The lemonade and burger were alright but expensive. It took a while for our orders to arrive even though there were only a total of 5 people (including ourselves) seated at the time. Waitress was nice though.

Didn't know what to expect and ended up pleasantly surprised! Great burger restaurant, nice ingredient quality, great attention to details and to the reality of having small children with us. Will most likely go back when we're in Ottawa again in the future.

Went for the lunch menu (available until 3pm), and had the Smokey Mountain with fries. The slightly smaller burger party size is perfect, and the fries were the best they've been - nice and crispy outside and fluffy inside. Definitely got my money's worth here.

A person taking the order over the phone was very pleasant and patient. I was very excited about our takeout as I remember going to the same place about a year ago and the food was delicious....To my huge disappointment the food we received this time around was terrible. Everything on the burger was old: meat, veggies, cheese, avocado was dark and stinky...The fries that came with the burger were black and dry even though we were standing there waiting for the order to be finished (can't blame it on the time that passed while we were driving home).I wish I had taken pictures. Me and two of my friends had sick stomach the following day...Save your money and take care of your health --- go elsewhere!!

Food was great. As much burgers as fries and everything else. The kids portions were plentiful. My only complaint would be environment-wise, as we were cold while sitting inside the restaurant, as if there was almost no heating... And I'm not just talking about drafts of cold air from time to time from the door being opened.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The menu has lots of great options. It is a bit pricey for a burger but it’s worth it every once in a while for something different. The atmosphere is good. I ordered takeout. It took about 25 minutes to prepare.

Great toppings and delicious burgers. They are generous with the fries and The customer service is very friendly and professional. Great place to have a burger if you are in the area.

I've been here 3 or 4 times, and haven't had a poor experience (I did at their Kanata location, but this review is for this location specifically). The fact that they have so many options is great, and as I was watching carb intake, it was easy to just skip the bun and have that presented as an option up front. <br/><br/>Realistically, for the price and considering these are really just burgers with different toppings, it is pretty pricey for what it is, and while I don't go out of my way to come here, I've not been disappointed whenever I end up here. There are a lot of gourmet burger places in Ottawa lately, and a lot of them are quite comparable, and while I don't feel the works is particularly a standout, it certainly isn't a bad option overall either.

My favorite place to catch a veggie gourmand burger : 3 ring binder (cheese and onion ring with a veggie patty) and tower of rings (onion rings) 🙌🏻<br/>TRUST me it's goooood

"Kick ass burgers" is true for this burger joint. Casual dining ambience,love to visit again. Best burger place in Ottawa definitely competes with World Burgers.

Best burger place in town! I got the juicy Lucy, wich was a cheese stuffed burger, my friend got a kevin something burger? 6 type af bacon! Good atmosphere, great service! Good food! Will defiantly return

The place has good burger, huge portions of both meals and milkshake. However, the milkshake comes early while the burgers take such a long time. So by the time your burger arrives, you are already full on the milkshake.

I've tried a couple of burger places now in Ottawa. This is one of the better ones. It has a nice atmosphere, attentive servers and food has been consistently good. I think they are a tad pricier than most burger places. For two people, I would want to pay closer to the $25-$30 mark than $40 for two people. However, overall a great place to have a burger.

Tasty burgers and great, interesting choices. A bit pricey for burgers but they are good. My daughter loved the KD topped burger. <br/><br/>Any burger can be turned into a "Juicy Lucy" (mozzarella cheese inside the patty) which is a great option. <br/><br/>Tasty onion rings, good fries. Atmosphere was interesting with different things embedded into the brick throughout the restaurant. Has a bit of an industrial feel. <br/><br/>Worth a try.

I come here regularly and the quality and service is consistent every time. The burgers are good, although there are so many variations I've only tried a few. Industrial theme is unique.

