Review Via Cibo - Ottawa

Casual place where you order ahead at the counter. Offers good, fresh Italian food at friendly prices. Only miss was the Caesar salad which was too salty. So that was relatively untouched. Otherwise, pizza and pasta were great.

I walked in and I ordered the Gnocchi Gorgonzola. I waited at the table for my order. Then, after 10-15 minutes they delivered my food to takeaway. I ate this meal for the first time. It was delicious! The service was quick! The cashier was very friendly and it wasn’t busy at the time.

This Italian restaurant is easily, one of my most favorite in Ottawa, we stumbled on it while searching for a place that offers wood fired pizza, this was the only location we could find around the Kanata area, so we decided to give it a try. And oh boy they didn’t disappoint, the staff is amazing, very friendly and welcoming. Your food will be ready in no time, it took 8mins to prepare my margarita. Once I got to the car I opened it to smell it, once it was opened I couldn’t resist to serve myself a slice of the pizza on the spot. Amazing, definitely worth to give a try to this place 💜

Great food and atmosphere! The lunch menu is a great deal, you get a pizza or pasta, side salad or donuts and the choice of pop or Italian soda (seltzer water with a choice of syrup shots, BlackBerry was very delicious!). The pizza was very good, the type that is soft and folds well with gooey cheese and minimal grease. The donuts were served hot and fresh with chocolate syrup. The chicken parmesan sandwich was good but the chicken was not at all crunchy which is the only complaint. The only thing that was confusing was that the entrance and exit doors are not labeled so we went in the wrong door not knowing you had to order at a counter first then pick a seat. But it was great and I would recommend the pizza!

Was looking for a quick lunch spot near Kanata, and found Via Cibo. A very cozy vibe with welcoming staff. We decided to try The New Yorker pizza and it was very delicious. The ingredients were fresh and flavourful. There are special deals throughout the week for those who want to save some money too! Definitely coming back to try the whole menu!

Way overpriced for undercooked, tasteless “authentic” pasta. The Alfredo sauce was reminiscent of the tears of men I drink on a daily basis, very watery and flavourless. Both the Fettuccini Alfredo and the Chicken Parm had this issue. The presentation of the food wasn’t like what was advertised on Uber Eats at all. It was reminiscent of a meal that would most likely be cooked in a trap house by a bunch of teenagers. I would rather eat at East Side Marios and that says enough.

The pizza smelled so yummy I forgot to take a picture. I recommend the pizza with prosciutto and arugula the chicken Piadina was nice too ans the salad super fresh. Gelato is good too.

Great Italian restaurant. Check it out if you like traditional Italian pizza and pasta.

Place looks great on the outside and inside. Strange order business of waiting in line to order off of a menu and then go wait for it at your table, food was sub par to my expectations ( i am not a fussy person at all, will give anywhere a fair chance) . Definitely way over priced for what you get (47 $) for two of us to have lunch . was in line for 10 minutes to order and then waited another 25 minutes for our food to arrive, with terrible table service. There will not be a second visit from this couple! There's a great Italian restaurant within one minute drive from this place, and its great food and service every time . Hope this review helps , cheers all.

Great place for a quick lunch. Not too expensive and good options. Easy to please lots of people by going there. Loved the piadina I had. Stuff were friendly, service quick.

We had to go there before a Sens game tonight after trying 5 other places.

I had the Ossobuco ragu pasta. It was bland lacking salt and the veal ragu was not good at all. The place looks good but the food is severely lacking taste and flavour.

My kids had the alfredo and carbonara pasta, I could not even tell the difference between the 2 , the bacon was absent.

This is not authentic Italian food.

This place had been recommended to us by someone who worked nearby. We stepped in and found a place with the ambiance of MacDonalds. The space is very open and there is nothing to absorb the noise.
There is an extensive menu and one is asked for one's order before the whole menu can be read.
We ordered a couple of flat bread sandwiches. The prices were in line with nearby pubs, far too expensive for what you get, in what is essentially a fast food restaurant.
I had ordered a roasted Portobello mushroom and goat cheese. The sandwich was totally lacking any goat cheese, so it was bland and messy to eat. My partners chicken sandwich was tastier, but not exceptional.
On the upside, the restrooms were clean and spacious.
I won't be back.

I was tempted to get a panino and a side order of french fries, but for $18? No way. Thirteen dollars for a sandwich that comes with a teeny tiny portion of dressed greens is too high of a price point (and the only way I knew that is because I observed what other people were having; it would be nice if their menu board indicated that paninos and piadinas came with a side of greens).

So instead I ordered a Pollo al Pesto pizza - Grilled Chicken, Pesto and Crushed Tomato Sauce, Roasted Pepper & Onions, Caramelized Onion, Broccolini, Fior Di Latte.

Positives: great chewy crust (I liked it better than Anthony's!), plentiful toppings, generous portion.

Negatives: it was lukewarm, the pesto was nowhere to be found, and it was incredibly bland. The sauce and toppings would certainly benefit from a more assertive seasoning.

The staff were....okay. They could have been friendlier, more polished, and inviting.

The decor is really nice and modern and it's a pleasant atmosphere for lunch. You order at the counter and they bring your order to the table.

Another plus would be if they had water available at the table or self-serve where the utensils are located.

I won't make a big effort to return but if someone suggested it, hey, I would go. I would order the pizza again (that crust!!) but now I know to season it myself - and perhaps ask for extra sauce and pesto.

Food lowdown: I was excited about the picante pizza until it arrived looking blah and then I took my first bite of this flavourless pizza. Sadly had to add generous amounts of chilli pepper flakes and hot oil. Whereas the pollo al pesto was a much more flavourful and better presented pizza.

Note we haven't completely ruled this place out for a second try but will order different items.

ps. cafeteria style format
