Our experience here was ok. I bought two cupcakes and asked if one of them were chocolate and the sales person said no. Lo and behold when I bit into it after leaving it was chocolate. We came in towards the end of the day so there were not many options left. In addition to that, the cupcakes had a thick layer of icing and were very sweet. Definitely not worth the price and for a place in the Byward I would've expected better quality and service. I've had better cupcakes, service, and prices at vegan spots.

Love the cupcakes but the delivery service they use is not great. Ordered for delivery in august and they were an hour past delivery window. Today again the delivery window was from 11-2. Still nothing at 240. When i called at 2, i was told max 30 minutes. Them staying affiliated to this delivery business will deter me from going with the for my cupcake needs

We’ve tried numerous items on their menu and it’s all delicious. Our favorite is the chocolate chocolate cupcakes. They also have really nice DIY kits that make a really good activity for kids on a weekend. We’ve tried the cookie and the cupcake DIY kits and they come with everything needed and it’s lots of fun for kids( and adults!)

The selection is impressive, and the service is fantastic, but the pricing is high (and this goes for all the cupcake places in Ottawa).
Tried the peanut butter (good), and the strawberry cheesecake (not bad).
They also offer "day old" cupcakes at a reduced price.
It's pretty good, so I would recommend dropping by if you're in the market.

I have never had a bad experience with Cupcake Lounge! Their classics such as Oreo and Red Velvet are always dependable and I love the seasonal options as well.
My recent Uber Eats experience was even more lovely. One of the items I had ordered was out of stock and they subbed it out for an even better Marshmallow Ganache! Thanks so much, guys for the friendly note and the A+ service.

Really tasty cupcakes, great and fun choice of delicious flavours, beautiful and cozy decor, friendly and helpful service! It's a little expensive, but it's totally worth to try! They also have nice boxes in case you want to buy as a gift, to take to a party etc. We totally recommend!

I must say, the way those cheese cake melt in your mouth and taste. Yes!! amazing taste.
The only thing, it is slightly expensive, but definitely wort trying them out.
If you want normal cupcake or even gluten free deserts, drop by, you will not regret it.
Your taste buds will thank you

I have mixed feelings on this place. I really like the idea, but I'm just never wowed enough by their treats. The cupcakes are good, but not much better than what I can buy at Loblaws, and their ice cream pops are good but not much better than those you could be in a box at a corner store or grocery store. It doesn't help that this location is very cramped and the staff often looks at people in the store like they're being a bother. I've also had some problems with their rotating schedule and them not having the particular ones on their particular days.

The store is very pleasing visually, super cute. Service was alright. Polite but not super friendly, generally didn't speak much. I got the red velvet cupcake on one occasion (pictured) and bought 4 to go another time (peanut butter chocolate, Oreo, vanilla vanilla, and carrot cake I believe it's called) and they were alright, but nothing special. Definitely not worth their price tag. The icing was very sweet and masked the flavor of the cupcake, which was quite dry. The carrot cake one was pretty good though, it had cream cheese icing which wasn't too sweet but still flavorful, the best out of the ones that I got. However, I generally wouldn't recommend the cupcake lounge. You can definitely find better cupcakes at this price point.

Good cupcakes! I had the key lime and it was really tasty. They don't have a bathroom nor do they have much seating. I had a decaf coffee that was just okay. Tasted burnt. My friend had an iced coffee and she wasn't super impressed. Also said it tasted burned and opted to add sugar and cinnamon. Our table was dirty. It's all about the cupcakes! Lots of icing!

Decent Standard Cupcakes. Theyre decent cupcakes with cool flavors and lots of choice. Im just a bit put off by the price, theyre standard sized and they have just a bit of icing (to my taste anyways) and theyre around 3.75$ each. Theyre not that special in my opinion and arent worth that.

All icing, cake is average. There's too much icing. I always scrape it off. With the icing it's discustingly sweet. When tasting the cupcake itself it is average at most. Nothing you can't make at home. It's not even moist. Some staff are friendly but some clearly have attitude problems.

Billiard balls cupcakes. I ordered custom cupcakes for my husband's bday party, which was held at a pool hall this year. I asked if they can design the cupcakes to look like 16 billiard balls so I could display them "racked-up" in a triangle. I also asked for other cupcakes topped with a letter each spelling out H-A-P-P-Y B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y. The cupcakes were delicious and everyone asked if I made them myself (I wish I could have said yes, but I'm not that good LoL)! The design was fabulous, and the flavours so intense! We chose a combination of key lime, raspberry, apple dulce de leche, chocolate and pumpkin. Perfect packaging too! Excellent overall! Thank you!

Really Good and Unique Fun Flavours. Really good and I'm not a cupcake person. My favourite was the carrot cake with great icing. They didn't have the maple bacon the day I went, but I will go back one day just to try that flavour. Felt the actual cake part could have been a bit more moist, but overall very good.