The Works is amazing! I have been this restaurant over 5 times and have excellent service each time. I prefer to go when it is less busy (during the early afternoon, non weekends). This restaurant has a lot of character, the salt and pepper shakers are made of lightbulb holders, and you are served your drinks in measuring cups. <br/><br/>Tips<br/>-Make sure your eyes and stomach are communicating..you may leave feeling fuller then you intended <br/>-Ask about the seasonal changes to the menu...things are always changing for the better <br/>-Try the deep fried pickles...they are the bomb.com<br/>-Parking is limited to side streets <br/>-Birthdays at the works are always fun (but make sure to reserve space is limited)<br/>-Gluten Free & Vegan options (thank god)

Over the past four months I have visited this place about 4 times and never again. At first I thought the staff was just having a bad day but this is the worst location ever. I have eaten at other Works locations and you would wonder if they are the same franchise.  As I live in the area I have stopped in on different occasions and have noticed in the past four months that the food has gone way down in quality on most days. There are 2 chefs in the kitchen that seem to know how to make a great meal, but I have not seen them in very much, one is tall and fairly young but knows his stuff, the other is a female. The serving staff told me their names were Kane and Leas (both are great very efficient at their jobs) The remaining kitchen staff seem more interested in not being there than cooking a good tasting meal.  <br/><br/>I have decided that if I choose to return to this location for a meal I will attempt to see if either of these 2 chefs are working, other wise I plan to steer very clear of the place.

Definitely the place to go if you're craving burgers. The Works has practically an infinite number of combinations, with multiple patty and bun options too (vegetarian and gluten free included). They have everything classic burgers  to weird (but delicious) topping combos you'd never think would work together. Very industrial feel; the walls have bits of screws and cans mixed into the concrete, the drinks come in measuring cups, the food is served in a metal tray etc. I have never had a bad experience in the dozen or so times I have eaten here, although I have heard other not-so-positive stories from friends.

There are so many options to choose from for everyone. There's lots of veggie options and gluten free too. The beer selection is great, all local breweries too!

Though there is a lot of meat in the burger, it isn't very good. The bun fell apart on me, too. For the price, the worst burger I've had. My wife agrees.<br/><br/>The spicy chips and the fries are very good. The poutine is so-so - a heavy, flavourful gravy not typical of poutine but still good.<br/><br/>We came with kids, and the free ice cream with our kids meal was their highlight.<br/><br/>Service at this location was poor. We arrived before 3, were given the lunch menu, but by the time we ordered it was just after 3 so the manager refused to give us the lunch prices.<br/>We also pointed out we were in a hurry, but they did not tell us the burgers take 20 minutes to prepare.<br/><br/>Atmosphere is nice and fitting for a burger joint.

1 of the best burger joints in town. From the rings to the burger & the milkshakes... never disappoints!!! THE MILKSHAKES ARE AWESOME.<br/>Every time I go, I try a different topping, some I didn't fancy but majority have been YUM. I just wish it was bigger so we don't have to wait in line for too long when it's busy.

ALWAYS - rotten vegetable. I am working for a company where we order lunch every week from this restaurant, and after 19 months, i always got a rotten vegetables and hard bread, never got a fresh food from them, all my colleagues complaining about this too, we are in the process of reporting a complaint to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, hopefully this will resolve the issue or at least close it so we do not get rotten food any more

Not sure anymore.... Service is always great but the food seems to be on the decline. The kitchen also made us the wrong fries. I will keep searching for Ottawa's best burger.. The shakes are great however!

Before coming here, I had never eaten a burger from a restaurant before. Boy did The Works ever set the standard! I ordered the "War Pig" burger with a Caesar salad and fries. The burger was phenomenal and the fries were great. The Caesar salad was nothing special, but tasty. The croutons were awkwardly large. Fair prices for the portions. Friendly staff and a interesting and comfortable environment.

You need to work on your food. It was a mediocre burger, i heard it was good but it was ehhhh. everybody said it was amazing and it wasnt. also the way the food is served is very silly, it doesnt add anything new to the table.

If you are craving for burger this is the place! It's a little expensive for burger but they are very big. The look of the place is "special" but what do you expect when you want a burger! This is a good fast food restaurant.

Really good burgers. My boyfriend have I went here a couple of weeks ago and it was a really nice dinner. He had a burger with an over-easy egg on top, and I had one with smokey BBQ sauce. They were both delicious. The sheer amount of menu items threw us for a loop though, it took a while to read them all and see what we wanted. The appetizer (steamrollers) were just like Anajitos from Montana's, delicious.<br/><br/>I was impressed they still accepted a coupon for a free burger that I was given almost three years ago because of a crappy experience, I brought it long just in case because there was no expiry date. <br/><br/>Overall, the atmosphere was great, food was hot and delicious, our server was really nice and quick. i'm glad we gave it another chance.

