Wonderful place when you're craving kebabs. Had the Lebnah as an appetizer and was delightfully surprised how delicious it was. Then ordered the Chicken/Beff kebab combo. It was awesome! The baba ganouj and humus was so tasty. Add to all this the very friendly owner/server along with the quaint and charming decor, and you have a great night out
This is the best falafel I have ever had. The restaurant is beautiful, although it is quite small so larger groups may find it a bit snug. The owner is absolutely delightful and gave me some of the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. Wait time can be a bit slow (as it was only the owner working the floor during my visit) but he did a fanatic job and wants to speak with all his customers to make sure they have a good meal from start to end. I'll defiantly be back here and will highly recommend it.
Great food, european ambiance. If you are expecting North American - type service, where there is a formula to get you in, feed you and get you out in 45 min - 1 hour, then this is not the place for you. If, however, you enjoy a more European style of dining, where you are not constantly pestered by your server (how's your meal? can I get you more wine?) mid-bite or mid-conversation, then this is the place for you. The chef/server/owner/artist is a charming man who sometimes hauls in friends off the street to give him a hand. So adjust your expectations and you'll be in for a treat! The food is excellent and they will cater to vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.
Have had the lamb kafta and the mesa platter many times. Never disappointed.
Great service, and great prices. Jerichos is one of my favourite restaurants in the city. Raouf the server is literally the best waiter I have ever had. He is kind, he never forgets a face or an order, and is devoted to your dining pleasure. The chicken wrap is one of my favourite meals in the city. The interior is beautiful, the waiter hangs his art all over the walls. The food is very well priced, and its a great place to hang out and have drinks and dinner for an evening.
A Real Glebe Gem. This is a mixed art gallery and restaurant for the walls are all covered with very interesting acrylic paintings done by the owner..
However I go there for the great food. The lamb kafta is a real treat and exceptional value for $12. All the food is made inhouse from the Hummus to the Baklava. I have returned many times now because it is the best value restaurant in the Glebe.
I notice that many of the customers seem to be repeat customers since many of them greet the owner, Raouf by name.
Fantastic!. This restaurant in the heart of the glebe is truly a gem! The service is wonderful and genuine and the food is delicious. You really do appreciate how much pride the owners have in their establishment, which I was told, has been at this location for over 20 years!
The Kafta platter was out of this world - beautifully spiced meat accompanied by a crisp green salad, home-made hummus and soft pitas.
When we were there the place was packed full of happy, hungry people - but the service remained attentive and courteous. The owner greeted many people by name - a testament to why this gem has been around for as long as it has been.
Great Place -- delightful food. Although the name is a bit of a misnomer -- more an Israeli-Palestinian joint-venture, which is itself a miracle! Enjoy!
Best tabouleh outside the middle east. Great ambience and service.
Should add 'gluten free friendly' to this. Owner is very knowledgeable about gluten and what is/is not acceptable. A pleasure to eat there.
I can't get over how gorgeous the interior is wow! The food was also exceptional! Best hummus I've ever had and serving sizes left me satisfied but not stuffed. Prices are also reasonable and our waiter was very sweet.
This is a beautiful restaurant with a warm and friendly owner.
The food is…passable, but the beautiful ambiance is the main draw. Everything in the restaurant was designed or painted by the owner, and it really is quite beautiful - from the menus to the ceilings!
The pricing is a little on the expensive side.
Go a little early to really enjoy the ambiance.

I absolutely adore Middle-Eastern cuisine, ever since going to there for the first time to Jordan a few years ago, so I'm always looking for new spots in Ottawa to enjoy!

I've always walked by this restaurant whenever I go to the Glebe area, and have always been curious. So when a colleague (thank you Janine!) recently recommended Jericho to me, so I went with a friend and we tried these dishes:

House Specials: #2 Lamb Kafta, which is ground lamb mixed with onion, parsley and spices. This was my favourite out of the two house specials. The lamb was SO tender, and really flavourful, given the unique blend of spices. I would absolutely recommend this as a must-order! Thank you Janine for recommending this.

House Specials: #5 House Combo, which has homus, kebby, grape leaves, salad and fatayer. Kebby is cracked wheat stuffed with beef, onions, pine nuts and spices. Fatayer is spinach pies. This dish was a good way to try a bit of everything. If you're someone who enjoys variety, this is a good choice! I especially enjoyed the kebby, as the mix of spices used in the beef was different from those in the lamb kafta!

The other house specials (there are 5) are: Grilled spicy chicken breast, Shish kebab, and a Chicken Wrap.

I recommend dining in the restaurant, as it is beautifully decorated and spacious. The owner came by and told us that he created all of the art on the walls! The owner was super friendly and really helpful with regards to helping us decide on what to order.

Next time, I want to try their Falafel, as well as their Kabab Combination (chicken/beef)!

Wow! This isn’t your average dining experience. Jericho is so beautiful on the inside, it felt like we were transported into the Middle East as soon as we stepped in the doors! The art on the walls, tables, ceiling, doors…all of it…was created by the owner himself. It has beautiful lighting and great music as well. It was such a wonderful sensory experience!
The owner was so warm and helpful and truly went above and beyond to make this a great experience for us. The service was perfect, the food was perfect. An absolute must for anyone looking for a hidden gem!!
Just an amazing place! Terrific food, attentive owner who is also the artist for all the paintings and decor. It was not busy at all which is sort of a shame because this is the type of unique restaurant that should be turning away patrons!!!
Lovely little restaurant, beautifully decorated. The food was delicious, generously portioned, and very reasonably priced. The proprietor was super friendly and made great menu suggestions for us. We will definitely eat here again. Highly recommended!
Excellent flavorful food and good service. Server was not as attentive as expected but friendly nonetheless. I would return to try some other dishes.
