Wow wow and wow. Just exactly what a neighbourhood 'restaurant' should be. Great friendly service, awesome food, presentation...everything. we had three of their sandwiches....smoked beef was perfect! Friend shrimp was amazing! Ham and cheese was ok but nothing special. Will be back and will be bringing friends. Already been raving about it to whoever will listen.

We tried this restaurant tonight and we're amazed. Food was out of this world. Do yourself a favour and try these guys for dinner. You won't be disappointed. We had a bison tartar, pan fried foie gras as appetizers followed by lamb loin with veggies and duck with patates dauphinoise as mains. Everything was lights out. Bravo!

I'm stuffed. It's rare that a sandwich can do that to me. The porchetta was amazing and the bread bun was like soft cloud flavour delivery vehicle. Great value

Unreal meat + cheese + beer, great lunch and dinner. This place is a dark horse. Go!

Full of flavour and at a very decent price point. Divert from Wellington West onto Armstrong and stop in here. The in-house iced tea is also fab!

In this town full of demanding vegan-yogi-pacifist-green-worldsaviour-feminist-love-the-animals-gluten-free ladies, MeatPress is an oasis where you can indulge yourself into the simple hedonistic pleasure of being an omnivore. (Yes, sinful but absolutely delicious).

One of the best things Ottawa has going. I've yet to be disappointed with something from here.

My Surf and Turf sandwich was so good, I'm still thinking about it hours later! And that mushroom soup was amazing. My friend and I are already planning to bring more of our gang over there soon!

Tried Smoked Duck sandwich and Cubano bowl. Nice smoky flavour for sure. Sandwich has a rustic in-house bread, not overly sauced for beautiful meaty taste. Bowl has Brussels sprout, coleslaw and potato. Veggies are nicely roasted too. Everything is just right.

The smoked brisket sandwich is absolutely spectacular. The brisket is tender, smokey, and has a slight savoury bitterness from the bark. Pickles are perfect to balance out the fattiness of the meat. The bun itself was a bit greasy with butter but it gave it a decadent feel. Staff is friendly as always.

Hey - we are all in this together! While I am working from home, I’m also trying to find a way to support local restaurants. Luckily for me, Meat Press is a short walk from home and it is so worth the visit. If there is an upside to all this, its the ability to grab a local brew to go! The chicken sandwich was done perfectly - crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. I also enjoyed the simplicity of it all. I ordered a side of fries and they were a well paired item. Shoestring fries are wonderful.

Meat Press is an amazing lunchtime place ... great food with fresh ingredients and a relaxed atmosphere! While we only got there once, friends at its amazing every time! We ordered shared the Cubano - layers of ham and cheese on an a fresh sourdough bun! Enough to share! Loved this place!!

Forget current COVID conditions and go safely get yourself one of the BEST sandwiches around. Here’s why: homemade sourdough buns which are required to hold all the ingredients they pack into the sandwiches!!! My spouse and I shared the Philly steak & smoked Duck sandwiches and they left us speechless due to their homemade smoky goodness and OMG the sides!!! We shared the Brussels sprout+Kale side and the Potatoes/smoked meat/cheese side and our mouthes were in heaven! We drove 1h45m to visit this place and it was WORTH it and we’ll come back!!! Long live Meatpress and Etienne’s team, great bunch of people!!!

Stopped by meat press for lunch. Takeout and dine-in available with seating for about 20. You order your food before finding a table. Choice of sandwich or bowl, we ordered bowls. Which are deconstructed sandwiches without the bread. Delicious, fresh and all locally sourced. Would definitely come back. Service was also good.

This is a great gem in Westboro: a meat lovers paradise. The meat is locally sourced and fresh. The menu consists of meat sandwiches ( duck, pork, beef, chicken) and/or bowls filled with meat. The small restaurant is licensed and staff quick and friendly. Be prepared for lineups st lunchtime. The place has a funky vibe and a selected poor bohemian decor.

I’ve discovered this place recently and it makes me happy. Why? The food is delicious and all made in-house. First time around, I had the Jefferson, a melt-in-mouth sandwich of deep fried pork jowl, brisket burnt ends and sausage all smothered in barbecue sauce. Second visit (two days later) I had Grandma’s Pork with boudin. Delicious morsels of richly flavoured and light textured boudin with succulent pork stew on a bed of charred Brussels sprouts and golden roasted potatoes. I added a smoked meat poutine too which had thin crispy fries and cheese that stretch when you pull away from the plate. But that smoked meat! I think of this place every week during lunch, I like it that much.