Must do for burgers!. Great burgers, great beer, great atomosphere, great service, great restaurant. 'nuff said.

I dream about these burgers. I've been to The Works several times with my boyfriend and his family and while majority of the time we've had to wait in a line, it's been totally worth it. The menu is quirky and fun - it's hard to choose because most of them sound amazing and you literally want to try a new one everytime you go (my favourite is the Dead Ringer- Bbq smoked brisket, smokey bbq sauce, jack cheese & an onion ring). It's a little bit more expensive than some other places but the quality of ingredients, and the size of the portions make it worth it. The milkshakes (get the ryan ashbury!) in the pyrex measuring cups is reason to visit if you're not feeling a burger (but seriously, get one). The options are endless and the sweet potato fries are so damn good. Please do yourselves a favour and go! I was so happy the day I found out they were opening across Ontario, that's just how good The Works is.

Love to go again n again. I love going here for hamburgers. The choice of different types of meat or veggie burgers is great, and you have hundreds of toppings to choose from so you can't possibly go wrong. The prices are great and the beer choices are not bad. But it's a must for any Ottawa foodie.

Tasty and Satisfying. After not visiting the works for about a year I decided that it was time to return. <br/>I visited a week ago with my girlfriend and I was not disappointed. We arrived around 4:30 on a Saturday to find the restaurant about 50% full. As usual we were warmly greeted and shown to our table and our waitress inquired about our drink order. After she brought our drink we ordered the remainder of our meal.<br/><br/>The Order: 1 chocolate peanut butter shake, 1 Ryan Ashbury's shake (oreo cookie, peanut butter and caramel), 1 Tower-O-Rings, 1 Ho Hum #5 (cheese, bacon, mushrooms) with a gluten free bun and spicy die-cut chips, and 1 Smokey Mountain (Smokey bbq sauce, jack cheese & bacon strips) with salad.<br/><br/>The milkshakes: I usually go for the oreo cookie milkshake but decided to try out the Ryan Ashbury shake and I was not disappointed. The milkshake was one of the best I had ever had. The peanut butter and caramel complimented the oreo's extremely well. My girlfriend's shake was also very good. I opted for the small/kids size (8oz) ainstead of getting a medium (16oz) as 16oz of milkshake + a burger is too much too handle sometimes. <br/><br/>The Tower-O-Rings is about 12-15 breaded onion rings on a vertical stick with two dipping sauces. The onion rings are mediocre as the onion tends to come out of the breading. Also to be noted is that the rings are breaded as opposed to battered. The ranch dipping sauce was your average ranch however I was very turned off the chipotle mayo dipping sauce. I love having chipotle mayo dipping sauce with sweet potato fries and assumed that they would be good with rings however this mayo seemed to be a little off compared to other mayo's that I have had before.<br/><br/>Now onto the burgers, the smokey mountain was as usual delicious with its smokey BBQ sauce and a perfectly cooked patty. It was good but it wasn’t great. My girlfriend enjoyed her Ho Hum #5 but the highlight of her main course was the gluten free bun and the die cut chips. The chips were excellent, they were fresh and hot homemade potato chips. She also really enjoyed the gluten free bun and said it tasted just as good if not better than a regular bun. Although an additional $0.97 it was worth it. <br/>Overall a satisfying meal and I will return however only if I am craving a good burger or a milkshake.

Bad burger. I'm not a fan of burgers, but tried to get a take out order last week. <br/><br/>I placed my order, and waited for another 30 mnutes, to get the first order right, as had to be dairy free, Since they put cheese on one of the burgers. <br/><br/>Never got a reduction in price, just charged for the burgers, very bad service. I will go to Hintongurger instead.

A bit pricey but worth it!. The 5/0 Growler is superb and their shakes are to die for!

Amazing burgers and friendly staff they make you feel like 20 again. <br/>The onion ring tower was nice but the crust need salt and the dips where good.<br/>a bad thing will be that they rush you out no chance of enjoying your meal but to be understand with the line up at the door.<br/>toilets not to clean

Delicious burgers and heavenly onion rings!. I am a huge fan of The WORKS after having tried it once. The burgers were cooked perfectly - the meat was juicy and all the flavours mixed really well. The onion rings were done well - there were actually onions inside with a lot of dips to choose from! I also loved the fact that it was served in a metal tray, which adds to the awesomeness of this place.<br/><br/>Customer service was great. Our waiter quickly took our orders and provided us with everything that we needed. Although it did take a while to get our food, it was a great experience since it was busy.<br/><br/>The food here is pricey, but it is definitely worth a shot!

