No exaggeration, the BEST breakfast I have ever had! My husband and I were visiting Ottawa and found your restaurant along our route. The food was incredible and the service was very friendly! Excellent coffee as well!
I can't say enough about this wonderful café! The food is absolutely scrumptious and the staff and atmosphere are very welcoming. We definitely be back again. Highly recommend it!!!!
High end food served in a cozy home atmosphere. The first time I've had coffee served with with warm cream on the side. First time I've had goat cheese in my scrambled eggs. I will be recommending to all my friends, and returning as often as I can.
delicious fresh food!! Everything tastes amazing! Must try the fish of the day!
Visiting Family in Ottawa and this place was recommended to us. Arrived today without a reservation and was seated quickly. The service and food were exceptional with a lovely interior. Would I go back....most definitely!!
Amazing - fairly priced and attentive service. Food was delicious. Will be my new spot for sure!
I first went to this restaurant a couple of years ago and I constantly want to return! Best breakfast in the city and I have never received service like this before. Staff is super friendly and if I had a car, I would be there everyday!
Delicious - potato pancakes are to die for
We have dined here many times. The food here never disappoints! If you have enough room try one of their pies! They’re all delicious! Service is always consistently friendly.
It was my second time at Goodness Gracious Café and it did not disappoint. Both times the service was awesome and the food was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict and also the meatless breakfast.
While the exterior leaves much to be desired the food and customer service in Goodness Gracious Cafe was perfect for a casual brunch with family or friends.
My wife and daughter visited GGC a few months ago and have raved about it ever since. She and I went there for lunch today. While we arrived fairly late, our waitress was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Both my wife and I had the burger, both of which were excellent. The prices were very reasonable, given the quality and quantity of the meals. Will definitely be going back the
Artsy and tasty. Slightly expensive place but so worth it!! We went there on Sunday and had excellent eggs and juice. Place had a very artsy vibe and we loved the decor. The host and the waitress were both lovely. Excellent customer service!
This place is excellent! My friend and I shared the eggs Benedict and a bacon egg tomato grilled cheese today, both were DELISH. Nice decor, handy parking at the back, very clean, good service.
Went there for brunch with a friend, we ordered Goodness Gracious breakfast with french toast and the basic grilled cheese. The portion sizes were perfect, delicious and filling. The service was friendly and inviting. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. Would definitely go again.
Best grill cheese in east end. I wanted to try this place for a while. Went there for lunch a few weeks ago. It is a pretty busy place and if you can make reservations for a larger table i would suggest it but we were 2 people and the wait was only about 5 mins or so and the area was a little small but the amazing food made up for all of that. I had the apple /brie grilled cheese with Potatoe leek soup. I could have liked my plates it was so good. Service was great as well, definitely will go back.
Expensive but delicious. I love love love the breakfast here. It's just hard to justify paying 17$ for a breakfast plate...and that's without coffee/tea/orange juice...
Best-kept secret. I went to the Goodness Gracious Cafe with a party of 5 people this afternoon for lunch; what an amazing restaurant! It can be a bit hard to find, but as soon as you walk in the door you're hit by the AMAZING smell of the cooking food. The ingredients all tasted very fresh, and the offerings on the menu were all innovative yet comforting. The homemade food was found delicious by all, and we've agreed that if they keep up this amazing food quality, it won't be a secret for long!
Was visiting out of town and this place was within walking distance from the motel. I knocked on the window and the owner welcomed me in and brewed me a cup of fresh free trade organic coffee at 6am on the house !!! The best coffee EVER. I wish I could have gone back for breakfast/lunch the menu looked awesome and the decor so quaint.
Goodness Gracious Yum Yum!. The cook at Goodness Gracious could make a sandwich and soup for me any day! Looking at the menu I could have picked anything on there and have been completely happy. I ordered the chicken club with avocado and prosciutto..delicious!! The salad was out of this world as well... lots of fresh fruits and vegetables with a great homemade vinaigrette. My mom ordered the portobello mushroom and provolone sandwich and loved every bite as well. Highly recommended! Good idea to make a reservation because the place fills up at lunch time.
Very high quality food. Small locale but big on taste
Breakfast is great! The prices were a bit high, but the value seemed to match. The service is wonderful ( it seems family run). It's a random location and we just happen upon it! Will go back if we're ever in the neighbourhood.
AMAZINGLY good. Wow.. this place has the absolute best sandwiches and soups
their homemade ice tea is particularly good. The man who owns this place is very nice, I always try and tell him how good his food was because he is so busy and deserves the praise!
He mixes ingredients together that you don't normally see together for some of his menu items and they are GREAT.. I wish it was a bigger restaurant and it was open for supper so I can go more often!
Loved it!. A lovely homey atmosphere & friendly service - best of all, the food was fantastic! Very pleased to have the option of gluten free bread - thanks so much. Enjoyed the portobello mushroom and provolone sandwich with mushroom broth soup - absolutely delicious. Will definately recommend GG to friends and family.
