Boko Bakery is a nice little bakery shop on Elgin street in Ottawa. The cookies are well decorated (I fell in love with the Snoopy and the Grinch)! There's even a Ottawa Senators and Redblacks logo cookies. I believe the design change on a regular basis. I also grabbed freshly baked croissant filled and drizzled with chocolate!! The service is very kind and friendly! Definitely recommanding this place to you all!!
I came across Boko while going to brunch with friends. I got some cookies to take home and wow! These are the best cookies I've even eaten. The Coffee Crisp cookie is stellar. You MUST try this bakery.
Hands down best cookies in the city. If you're around Elgin I recommend a quick stop at Boko Bakery.
I love this place! Never disappoints! Great cookie designs and flavours, also amazing savory pizza buns!
Superb family bakery in town and my favorite overall. The Sakiyama family have been running this Elgin Street institution for ages, and it seems their cookies have really taken off. My favorite remains the chocolate croissants and have been for over a decade.
Count on friendly great service in English or French, even Japanese!
Dreams Take Flight Ottawa Gala cookies we’re both beautiful, and absolutely delicious!!! We will be visiting very soon!
Used them for my baby shower and other occasions always great service and even better products!
I can't get enough of their chocolate bar cookies. It's a rather unhealthy addiction I must say. Try them at your own risk :-)
This bakery is amazing. My parents started taking me back in the 80s when it was in the Byward Market and I've been going ever since. Anything they make with ham and cheese is amazing. Heck, everything they make is awesome.
I have ordered custom cookies from Boko Bakery for my children's birthday parties on multiple occasions. The cookies are always delicious and they look incredible! The service is stellar. Highly recommended!
above and beyond service...totally made the event i was putting together. thank you!
Best cookies in town!! I have yet to try the other baked goods, but I am addicted to their cookies! Such a kind family too, I've only ever received excellent customer service!
OMG the most amazingly delicious cookies ever!!!!!!!!!
Best Cookies I ever had!. Delicious!. I can't wait to go back!
The pizzas are great for lunch. Mmmmm spicy cheese
Beautiful cookies that tasted so good! This is my favorite bakery!
The candy bar cookies are to die for.
Each so rich in its own way.
My favourites are the coffee crisp cookie and the smores cookie.
Definitely worth the visit if you like sweets.
Boko Bakery is a little family-owned shop on Elgin Street that offers a fun assortment of cookies and baked goods such as bread, tarts, croissants, and Japanese desserts such as melon-pan. Throughout the year Boko Bakery offers a wide range of cookies, with the chocolate cookies (M&M, Kit Kat, S'mores, Nutella etc) and sugar cookies being the most popular. The adorable sugar cookies at Boko Bakery are particularly specular as there are always several different types of beautifully decorated cookies such as characters from popular TV shows or movies, Canadiana themed cookies such as the Canadian maple leaf or Senators logo, and seasonal cookies too.
Boko bakery is a small bakery that does a variety of cookies and treats, including a rotation of cookies decorated with fun, often season images. It is unfortunately very small with no area to sit down and is often a bit difficult to navigate when even slightly busy. The staff usually keeps to themselves, but are helpful if needed.
This is a japanese bakery, so croissants won't be authentic. They are delicious and reasonably priced however! They are more doughy than regular croissants. The cookies are just ok, creative definitely, but I prefer their breads. The younger girl who works weekends has a shitty attitude though.
The best place to buy cookies in Ottawa! This little spot on Elgin st. has a great selection of cookies. Every great kind of chocolate bar is available in cookie format, any of which are delicious! If you are going for the super sweet enjoy the cookie sandwich that is the cotton candy cookie. This place was one of the first places we were introduced to when we moved to Ottawa and it remains a favourite after all the places we have checked out this summer!
Wanted to make a big order for croissants. We were worried of how many so we wanted 40 to be on the safe side. Croissants were delicious and flaky and the service was excellent. Couldn't be more happy! Try the Nutella cookies
They were quick at responding to emails and phone calls about our cookies for our wedding. They gave us ideas for the cookies and made our some free samples to try. We have been buying their cookies for a long time for all celebrations but making a large order for our wedding was great. They were done on time and all individually wrapped. Everyone at the wedding was talking about them and loved them. Would recommend this bakery to everyone! A hidden gem in Ottawa.
Thanks again Boko! Kyle and Jaymee
I love the cupcakes here! Walking around in this place always makes me happy & hungry. Give this place a try, it has all the makings of a bakery-staple.
I always stop by when I'm in the area to check out which characters are on the cookies this time. Their special candy bar cookies are excellent. Chocolate croissants are a fav too. There is usually some kind of deal like buy 6 get one free. Cash and debit only.
The most adorably-decorated sugar cookies, and great-tasting, too! They have a wide variety of cookies (chocolate bar-themed, jam-filled and more traditional ones) and also offer savoury pastries and breads. The staff is super great and they even offer a buy-6-get-one-free deal on their cookies and croissants. A bit higher-priced, so not an everyday indulgence, but well worth it for a special occasion or on a day you want to treat yourself!
Amazing sugar cookies; tastes great and has a variety of cute designs. Their breads are also very reasonably priced and delicious. Their other cookies are quite good, however they are nothing you couldn't get at another bakery and a bit more expensive.
One of my absolute FAVOURITE places in Ottawa. I always buy box of cookies and bring home with me every time I visit. My favourite is the s‘ more cookie and any of their sugar cookies are amazing! It’s definitely a must-try. I will update with a photo next time because I already finished all my cookies!
Tiny hole-in-the-way bakery with a nice selection of fresh goods. I did not find the cornbread I had hoped for (to be fair, a bit of a specialty item), but I did pick up a tasty cookie. They have tons of cute cookies that would make great gifts... Simpsons, Angry Birds, cute animals, holiday themed... I bought a zombie teddy bear as a snack. The cookie tasted fresh and was well made. The building appeared clean and well maintained. The service was quick and friendly. I will be stopping here again before I leave to grab some fun cookies for friends and family!
What a great little bakery. The sign out front is very cute. " cookie or no cookie" I am glad I decided on cookie. The Mom and daughter were so nice. I will definatley go back just because of the service. On top of the service. The best ginger molasses cookie!!
It is with sadness that I’m writing this review, after 36 YEARS of baking, Boko Bakery will be closing its doors on Elgin Street at the end of this month. If you haven’t had the opportunity to savour the quality of this bakery, it is simply a must to add to your Fabulous Food Finds list or just run in to get a snack to go with your daily coffee. This quaint Japanese family took a delicious French traditional bakery and transformed it into an artistic and flavourful masterpiece. Being raised in a French family, I have had the opportunity to sample many croissants over the years... Yoko, without a doubt, makes THE BEST croissants in the Ottawa area. Her son Jun and wife Rieko are also marvellously talented with producing original sugar cookies of your favorite seasonal icon or video game characters with flavor, style and attention to detail. These delicious and beautiful deserts are a pleasant treat for a simple pleasure or indulgence. Thank you to Yoko and her family for bringing us your delicious breads and desserts.
This place is cool. I saw their Pickle Rick cookies through the window but didn't buy one. I went back a few days later and there were no more, but I managed to pick up a terrified, crying Morty cookie, and it's delicious! The establishment smells incredible, and the service was also very pleasant.
