been going here for years while trying something new off their menu almost every time.
I was pleasantly surprised by this little hole in the wall. Tucked into the mall you have to really be looking or you will miss it. I ordered vegetable spring rolls and the lunch special pad king with soup. The soup was nice. Spring rolls and sauce were good and the pad king was amazing.
One of my favourite Thai restaurants in Ottawa. Always delicious, we often order the pad thai, green and red curry and the eggplant with shrimp. Too bad they don't do delivery or skip the dishes, always have to go pick up the food.
Great place! We were here for lunch today and while it was empty when we arrived, the place was pretty packed when we left. We ordered a teapot of lemongrass tea for the table which was aromatic and so flavourful! We also shared an appetizer of Satay, comprised of 4 marinated chicken skewers with a lovely peanut sauce. I decided on a vegetarian stir fry from the lunch menu with came with a small chicken soup and rice. The veggies were coated in a light garlic sauce and were very enjoyable. Overall, great place for a sit down dinner.
My girlfriends and I keep going back to Sala Thai when we have a craving for Thai food. Service is always good, presentation is beautiful and the food is excellent.
Very good Thai food. Their lunch specials are all good value. For around 11.00$ we got a refreshing small bowl of soup with mushrooms and veggies and a generous serving of mixed seafood (Pad Yod Koa Pod) on rice. The dish was a feast to the eye with a small radish cut into a shape of s tiny mouse or a flower! The food was not spicy and I do like spice so I asked for their home made hit sauce. Very pleasant lunch! Highly recommended.
Delicious food and such nice people. We love going here... huge portions and really good food.
Maria is so nice too! They really care about their customers.
A gem!. The food is amazing and the service excellent.
We had a lovely evening at the Sala Thai and now have a new favourite Thai restaurant.
Extraordinary service, clean, best food...
Every dish is spot on and delicious. The restaurant is nice, mellow and quiet. Highly recommended
Will be back.. Very inviting, lighthearted service, combined with similarly warm, spicy Thai eats. My pad thai was excellent, as was the mushroom soup included in the lunch special. The lemongrass tea was a nice compliment. My six dining companions all enjoyed their meals as well.
It's also helpful that they clearly annotate the spiciness level of each dish, out of four, and allow you to customize any of them. Although I'm not a huge spice fiend, for those of you who believe THE SPICE MUST FLOW, you may want to ask for your dishes at four stars. My dining companions who requested four stars ("intolerably hot" as described by the menu) said that, while pleasantly hot, it was nowhere near close to the advertised, suicidal level of heat.
Wonderful thai food. The Pad Thai and the Gang Garee Gai are easily some of the best Ottawa has to offer. I personally like my Pad Thai saucy and spicy so if you do too this is the place for you. Also the service is amazing with friendly staff that welcome you into their family and remember your name.
After experiencing my first thai red curry ever here (#41 I think, pa nang), years later I still have yet to find one that tops this one. I have tried bites of other dishes here but the red curry is so good I can't bring myself to order anything else. #1 in Ottawa!
Excellent food! I recommend #47. I get takeout here several times a month, it is that good.
Really, very food, and decent price. Id recommend to anyone
This place is amazing. Order # 26!
Best thai food in Ottawa. Me and my husband discovered this place about a year ago and absolutely love it. We have tried many different thai restaurants in the area, and this is by far the best we have had. Every dish we have tried has been delicious. We introduced friends to this place and they were all very impressed by the quality of their dishes. Our food always arrives very quickly and the service is excellent. If you are looking for a new place to try and want good service, I stronly recommend Sala Thai. You will not be disappointed!
Although it might not look like much from the outside, this is one of the best Thai restaurants in Ottawa. Their Gang Garee Gai is simply the best. Service is always good and it's reasonably priced, especially for lunch.

Love the place just odnt liek their hours. for dinner they only open at 5pm.. I liek tio pick up my food at 4:30 and eat it when i get home so if they could open at 4 it would be better
I dont understand why at lunch you get the free soup but not at dinner?
anyhow love it, one of the best thai place in ottawa
Surprised. Went theere for lunch and though oh oh, another fly by the night Asian restaurant. I was completely wrong. Great prices and great taste. Would you want any more?
Wow! Everything we have tried at this resturent is amazing. From the beef with lemongrass to the salty pad Thai to the satay is a delight. My family has used this resturent as a place to go when noone can cook. Great people and great food.
Tapioca Pudding. Wow, made with coconut milk and black beans. Sounds weird, but VERY NICE. They don't alsways have it so call ahead.
It was okay. A bit on the pricier side for what you get but will give it another shot. The chicken in the Gaeng Garee Gai didn't seem to be properly de-boned. The panang was good.
Ordered 3 different curries, pad thai and the tom yum soup. The curries were amazing, especially the green curry. Keow warn and sapparot were a bit spicy. Tom yum soup is a clear broth, instead of red, as others have said so it was confusing, but the taste is similar. The pad thai was okay for us. They do offer halal options for all the chickens in the menu, which is really great so thank you for having that.
I've used Sala Thai to feed a small office staff twice; both times the food was hot and fresh, the orders were perfectly accurate and the take-out service was fast, friendly and accommodating. An excellent Thai food choice in Ottawa.
Amazing! Service was great, ambiance was lovely. The food was delicious. The person working at the front, possibly the owner? Was very friendly, and attentive. I would most definitely go again.
I cannot recommend this place enough! The pad Thai and yellow curry are my all time favourites. If you want delicious Thai food go here!!!
I ordered the Pad Thai and the Thai Basil Chicken. Both were excellent. This was my first visit but I'll be back.
I am surprised this establishment isn't bursting at the seams with patrons! The staff were very friendly and caring. They seem to be apart of the community which adds to the charm. The curry was by far the creamiest I have ever had. The service was quick and efficient and the conversation with staff was light and pleasant. I definetly look forward to the next time I am in town to go again.
