Looked up a good place everywhere for a good place for brunch and search was narrowed down to Bobby's Table. There is parking behind that is reserved for BT which we took advantage of.
It was about 10:30ish on a Friday morning. We expected that it would be not busy, but we were wrong. All the tables packed and a few people ahead of us. We were seated in about 15 minutes or so.
The coffee was good, not strong the way we like it, but was the right temperature. The kids had milk and they were LARGE glasses.
We had a breakfast special (for $4 and for $5 with home fries), an Eggs Benedict on spinach with a latke, a Vegetarian Omelette, a Belle Vegetarian Club Sandwich, and a Breakfast Special with Home Fries.
The latke was a bit over done, but the poached eggs and the Benedict sauce was good. A little more seasonings would have been better. The Vegetarian Omelette was stuffed with veggies. The size of the omelette was BIG. The toasts in all orders were perfectly done. The special with scrambled was good. The home fries in all the orders were amazing. Perfectly fried, seasoned with a bit of mixed herbs was out of this world. The Belle Vegetarian sandwich was good. The sandwich position was huge and generously piled. The avocado mentioned in menu was hardly tasted, it was present, but could not detect on the palate. A fresh thick slice or mashed would have made it.
Also we were served by the owner Robert (Bobby) itself. He is funny, attentive and served us with a smile. Attention to detail and food was presented well as well.
A must go to place for breakfast and brunch. The prices reasonable, nice portions, good quality and nice service. What more could one ask for? A breakfast special before 11 am for $4 bucks? I would line up just about every day.
Bobby's table is great! The food is reasonably prices and the portions are huge. The server was quick to seat us and to serve. Food was out in under 6 mins. My only qualm was with the staff. Just a bit more personable and friendly. Granted, we came in a half hour to close, but we were out of there within 20 mins.
If you enjoy good food, great deserts and warm friendly service in a traditional deli style atmosphere then this is your place. The smoked meat is as good as anywhere - better than Montreal's top smoked meat destinations... trust me I frequented, Ben's, Schwartz's, Dunn's etc. Pricing is reasonable.
Bobby's Table is a community landmark. Amazing atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, I've always had delicious food that's easy on the wallet. I love it! Only problem is it's addictingly good. :D
The Big Appetite. Yes, this is as good as it looks. Eggs, fruit, toast, home fries, bacon, sausage, and ham (which I always replace with smoked meat for no charge) and homemade pancakes with syrup and coffee or tea. You'd better go in hungry!
Breakfast Special: Two eggs any way you like (poached too!), your choice of meat (smoked, sausage, ham, bacon or back bacon) toast (white, brown or white rye) coffee or tea, and you can add beans or home fries for less than a dollar.
Lovely staff, big and yummy portions!. After months of being told that Bobby's is a MUST for people who enjoy non-pretentious atmosphere and generous portions, we finally went... And LOVED it! You can tell the staff know their regulars and are warm and friendly - dans les deux langues - with all newcomers. Very generous breakfast portions, delicious sausages and potatoes. We will most certainly be back! :)
Spoontastic. Fantastic Brunch. When ordering Eggs Benedict, was asked whether the poached eggs should be cooked soft medium or hard! Nice friendly, efficient staff. I went back a couple of days later for a smoked-meat sandwich take out.
Best breakfasts in town. Love the potatoes. Cannot beat the price. Huge portions.
Awesome Breakfast. One of the last great diner breakfasts in town. You can get a good home-cooked breakfast with coffee for under $5. The atmosphere is great, like a family-run small town sort of place. The waitress was very friendly.
Good diner breakfast. Open early (6am on the Friday morning when I ate there). $3.95 breakfast - great price! Parked in the reserved spaces in the lot behind the restaurant (access off of Marier Ave.). We need more breakfast spots like this around town!

Tried Bobby's Table for the first time today. I have been a resident of Vanier my entire life and Vanier has had some pretty good, long-standing restaurants (think Fontenelle, Eddy's, Vanier Grill, Taffy's, Dynasty). This restaurant used to be called Speed-O-Matic and for many many years it was one of my go- to places. At the end it completely changed and everything went down hill. I have been skeptical to try Bobby's because of that. But finally I caved and tried it today because I couldn't get parking down the street at Fontenelle. I was impressed. The atmosphere was exactly as to be expected - very diner like and homey. The service was excellent - friendly and fast. The food was very good. I of course tried the smoked meat and it was awesome. I will definitely be adding Bobby's Table to my list of restaurants that I frequent!
What a Breakfast!. This place has to be....wait for it....wait for it..... the best breakfast in town. First time there this morning and I was floored. The meal, $3.95 (including coffee) was delicious. The place was busy and its easy to see why. Our server was friendly, the meal came quickly and wow! If you are looking for a 5 star ambience this isn't your place. However if you want a good honest restaurant with excellent value, this is your place
Best Reuben in town. We go to Bobby's for breakfast (ask to substitute the toast for toasted rye), for a smoked meat sandwich (as good as you will have in Ottawa), for an incredible Bobby's burger, or for an extraordinary Reuben sandwich.
We keep going back for more of the same, plus the great staff who now greet us warmly at every visit.
Our new favorite breakfast place. Discovered Bobby's Table a few months ago. It's now our new favorite family restaurant for breakfast. Servers are wonderful and experienced. Food is quality (home fries are the best). Bobby makes his own pasta sauces, cookies and jams. A really nice homey atmosphere, filled with regulars. Always enjoy our meal.
I'm a smoke meat fanatic, I'm in my forties now and originally from Montreal my dad took me as a kid to Ben's (now closed) loved it. We then moved to Ottawa and Nate's was a great replacement for my smoke meat place...I was trilled to see a great tradition continue with Bobby, a well cut not too lean or fat tasting and just spiced right smoke meat sandwich. When in Montreal, skip the zoo at Schwartz's....head across the street to The Main or make the trip to Lester's

Justifiably busy. Dropped in after 9am on a Tuesday. Almost full - why? - good full breakfast including coffee for $3.95, clean, with wifi to boot. Folks around here are lucky to have a great little spot. Service courteous, patient and helpful. Look forward to our next trip when I'll be hunting the Monday night smoked meat special. Thanks for the sampler, Bobby.

Just had the best Montreal smoked meat sandwiches in a very long time. Bobby's Table is one of the best little places in Ottawa.
Great break after Christmas Shopping. After Christmas shopping all day on the Dec 23rd, my husband, two sons and I went to Bobby's for the first time. We loved it!! My husband had the king size platter. It was more than he could eat. Our sons (aged 6) each had a milkshake and shared a regular platter. I had a Lou-Lou's club. It was one of the best clubs I've had. The fries were hand cut and cooked to perfection - golden and very crispy.
Great smoked meat. The home made desserts are awesome - try the lemon meringue pie.
Wow. Who'd have thought it could be better than Nate's. Sandwiches are the same but the fries are better. I'm so happy.
Fine dinning, affordable price. Bobby's table is great for breakfast - took my 3 picky kids there a few weeks back and they have all been asking to go back since. That says something considering it is hard to get them to finish their meals sometimes. They all had the French toast. The staff were friendly and prompt with the coffee. My only complaint is that we have to drive across town to get to it. The staff were great!
