This is a great dessert spot! They have a wide selection of baked goods, especially a wide selection of cakes that you can get a slice of. I had a mini cheesecake and I loved the different flavours they had, it was very good and unique!
While I would love to see Mille-Feuille on the menu, I am easy placated by the excellent butter tarts, nanaimo bars, carrot cake, and every variety of cobbler and cheesecake Thyme & Again produces. Special mention is owed to both the vegan cherry brownie (I can't believe it is vegan!) and the overall level of service at both counters. Lunch is always a treat (salads are inventive and entrées varied) and consistently great service (ok and the desserts) are the reason I keep coming back. Thyme & Again has to be one of the most versatile and successful food establishments in Ottawa (it truly defies classification).
Very cute little cafe. Stopped in for a light lunch and had the soup of the day and a coffee. The soup was very good and came with a nice bun. Good coffee, great decor, atmosphere and food. Highly recommend.
Looking forward to gluten-free pizzas, to take home and bake. The old favourites like Margherita or seasonal ones like the Fall Harvest. Yummy!
I have the soup and salad combo, I would definitely get it again :) it's a really cute place, the staff was nice but they didn't seem very inviting. The coffee was pretty good.

Protein Delights! These are incredible and reasonably priced ! Coconut and pineapple, dark chocolate chips, nuts made with agave nectar. I bought half a dozen to take home. The perfect little dessert !!

A warm friendly atmosphere to come for a great lunch, cappuccino & dessert or a great meal! There catering is second to none !! We used them and there room upstairs, for a reception following my mom's funeral. Everything was perfect. Our guests were most impressed. The food was exceptional.

A great neighbourhood shop. Service has always been quick and friendly whether I'm grabbing coffee and lunch or take away and treats! Love the bustle and have always been able to get a table. We get take home meals often - easy, tasty and don't disappoint.
Cutest little place. Thyme & Again is my favourite place to take a quiet lunch, grab a great handmade sandwich with the best coleslaw I've ever eaten and a crunchy dill pickle. Their soups are to die for and service is quick and sweet. The atmosphere is great, although on the main level and patio, there is limited seating. If you go up the back stairs, there's a lot more room/chairs/tables to house more people, although the light and airy feeling on the main floor is a lot more attractive. There's decorations and knick-knacks for sale and I often find cute little things to buy for friends and family there. Overall, it's a great place to go for a coffee, a snack or a meal. It's suitable for children, working or just meeting up with friends for a great meal.
Soooo good! The Lemon shortbread is fabulous. My daughter gave me a gift basket full of Thyme & Again goodies. The lemon shortbread butterfly cookies are a melt-in-your mouth lemony treat. Soo good! I can't wait to try more things from this store! :)