Gotta collect them all. The Works is an institution. The décor is a sort of faux-kitsch garage/industrial setup, and the food relishes this kind of messy, dirty setup. Drinks are served in their famous measuring cups. Burgers are served on checkboard picnic-style paper inside metal sheet baking pans.<br/><br/>The menu consists of around 100 different eclectic burger types. You really need to keep coming back again and again to try different burgers to see what works. Among the stranger choices are burgers with peanut butter (the peanut butter ends up melted enough that it's more like a peanut butter sauce), bananas, pineapple, eggs (common in Japan but not in North America!). Burgers are served on white or whole wheat, made of beef, turkey, mushroom, veggie pattie, chicken, or elk. The burgers are well-cooked and the meat is very nice, but they go pretty easy on the seasoning so you might find it overall bland--recommend asking them to add salt or extra seasoning to the burger or choosing a menu option with more flavourful toppings. Sides are a variety of pub fare, but I will mention the die-cut potato slices which are nice, a little lighter than the french fries, and go well with the wide variety of dips offered. Burgers cost between $11-13.<br/><br/>The Works also has a huge and interesting cold drink menu. Milkshakes, floats, and ice/fruit smoothies are highly recommended. The milkshakes are very creamy and have a strong flavour. I recommend the Mint Chocolate. The Peanut Butter and Chocolate shake is also worth a try--it literally tastes like drinking Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. Holy moly.<br/><br/>Can't say I recommend the onion rings, but every receipt comes with a web address for a survey. Fill out the survey and you get the onion rings for free the next time you come, so if you're going to order them, do it this way.

Awesome. I've been to this place many times for lunch. Right in the heart of the Glebe, The Works is an amazing place to go to if you're looking for great burgers! There are a couple of this place all across the city. Give it a try.

Meidocre. I find myself going back, which is obviously a plus. Hoverer, there are quite a few things I do not love about this chain. It takes a long while to get your food. Now I understand living where we do that meat has to be cooked through to well done, which is fine and I understand the wait involved. However, there are so many better burgers in the city... and just on this street that are far superior and much cheaper. It's not all bad. The restaurant has a good atmosphere, friendly service, and great beverage options. It just seems like every time I go in there I spend way more than I feel I should be for what I get.

Amazing!. So much selection! You have to keep coming back and try them all! I ordered the Crappy Tire - it has pineapple in it - amazing! I was so full afterwards I can barely walk.<br/>The decor of the place is pretty cool - construction decor all around. Your drinking glasses are measuring cups! :)<br/>Service is pretty good - the waitress is very attentive and accommodating.

Expensive burger joint. Glebe location was packed on a Sunday night. Really chooching. People in Ottawa are really into this place for some reason, I figured the hype would have died down by now when everyone figured out it was just a hamburger. Great hamburger, lots of variety and a few other cool interesting combos I want to try. The sweet potato fries are okay, certainly not the best I've ever had. Onion rings are great but someone needs to tell them they aren't breaded in gold, they're just onion rings. The tower of onion rings is $10, and you get about 10 rings for that price. $1 a ring is a little much, you can get chicken wings for cheaper. To upgrade your meal from fries to rings, it's $3.50 onto an already somewhat expensive burger/fries, really guys?

Fun food, and warm friendly service. Love the huge selection of burgers, the sweet potato fries, and, if I've been to the gym a lot, their tower-o'-rings and their yummy old-fashioned milkshakes which come in oodles of flavours.<br/><br/>Of the several The Works I've been to, this one's my favourite.

Hunka Hunka. This burger features peanut butter and banana and was very good. I just had to try something different as I try to be as open to new things as possible. I would recommend this burger.

Good burgers, room for improvement. Lots of options at the works and some creative combinations for alot of the burgers. <br/><br/>The onion rings are great as are many of the appetizers. <br/><br/>I have tried several burgers and the only thing I can say is that some times they have been extremely over cooked. Also some of the combinations are just not worth having on the menu. <br/><br/>As a laugh, I decided to get the Kraft Dinner burger and it was a waste of money. <br/><br/>With the number of gourmet burger places popping up, The Works stands above most . If they would just stop cooking the burgers to death I think it would really elevate the experience.