THE best cafe!. Amazing food! amazing chef! YOU HAVE TO TRY IT!!!!

I discovered this gem of an eatery today. The chicken, cranberry, Brie and caramelized onion sandwich was supreme. Served with a 'side' salad that could have been a meal on its own, it was simply delicious and satisfying. I was even able to have gluten-free bread, which is often hard to come by in smaller establishments.
Great value, quaint and super friendly ambiance.
Great location, easy parking.... It's my new favourite lunch spot!!
Amazing!!. Wow talk abour impressed, incredible coffee! Unpretencious little place, at first you think whoa, then you see the menu. Service was friendly and amazing. I had Lynea's Breakfast sandwich; scrambled eggs, goat cheese, tomato and avacado, words cannot describe how delicious it was. My friend has apple crepes with a brandy butterscoth sauce and scrambled eggs, again amazing! Fruir salad on both plates was super fresh and a julienne mix of pineapple, mango and 2 melons plus strawberries and blueberies. Both were $ 15.95 each plate (the average price of all breakfast plates) and welll worth it! If you love Stone Face Dolly's but are looking for something closer to Orleans this is it. Planning on returning for lunch or dinner another day.
Everything we ordered was delicious, the 10+ ingredients salad, the sandwich, the soup, even the ice tea amd limonade were homemade. I'm telling everyone about this hidden gem. And we LOVED the, yet again, homemade cream pies!!! The people who run it were welcoming, attentive and friendly. I'm looking forward to going again.
GG Cafe is fresh and tasty!. A cozy little café integrated with the Rothwell Gallery so you can peruse the art pre- or post-munching. The café has small round wrought iron tables and small wooden chairs but comfy enough. The menu is a mix of made on the spot deli sandwiches, fresh, generous and tasty salads, or home-made (and lowly salted) soup of the day. Sandwiches are creative and very tasty with fresh, quality ingredients. Very healthy portions and they'll box your leftovers. Fresh baking daily. Call ahead for take-out. Flavourful coffee and specialty teas to savour until your food is ready. Goodness Gracious Café is a wonderful addition to the East End (Blair/Montreal area).
Pleasant surprise! Had lunch: soup, sandwich & salad all made with FRESH ingredients. Delightful little place; can't wait to go back!
Absolutely decadent! I can't believe I haven't heard about this place before. Their brunch is delicious, fresh, new. None of that chain restaurant non sense. You're really getting a unique and tasty brunch when coming to Goodness Gracious. Service is friendly and excellent but food is even better Note: They are cash only.
Will be back!!
A small breakfast place that was actually open on Canada's day. Parking is available in the back. The service was slow. It took 10 min to get coffee and another 30 min to get food. Nevertheless, the breakfast was delicious! I took sunny side up eggs, beans, bacon, and potatoes. It comes with fruits and a toast.
We always go here for brunch everytime we go to Ottawa. Try their eggs benedict and eggs florentine. Best breakfast place ever!
Very tasty sandwiches/service was great/a bit pricy. Worth checking out!
It's a small cafe with excellent food and services. We had free fresh made donut today. Quality whole grain toasts were served when requested without extra charge. Brunch menu was not big but food were great. Fruits were fresh. Coffee was fresh and hot and frequently filled up. Shaun was amazing; very attentive and caring. We enjoyed our lunch very much.
Found this place accidentally. I'm glad I did.
It's a small little place that has a lot to offer. The restaurant has an interesting layout as I'm pretty sure used to be a house and the staff really do care about the food they prepare and serve. There's a lot of love put into the food.
I'm surprised how much I got for what little I paid for. Fantastic quality. I got the fried chicken and waffle with maple syrup , Chipotle mayo and fries. It was so good!
On the bottom of the menu they state that they accept cash only so that they can compensate their employees instead of paying debit and credit machines. I really respect that decision. I really do.
In short, next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to have cash on me and enjoy some lovingly prepared filling flavourful brunch.
Love this place. We were here for brunch and it was quite delicious. Coffee was some of the best drip I've had at any restaurant. Everything is slightly pricey but it's definitely worth it. Staff is friendly and service is great. Would definitely recommend. Don't get fooled by what this place looks like on the outside.
I went on a Saturday around 9:30am with one other person after reading the reviews on Google and was naturally a little hesitant after seeing the ones with bad comments about service, particularly for a younger demographic. I was very glad that I went anyway- we had excellent, courteous, and fast service. Our waitress was great, bringing us water and coffee immediately, leaving the pot and bottle on the table but also filling it up as needed, and checking on our food after she brought it. The other waitress also checked on us. The food itself was excellent and the coffee was much better than other breakfast places. The menu is not very extensive but you can tell that they take great care to have a variety of high quality options. I would always rather have quality over quantity. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint; I loved it.