Fabulous, except..... My daughter and I have been patrons of Thyme & Again for many years. They catered my sister's wedding. We routinely order their cakes for celebrations. And we've tried so many items on the menu that I really feel I can give a thorough, experienced review of this establishment.
So here's the dirt: I love this place ... except for the hot entrees.
I love their soup. Sometimes it can be a little bit salty, but mostly it's delicious. If you ask, they will give you a small shot to taste before you place your order and my daughter and I have taken advantage of this offer in order to ensure we choose the right soup. The sandwiches are also wonderful and my favourite is the Smoked Salmon (lots of smoked salmon, red onions and sprouts on a chewy, fresh bun!). Their tuna and apple sandwich is also delicious. And their salads are lovely as well.
So if you're looking for a meal, stick with the soup/sandwich or a salad and you won't be disappointed. It's marvelous. And inexpensive.
They have hot entrees that sound like they are going to be delicious and yet every single time, have disappointed us. Don't fool yourself by thinking these meals are going to be prepared hot for you: they are pre-made and then microwaved. As such, meals are always in varying degrees of lukewarm and cold. My daughter once ordered lambchops that were SO rare, they were bloody and she couldn't even bite through them. We've learned to stay away from these expensive items on the menu.
But we routinely go back not only for soup/sandwiches, but for the desserts. Oh my. The desserts are out of this world fabulous!!! My daughter always insists we bring home the vegan cherry brownies (we're not vegan but we also don't discriminate and these are the superb!) My favourite cake is the Poppyseed Grand Marnier cake which, sadly, is no longer available by the slice (but you can take home an entire cake). I also love the Lemon Thyme cake. Honestly, if you stop by, you need to try one of their desserts. Don't be disciplined. Don't be good. Just do it.
The atmosphere of this shop is so lovely, I often bring my friends for some coffee and a dessert. I love the brick, the fresh green paint and the old wood floors. It looks like a small shop, but if you go upstairs, there is a large room with more seating. But it's so much more fun to sit in the front windows, partake in a delicious piece of cheesecake and watch the people stroll by. There's nothing more pleasurable than one of their café au lait or warm apple ciders on a cold day.
They also have package food to take home. We love to bring home pate (they make it) and their tortiere and chicken pot pie is also good. My daughter loves to buy a bag of their spicy pecans.
I highly recommend this place (if you stay away from the hot entrees).
Good for quick bite or dessert take out. Went here for lunch a few days ago with my mother. It was fairly busy but they got through people quickly so there wasn't much wait. Some of the employees were quite friendly while others seemed distant due to the volume of customers.
I loved the house pasta salad. Good old pasta in olive oil and crisp veggies. I didn't like the red pepper soup nearly as much. My soup was a little hot for me in terms of spice (too much pepper maybe). My mother on the other hand thought that it needed a little salt. It wasn't bad but I think they accidentally gave me a large instead of medium because it was so huge I barely got through half of it.
I also got a piece of their dark chocolate raspberry tart. It was more expensive then you'd expect but they give you a pretty big portion so it balances out. It was well worth it too because it was delicious. ll likely grab another tart or other delicacy.
Very Good. Thyme & Again is an excellent spot for a sandwich, coffee, and good conversation. All of the sanwicches i've had have been delicious and the deserts...what can I say...Sooo good. Would definitely recommend.
So cute!. Delicious food. The pickles and the coffee are fantastic. Sara is the friendliest food server EVER! The atmosphere of this place is very welcoming. A definite weekend favourite.
Great Cakes. We've had a few different cakes from Thyme & Again for parties and they have been a real hit! All of the cakes we have ordered from here has been delicious and very pretty looking. I'll definitely be buying more cakes from Thyme & Again.
Fantastic egg salad sandwich - especially on the potato dill bread. The desserts are totally YUM, although they could be a bit more generous with the lemon in their lemon square.
Good Stuff to Go. I picked up a sandwich and a fruit salad for dinner yesterday for about $12. It was more expensive than heading to other fast-food options in the neighbourhood but well worth it. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection at 6:30pm and the prompt service.

A decent place for a simple lunch. But when it comes to catering large events (such as my wedding) these guys get 5 stars. Delicious food, impeccable service, miraculous delivery of perfectly cooked food to over 100 guests (including gelato that they managed to serve in tact despite 32c heat). Highly recommend.

We had them cater our small wedding this weekend. The food was delicious and packaged with care. I really appreciated their attention to dietary allergies. For example, one of our guests is allergic to gluten and not only did they include GF crackers in the cheese platter but they also separated the cheese from the crackers to insure there wasn’t any contamination. The portions were generous and everyone enjoyed the food. Rose was very responsive and was able to answer all of my questions promptly. Would highly recommend for your next event!
One of my favourite neighbourhood coffee shops! Love their coffees, baked goods, and seasonal homeware and gifts. Definitely worth a visit! Hopefully the upstairs section can be open again soon - a lovely place to enjoy a latte and relax.
Got catering for an event. Communication was excellent. The food quality was fantastic. In retrospect, should have ordered more. The finger foods were absolutely delicious but they're very very tiny. Really great quality though and reasonably priced.
Super cute, stopped in to check it out on my way to the theater so I didn't buy anything but I'll definitely go back and grab something. Everything looked and smelled delicious 💕
Thyme & Again has been around forever and that's a good thing. Amazingly good quality of food and consistently good and friendly service. Very few business can keep such high quality year after year. Great place for sandwiches, salads, delicious pastries and of course coffee and tea. They also have a take out section where they have frozen pies and meals to go. Highly recommended.
I've been to Thyme & Again for a couple of years for their desserts, scones and other takeaway meals. The food quality is great and prices are reasonable. The seasonal merchandise is pretty great as well.