Redonkulous menu. Went to The Works in Ottawa's Glebe neighbourhood and my girlfriend should have warned me that the menu would be huge. Not just huge, just redonkulous. You'd be there for 30 minutes reading and re-reading and choosing and filtering what kind of burger you want, so I gave up. I had the sweet potato fries platter, which also came with their in-house cut fries and 3 different dips. Drinks are served in large baking measuring cups, which reminds me of how O'Toole's used to serve drinks in Mason jars back in the 80s. <br/><br/>I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a number of locations in Ontario and are in growth mode, locating in what looks like college/university towns. They soooo need to come to Peterborough because this cat will either have to go to Kingston or Oakville (if it's open yet) or Guelph to try a burger again. They let you take home menus, which are printed on heavy kraft paper and the burgers are named for different political or social themes. There were just so many though. So if you don't mind reading a list of amazing sounding burgers with ingredients that are mindbending, you should get your ass a location of The Works near where you are.

Good food, Terrible business?. Was 1/2 full of patrons when we arrived. We waited an hour to eat! Food came out staggered among our group of 8.<br/>Some terrible coordination and unsatisfactory flow. <br/>One dish was an error. <br/>Payment process was even slow. Was itching to get the hell out by the end!<br/><br/>Burgers are ok but othing special by comparison to MANY. More of a "food for the masses" with excess flavors, than a quality gourmet burger I have never eaten here and this terrible operation will not get me back. <br/>Onion rings were tasty, but still nothing over the top.<br/><br/>Quality: 3/5, <br/>Value/portions: 3/5 (I don't find it too expensive like others are saying), <br/>Service: 1/5, <br/>Ambiance: 2/5 <br/><br/>Over all: 1 out of 5 (long wait and no attention to the fact that it was long by front end staff did them in for me).

Not good for vegan. It's a great place for meat eaters and non-serious vegetarians, but given that all veggie patties are cooked on the same meaty grill, this doesn't pass my test.

Still, good but overated!. Once again, I must say this place is overated. It goes by the best burger, the amazing towel of onion rings, etc. It is always full and I still can't figure it out. Of course, this place is fun, the menu is funny and interesting, good decor and good service, but the burger itself, needs some work to do. Regarding the onion ring tower, again fun... but it taste like... onion rings... nothing special.<br/><br/>I go because it's fun and I like to try the different kinds of toppings and sauce but I always leave with a good burger... not the BEST burger.

Meh. I had been craving a burger for a while before going to The Works. Because of a video of Summer in Ottawa predominantly featured The Works, I had really high expectations. The variety of burgers offered here is really impressive, but the experience/taste did not quite live up to the hype. I would go back just to try different burgers, but there are other places that offer better burgers in Ottawa.

Overpriced. Why is it $13 for a burger and fries? Only in Ottawa could they get away with this. The burger was OK but they didn't give enough fries and you just leave this place disappointed. They spent too much on the presentation with quirky light bulb salt shakers and not enough on giving customers good value for their money.

Great Burger!. Excellent burger, fries, and the onion rings are crazy! This place is definitely good to try once in a while, given that its quite heart clogging! Other than that, if you don't pay attention you can quickly run up a big bill.

The Works =

Why #1 on Urbanspoon?. Super long wait (over an hour), then get crammed in, then get slow service, and then have trouble leaving because the front lobby is crammed with hipsters waiting to move into our seat.<br/>Seems most of the reviews on here are negative but the works still manages to get #1 spot on the urbanspoon list. Maybe it's time to find a new food review website.

VERY exprensive!. I am not going to add much more that what was on here already. OK, the burgers themselves deserve a 10 for the bold choices offered. The bun is surprisingly NOT toasted and did not seem bigger than Mc Donalds or harveys. The portion of fries is rather small. Cramped space, GREAT welcome by the male host but it takes a rather long time to get your burger.