Very Impressed. Cupcakes aren't my thing. But after some encouragement from friends, I'm glad I went and tried them. The biggest surprise was that Gluten Free Chocolate cupcakes. I was very impressed that it didn't have that texture I always found kind of gross in gluten free products. Love love LOVE their german chocolate cake. I wish I could have more without consequences to my waist line.

The Spot for Luxury Cupcakes. This is my favourite cupcake place by far in Ottawa. It's pricey, but so worth it. The first bite will get you addicted. The staff are pleasant, the location is quaint and the cupcakes are amazing. Give it a try and see for yourself :)

I've also found some incredible flavors that I never tasted, but now love so much (White Chocolate Cranberry) and some classics that are just so much better (Carrots). Customers service is amazing. Delicious cupcakes!!! The icing and cake part of the cupcake is like no other! <br/>I highly recommend! Only change that I would make is the seating! There should be more tables and chairs in the store for customers to really be able to "lounge" it while they're enjoying their scrumptious dessert(s)!!!

Too much icing!. I have been here a few times and tried many different types of cupcakes. They're all good but I think the portion of icing is just too much for me. I have to scrape off about half of it or I feel a bit sick by the time i'm done.<br/><br/>The cake has been a bit stale the last couple of times i've ordered but before that it had always been moist and fresh. I love the variety of cupcakes offered and how there's special ones on certain days of the week.<br/><br/>I think they need to cut down on the icing a bit and bake a batch of cupcakes later in the day if they don't already. Paying $3-4 for a stale cupcake is a pain in the ass.

Awful - had the chocolate chocolate and the coconut. The cake part was dry and was tasteless like it was baked a few days ago. The chocolate icing on the chocolate one tasted like burnt chocolate. The cream cheese one was okay but it was lacking. Maybe toast the coconut? I have two more that will end up in the garbage which is such a shame at $3.25 each. Such a waste!

Gorgeous cupcakes are deee-licious!. I purchased a dozen cupcakes for an office party. There were 12 different cupcakes available that day (every day has a different assortment), and I ordered one of each. They arrived in a beautiful, sturdy presentation box. Each cupcake was unique and each one was beautifully decorated. The gorgeous presentation was only surpassed by the flavour. These are not your ordinary cake-mix cupcakes. They tasted fresh, home made and the icing was flavourful and not overly sweet. Deee-licious! Everyone loved their cupcake. I will be sure to go back for more!

They're delicious, moist and the icing is great! They all have their distinct flavour and my personal favourite is the chocolate version. I'm sure that there are other cupcakes that may be better (of course its all a matter of taste and preference) but you can't go wrong.

Best cupcakes in Ottawa. I'm obsessed. I have been dragging my boyfriend all around Ottawa to have a little cupcake off and find the best cupcakes in Ottawa and these win hands down. He's obsessed with them too. We buy them every week. The cream cheese icing is incredible, you can't find that anywhere else. And they are huge and moist and have the most amazing flavours. They're also gorgeous.

Cute and Comforting!. I have been here about 4 times now and out of the various flavours I have tried, I must admit any of their chocolate or hazelnut icing cupcakes are the best. The cupcakes my friends and I tried on one occasion were very stale but overall, this place is a sweet treat!

Great cupcakes. Grabbed a few of these cupcakes to share with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. We ate them the day after and all I can say is they were awesome. I had one of the red velvet and a white chocolate macadamia nut, they were both awesome. The place was sold out of V Day so I'm glad I called ahead.

Pretty good. I'm not a cupcake connoisseur, but I am a voracious home baker. Here's what I have to say about the Cupcake Lounge:<br/>1) It's not a lounge. Think more quick take-out place with a few high-tops.<br/>2) I got the Oreo cupcake. The elements of chocolate cupcake, vanilla frosting and cookie crumbles on their own were nothing special. However, together they made a bit of magic. A moist cupcake and very generous frosting make for sweet creamy loveliness. But...I think Isobel's -although smaller - has better flavour overall.<br/>3) I don't know what I think about buying a cupcake for almost $3.50. Does this make us an insane society?<br/>4) The service was prompt, friendly and polite. <br/>5) While I wouldn't make this my only destination in the market, it is definitely a solid snack or pick-me-up stop.<br/>6) I'd definitely go there again and try something new.<br/><br/>Update: The Red Velvet cupcake was beyond words. Fabulous. Buy one. Immediately.

Wonderful place. On short notice they were able to produce 13 dozen cupcakes for my staff. Everybody was impressed with the quality of the cupcakes and the presentation. I would recoomend them for any special event.

