Lets start with the good things… the place is sooo beautiful and the teas taste fairly good. I’d give 4/5 for that.
However:
I ordered a lava cake which it was frozen when was brought to my table (photos available) it’s literally called LAVA cake it’s suppose to be heated with melted runny chocolate batter! So I sent it back and it took them a good 40 min to bring it back to me. (They forgot about it and I reminded them that I had a cake…) they brought me a new cake which I’m thankful for that but the cake tasted old and stale…
I ordered a pesto crepe and they took 50 min to bring it the quality was average but not bad at all. Again, they forgot about my crepe as well… I don’t really know that they are actually doing it on purpose or just can’t remember things :(
I ordered a peanut butter cup which was a 5/5.
The service is really weak, there is literally no staff checking on the customers that are dining in.
All in all, super beautiful place, really bad service and average food.

What a gem 💎 of a spot this is. Many times I've been to this strip Mall and thought it was just coffee ☕ and baked goods. 🧐 Boy was I wrong!!!
They have a large eat in dining room that is beautifully 🕰 🎭 designed and decorated. It takes you to Paris, to a quaint little Cafe.
The crepes were perfectly 👌 done, strawberries and bananas 🍌 I met a friend here for brunch and we chatted for 2 hours. We also let with amazing pastries 🥐 and sweets. Great service. We will definately be back!!

Hidden Gem, nice relaxing atmosphere for talking and eating delicious crepes and coffee. Tried both the savoury and sweet crepes and a cappuccino. Worth it, just wish it was closer to me to go more often.

Great place to have good coffee and conversations. The food is good too. The veg fries is a must try! Also, tried the fettuccine pasta and crepe. Crepe was OK though.

They tables and chairs are fancy. However the food was not ve try special. My kids enjoyed the crepes.
It is a good place for friends get-together or business meeting, or even a family dine out.

Amazing Jem in Barrhaven.
The staff were courteous and patient with me as I tried to decide to what to order. After all it was my first visit and it was a surprise find. I ordered a latte with a double shot and the Ultimate French Toast Crepe. The coffee was smooth but strong, just what I wanted. The barista was very artistic with the top of my coffee and the chef made an excellent crepe. It was filled to overflowing with banana and strawberries. It had just the correct amount of icing sugar and maple syrup. The the crepes themselves were nothing like I’ve had before. The thin layer of egg between the crepe layers gave them a surprise texture and flavour. It was excellent, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Nicely decorated space with lots of comfortable seating. GPS had a hard time getting me here by car, so make sure you pay attention when you get close. Staff gave great food recommendations and the food came very fast.

GREAT cafe! Cafe Cristal is my go to spot for studying, meetings, or social chat with friends and great coffee.
Always clean, and the staff are super friendly.
The owner is a true Gem and goes above and beyond to make her customers happy.
Can't wait for my next visit.

Beautiful decor, humble atmosphere, lively staff, delicious food (the apple tarts... *swoon*), tasteful drinks... I am convinced that this place can do no wrong. Hands down the best café I have ever been to. I am lucky enough to live just around the corner, and I am there almost every weekend! Always a great place to bring a friend to chat, do homework, or even just hang out by yourself. I cannot say enough good about Café Cristal.

Although amazing in the past, the high tea is not so good anymore. We had it yesterday, the mini sandwiches bread was dry on the outside, soggy inside, the profiterolis were stale and the sweet selections that used to include macarons now has a square mini cheesecake (like costco); an mini eclair and a profiteroli.
The blueberry scones were amazing as well as the cream and strawberry sauce.
I will keep comingo but not for the high tea, sorry.

We love this cafe! They have a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. We ordered their sweet crepe with caramalized peaches and it was delicious! It was a generous portion that we were able to share, which was great since we both could not get enough of this crepe. They have lots of different tea options to choose from and even gelato! We look forward to returning in the near future.

5 Stars for Cafe Cristal and Sophie and her team<br/>Not only do you provide the most amazing product in your desserts, crepes, cakes, cupcakes and macarons, the quality of your staff is outstanding. I am from Toronto and trying to provide a surprise for my parents birthday in Ottawa. Uber failed to send a driver and i was panicked. So, Sophie came to the rescue and quickly prepared and even better surprise and personally drove the order to them. I was in tears so grateful that anyone would do something like this for a complete stranger. I hope Uber reimburses her for the cost of the double order. Sophie is a superstar and you must go to the Cafe to experience the incredible fresh homemade desserts and her outstanding service. Thank you Anita Marshall

Decorations are adorable and the food is really good (except the hot chocolate which was kind of a disappointment). Service is inconsistent... The first time I went the people behind the counter were kind of awkward and seemed like they didn't want to be there but the second time the service was lovely. It's a bit expensive but I would recommend it to anyone especially in barrhaven where selections are pretty limited.

Do not go to their Carlingwood mall location. Do not work for this company. My sister got hired was told to give in her two weeks at her previous job, she hardly got hours and she was then let go via TEXT MSG! They still have't paid her for her training and worst of all the manager/owner has ignored her calls to get an explaining and payment for her hours worked. She's a full time student and can't afford to be jerked around. I do not think this is how you run a business Ahmed. In hindsight this might be a good thing, because fortunately for us, the spot they are in is tragically cursed. I love supporting local but I can't support a business that takes advantage of their staff.

Best cafe in Barrhaven! Food is always fresh, coffee is amazing (usually get Americanos) and service is fantastic. Definitely recommend their crepes as well. All in all my favourite coffee shop!

Excellent ambiance that is classy and intimate. The baked treats are professional pastries and there are also crêpes and gelatto to be had. My personal favourite is the hazelnut latte with the pretty design done in the foam. Highly recommended!

Very poor service. We went one hour before closing. The cashier refused to give coffee mugs but offered only take out paper cups. The cashier was not friendly and she was indifferent. <br/><br/>When asked about high tea prices the answers were incomplete. <br/><br/>Decor is very good. Coffee tastes very good.

I absolutely love this place. Amazing look, and amazing coffee. I tried the chicken pesto crepe on the weekend and was the best crepes I tried. Coming back again for sure.

I love this place, I've had a few different latte's, coffees and treats and am yet to be disappointed. Friendly staff, beautiful roomy place. The mini macarons are hands down my favourite though, you have to try them!!!

Hands down, the best cortado north of Manayunk (yes even better than cortado I have had in NYC). Cortado can be done wrong and taste like or look like a latte. Café Cristal made no mistake is making this gem; velvety and smooth. I have been twice and also enjoyed a well-made macchiato, not as difficult to master as cortado, but just as important to get proportions of steamed or whipped milk, cream and espresso just right. One of the few places where you can get cortado in Ottawa and where what you order is what you expect. Impeccable service and first rate espresso.