The longest menu!!. I really love going to works if I have a craving for burgers. But there is always a huge lineup, so I recommend looking through the menu while you wait in line. There are over 200 burger combinations, some more creative than others. I like to look for my favorite ingredience like avocado, roated red peppers, brie or havarti, mushrooms, and onions. It's rare to find them all in one burger, but that's the fun of choosing what you are in the mood for!<br/>You can get crazy things like penut butter, pineapple or even eggs... obviously not on the same burger! (Yuk).<br/>The onion rings are to die for and help with the long wait. They worn you ahead of time that the wait is long, sinc ethey have to ensure that the fresh beef/chichken/turkey/buffalo (or was it bison?) patties are cooked well.<br/>They also have amazing milkshakes and free refills on drinks!<br/>The drinks come in a cute measuring cup and the decor is quite masculine and fun to look at!

Usually a wait as the burgers take 25 min to prepare. choice or beef, organic beef, vegan, elk, turkey, chicken. the decor is amazing. salt and pepper shakers are light bulbs. I'll people watch you later

Sloppy Burgers. I ordered a turkey burger ( Toppings: Big Ben Plus) with mash potatoes.<br/><br/>Price: 1/5<br/>Taste: 1.5 /5<br/>Service 4/5<br/><br/>I wasn't able to taste the turkey from the meat which hints either frozen meat or maybe not very fresh meat. The patty was Dry, VERY dry as well as burnt, they must've pressed all the juices out the burgers while they were still cooking. The bun was actually below average and the mash potatoes had no flavour what so ever. <br/><br/>Overall: 2/5

Definitely not a secret that this place is great. Everyone loves the works, even vegetarians! But the secret is that the Three Ring Binder is easily the best thing on the menu. Love it!

Fun, Friendly and Affordable!. What a fantastic hidden gem! I love this place, from the awesome atmosphere, friendly and outgoing staff to the zany menu and unique food presentation! Fair prices, HUGE portions, family friendly, I give this restaurant two thumbs up!

Great Burgers & Service, Pricey. Great variety of burgers here, and the one's I've tried have all been really good. Once our burgers came really pink so we sent it back, they gave us new burgers, paid for our appetizer, and gave us two vouchers for free burgers, so we were very happy with their service. The tower of rings is my favourite, with chipotle mayo.<br/><br/>The only cons is that the restaurant is small, and always busy, so you'll have to wait to be seated nearly every time. Also the food is fairly expensive.

Somebody needs to love the burger. If some one is looking for a burger experience extraordinaire, I would certainly say try The Works. I think we are lucky to have something like that in Ottawa and good on Ion Aimers for working so hard at it. I also appreciate how he tries to give back to the community too. I hear he is intense so that adds a nice balance!

Expensive. Good. But expensive.. Like most reviewers, I agree. The price of the burger with fries are on the $13-15 range which is very expensive for a burger.<br/><br/>The burger meat is of good quality, and the fries were excellent, especially the sweet potato fries. The price is *almost* of typical bar food if out late and you have one of those burger cravings. But... I'm not neglecting the price, it still is high!!<br/><br/>I do like these burgers, but truthfully it is an expensive dining place that I would much prefer to spend elsewhere if craving a burger.

Wow that's alot of hype. Well one thing they do REALLY well at the works is marketing. Everyone seems to have heard of the "works". with a name like that, it must be amazing right? Well i voted as "don't like". It's not that I find the burgers bad, They are ok. I just find this sort of thing frustrating. Most of the effort was put into marketing and very little into the food and the dinning experience. My first complaint is the TIGHT quarters that you are expected to eat in. That is probably the biggest reason why I don't like to go here. I find it a bit of an insult to the customer. To me, the message that I get is, you are our customer, you love us so we can get away with cramming you in here like sardines. You feel like the people next to you are as close to you as the person you want to be eating with. I think you have more space in most food courts. <br/><br/>The second thing thats a turn off are the prices. i just find the burger platers overpriced. You get very little fries. And they sort of conceal that cleverly by serving everything in this tin tray with a seperate little dish for your fries. You end up with more serving vessels than food. Also, that tray is just awful to eat out of. Why should I twist my wrists to akwardly dig out my burger when people have been using the perfect device for years, ...a plate. I guess the intent is for the guest to be impressed with the interesting method of presenting the food. Or maybe its the most efficient use of the limited amount of space you have on your table. The first thought that comes to my mind is: this is a stupid way to serve a burger. <br/><br/>The food itself, the burger's i've had were very tasty. Having a wide choice of toppings is interesting. Service has always been very appropriate. Energetic and friendly waiters that are eager to please. <br/><br/>When I dine out, I'm looking for quality, value, service and atmosphere. So, for me, the score is Quality: 8/10, Value: 3/10, Service: 8/10, Atmosphere: 2/10

Went there for the first time! I freakin love it... A must order are the onion rings... Yuuuummmm! For sure I'm coming back!

