Their Brocoli Bechamel on mashed sweet patato is to die for! I visit weekly and always order the same thing. :) All deserts are amazing too. My favorite is the Brownie.
Its a nice place for vegetarians. I ordered a tofu burger and an Indian samosa, although it was very less spicy, it was good. It's difficult to find a pure veg restaurant in Ottawa, lucky to find this one. Its a very cozy little place but enough space to sit and eat. Staffs are very friendly and humble.
Go here if you are a vegan like me.
It has been a long time since I returned to Sandy Hill, Ottawa, and this restaurant is in the same location just like before! It is a small place but the menu has good selections. The tamarin tofu is as good as ever. Everything is fresh and tasty, just good!
PSP and Peace Garden in the Market are my go-to for fast, delicious vegetarian/vegan meals. It's a quick meal you can feel good about. Their vegan, gluten-free peanut butter cookies are to die for as well!
You're belly says, "MORE PLEASE". Amazing food. I've been coming here since I was a wee lad and it has never disappointed. The creamy brocoli cheese is great, the bean chili tasty-delicious, the burgers are out of this world, tacos are ridonkulous, and the specials are heaven for your tastebuds. The staff are super friendly, accommodating, down to earth, and the prices are very reasonable. If you haven't been you've gotta go.
Light and Tasty. You do not need to be a vegetarian or vegan to enjoy eating out at vegetarian/vegan restaurants.
I came here today for dinner and ordered a painted potato and a chocolate cake. The total price for my meal was just shy of fourteen dollars, which is pricey for something I can make at home. Although the portions are small for the price, I still enjoyed my hearty meal.
The dining area is down-to-earth and cosy. It's a clean dining space, and the staff is nice. Inside, the restaurant smells like Indian spices, and the music is calming.
Love the food!. I love the food here, but perfection satisfaction promise is run by an organization formerly headed by Sri Chinmoy, who had some very eccentric behaviours! Mixed feelings about the late Sri Chinmoy, but I love the food too much to let it affect me!
Good. The staff is very nice and the food is good. The only issue is you have to know which items on the menu to avoid, like the bizarre cold pureed avocado dish - yuck. The spicing is very bland on regular menu items, chili with no spice or heat!! The red lentil soup is great and the daily special is usually more interesting then the regular menu items. The samosas and pakoras are delicious as are all the dessert items. Great little spot, you just need to know what to get.
Love it here. So lovely, the food is awesome. Great place to go for lunch. Everyone I know loves this place. Painted potatoes are delicious.
Not bad. Friendly service and small portions, mildly seasoned. Not the place to go when you want to get stuffed to the brim, but for a light lunch you'll enjoy it. I had the tofu samosa (which had a mild sort of savory taste to it) and a tamari (soy sauce + sesame, right?) tofu dish on a sticky brown rice.
Very busy around lunch-time this time of year and the place is fairly small, so consider taking your food with you.
A hidden gem. Why isn't this place thronged? Yummy nutritious main courses (I particularly like the mild/sweet curried veggies and the dhal, both on brown rice), gorgeous salads, addictive fruit-based drinks, and, best of all, outstanding desserts. Everything chocolate that I've had there has been delicious, and a slice of the 3-chocolate cake is pure heaven.
Plus the place is very clean and bright, the staff charming, the service fast, and the air conditioning a welcome relief in the summer months.
A staple for us when we're at the Ottawa Fringe every year, and a great spot to drop in for a bite when in the vicinity of the U of O.
Painted Potatoes. My friend brought me here after hearing her go on about these so called "painted potatoes" for weeks. Absolutely adorable and charming little place. I had the Indian Dhal (red lentils prepared with ginger, garlic, onion, cilantro, mild Indian spices & butter) over sweet potatoes. So yummy and hit the spot.
What a great veggie option, and so close to campus! The painted potatoes are a wonderful alternative to other local options come lunchtime.
Always a great place to grab a meal before class. Healthy, nutritious and tasty!
I adore this charming venue; it's tiny but worth ducking in for lunch! The lovely staff are always polite and friendly, Here you'll find students and professors as well as area locals dashing in for fresh, clean vegetarian and vegan food. I am not a vegetarian but for the last 10 years this restaurant has provided me with healthy, meat-free alternatives. Try the chick-pea curry (10 years ago my friend suggested it and I doubtfully placed the order--it is one of my all-time favourite meals!) on top of a potato or rice and a slice of the carrot cake--best treat ever! Here you line up, place your order at the small counter and wait a few minutes while they freshly prepare your meal. Try it!!