Just ok. I probably wouldn't go back. Price was very good, though. Bought a box of 6. I had Chocolate Dulce de Leche and tasted my husband's Coconut. The Chocolate Dulce de Leche was the better of the two, but it was dry and the icing was grainy and just didn't have great flavor. The Coconut was bland. It was a vanilla-coconut cupcake that was very dry with cream cheese icing and covered with shredded coconut that wasn't even toasted. The cream cheese icing was better than the chocolate, but it did not go well at all with the coconut cupcake

My Perfect Cupcake. I've walked by the Cupcake Lounge many times but I've never had the change to go in. Today during my lunch break a co-worker and I decided to give one a shot.<br/><br/>I chose the Chocolate Cupcake with Coconut icing and it was perfect. The cupcake was moist but held together nicely after my first bite and the icing was to die for! Cream cheese icing with coconut on top...could it get any better than that?<br/><br/>I can now say I've tried all of the cupcakery's in Ottawa and The Cupcake Lounge is by far my favorite.

Yumm-o!. Randomly popped in while shopping in the market for a quick sugar rush. I had the Chocolate Hazelnut (Ground hazelnut chocolate cake with dark chocolate frosting) which was AMAZING! Icing was soo decadent. My friends had the Espresso (Belgian dark chocolate cake with chocolate espresso frosting) which he gave a great review with a drool and my other friend had the Carrot (Pure carrot cake, walnuts and pineapple, and cinnamon cream cheese frosting) but didnt enjoy. He really didnt like the frosting on this one at all.<br/><br/>Overall, really cute little shop with yummy sweets and adorable presentation. One cupcake is $3.25.

Lemon Coconut Rocks. Tried the lemon coconut today and it was quite good. Icing was sweet but not overly and I like tart so it was just the right amount of tart. I had a large latte to go along with it. I am a big-time latte drinker and I gotta say it was damn good.

Mediocre decor with less than mediocre cupcakes. I was Looking forward to this addition to the market but it's an unbelievable waste of space. I've never had such dry dense tasteless cupcakes! I was expecting a spongy, fluffy flavorful cake with a smooth textured frosting....um the frosting was chewy-almost comparable to fondant...and the worst cake by far. Tried the Red Velvet which is their 'big seller' and Maple Cinnamon. Nada. I could put them out of business. And how about you put some chairs and tables INSIDE the establishment if you're going to include 'lounge' in your business title. It's kinda misleading. Just a thought.....

Wowza. After hearing about this place all summer, I finally had the chance to check it out yesterday. First of all, I'd have to say they have a pretty location-- cuteness all around. I tried their Apple Caramel flavour and was seriously blown away. It was the best cupcake I have ever had, hands down. I can't wait to go back and try all the flavours. Definitely a must-see cupcake spot if you're into mini-cakes.

Dissapointed. I work in the market quite close to the Cupcake Lounge so it's hard not to want to sneak over for a mid-afternoon snack...however I have to say with great dissapointment that I have yet to really enjoy a single flavour I've tried. I have made an attempt at getting a different one every time (I'm up to about 7-8 different flavours) and I think that maybe the next one will be the one that changes my opinion but it hasn't happened yet.<br/><br/>They don't taste like their flavours (stear clear of cherry!! - doesn't taste like anything!!) and I couldn't believe how incredibly dry they are.<br/><br/>Big hopes but unfortunately doesn't deliver :(

Mediocre. This place is very visually appealing! A cute place in a great location with interestingly simply decor. They have a wide selection of interesting flavours, but the cupcakes themselves are very mediocre. I wasn't a fan of the icing and the cupcakes tasted like something I could easily whip up at home. Day Old Cupcakes. I used to go to Westboro to buy their cupcakes at the Candy Shop in Westboro and I loved the cupcakes. I looked forward to the store opening and after the 2nd visit I found the vanilla cupcake dry it tasted like it was made a couple of days ago. <br/><br/>Also if you are allergic to any ingrediients they will not tell you what is inside the cupcake except it is made from all natual ingredients. Here our favourites are the chocolate chocolate and a special cinnamon bun cupcake that has apples in it and is so delicious. They use no preservatives, no artificial colours or transfats. All the cupcakes are made right there in the shop in an open kitchen visible from the counter where you can watch them taking cupcakes out of the oven, carefully scooping icing onto each cooled cake and spreading it out evenly. The cupcakes taste fantastic, aren’t too sweet and have just the perfect ratio of icing to cake.

This afternoon, while downtown, I thought I would use a coupon for a free cup of coffee with the purchase of a cupcake at The Cupcake Lounge ( 6 Byward Market Square, Ottawa ). I walked down to the small store next to Zak's Diner but just short of Clarence Street on Byward Market Square and entered. Inside is a small storefront with two tables in the window for consuming your favourite beverage and your cupcake of choice. Behind the counter is where the magic happens where two employees make the cupcakes by hand and sell them there. From their website they sell both individually to walk in customers like myself to big corporate functions and weddings. I waited for a lady in front of me to finish ordering. Sure there were two employees, but one was putting the finishing touches on the icing of another chocolate cupcake while the first was cashing out the customer in front. No problem there as there was not that many customers in line. Less than a minute and I was next. I walked up

We split one of the remaining banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting ($3.25). The cake’s light crumb, tasting gently of banana, paired well with the light for cream cheese frosting. It was a delicate balance. Tasty treats served by friendly people, we left with great first impressions.