Love the KD. Love side dish of Kraft Dinner that I was able to order as a side. This alone is worth the trip.

Wasn't impressed. I went here with friends, and although they love it - I wasn't really impressed. But then again, I got a BBQ inspired burger. Perhaps if I had gotten the one with peanut butter on the bun I might have thought overwise. No - probably not.

The Works. You really do get worked over here.. Dry meat, thinly sliced extras. Fries were good. To much hype for this place.

C'mon!!!. If you are going to specialize in burgers at least know how to make one that is now gritty, dry and bland.<br/><br/>I've yet to have a good experience at "The Works" and you are crammed in like sardines.<br/><br/>The only thing I can say about "The Works" is that they are consistent. Consistently letting me down.<br/><br/>I will never return. OFFICIALLY on the list!!!

Always Go Back!. I am an Ottawa native. Moved to BC five years ago. Every time I am back in Ottawa, it's my first restaurant stop. I have been around the world, and the Organic Beef patty is the world's best burger. Guaranteed. If you come hungry, definitely get a tower of rings so you don't die during the well-worth-it wait!

Have yet to find a better burger anywhere, and trust me I mean anywhere.

I usually prefer to just go to their website and download a menu, then call in my order for pickup...then there's no waiting for the tables. Great variety of burgers...yet to try one I didn't enjoy.

Interesting selection. Although it took awhile to get a table, and the order but the burgers I've had so far make up for it. Price for the burgers are a little steep.

Disaster. We were there a few weeks ago. It took more than an hour (at 2:30 pm) to get our very overpriced food. Staff friendly enough, food is very good but that does not make up for the outrageous prices and the loooooong wait for our food. Never again.

Huge burgers, huge tab. I've only been here once and I really don't plan on returning. Come on, really, 20-25 bucks for a burg?Granted it's a big big burger but how big does a burger need to be before one is satisifed or feels like a complete glutton. I'm more than willing to throw down a good chunk of cash for a good meal but 10 bucks for 10 onion rings?! I like the way that measuring cups are used in place of cups or glasses and the assortment of interesting burgers in terms of both toppings and choice of patty (try the venison) is impressive. The milkshakes are very good. Overall, I have to say no to this burger bistro.

Pricey but tasty. It's a bit pricey but you get a huge burger and chips/fries. The decor is very unique and so are the burgers! Try the one with peanut butter, it's delicious!<br/>Parking is a bit of a pain obviously.

Simple food simply overpriced. The concept is excellent take your basic burger and up it with a wild array of toppings, unfortunately the price point pushes the whole thing simply over the top for what you get.<br/><br/>Add to the fact the buns are dry but do get moistened by the excessive grease of the meat.<br/><br/>They also claim they can accomodate Gluten Free diets but our experience showed they kitchen staff do not nor have they been educated on how to actually meet this request.

This is a great place for burgers, you should try the milkshakes they're very good. And the price on the burgers is the price it should be because this is not Mcdonalds.

Long wait. Flavourless burgers. Terrible fries. The only thing that this place has going for or is the unique toppings. Otherwise you will find much better burgers elsewhere.

Go to the st-laurent location. The service is excellent and it's a little less crowded. The works is by far the best burger joint in town. You can't go wrong.

Best burger ever - Jamaican Jerk / beef patty. We had to wait an hour to be seated, 6 of us, but was well worth it!

I really tried to like this place but usually leave somewhat disappointed and with a lighter wallet. The burgers are big n'greasy but lack flavor. From this point on I think I'll start searching for a new gourmet burger spot.

After a couple of trips it's just a burger....price is fine since it is a big patty, but just not a wow taste from the meat

Amazing burgers, especially the MEC burger with avocado on it!! Don't forget to try the Tower of Rings and a milkshake!! Just be sure to hit the gym afterwards, but The Works is totally worth it! Great food, great service, great atmosphere!

I love all the different choices of toppings! I love their yams fries! Definetely worth every penny

This is the most disgusting burger on earth! The patty is mushy and loaded with black pepper (what are they hidding?) and the buns are cheap and nasty. The only good thing on the menu are the shakes and at that price, they'd better be!
