Hey Zomato users!
Positive: Great location, good ambience, fantastic service.Known for it's Peri-peri chicken.
Negative: Sometimes, the chicken is overcooked and is hard as a rock! That's a pity.
Recommended : ONLY peri-peri chicken. Fantastic taste and flavour.
Overall: A good meal!
My Credibility: I have eaten food from a wide spectrum ranging from Michelin starred restaurants to street food eateries.
Cheers guys!
Awesome place to grab a somewhat healthy lunch!
Overall:
The location is super convenient as I work downtown. At first the ordering process is different get seated, order and pay at the front and wait at your table. I come to appreciate it as you don't have to wait for the bills to arrive.
Value:
It can be fairly pricey for lunch, as the portions aren't too big. For a decent sized lunch I usually get a double leg, a side, and a drink. The drinks are unlimited refills with their self serve multi-favor coke machine!
Service:
The service is excellent! the people are really nice and service is pretty spot on. The manager there is really nice as well. They helped organizing and catering a work event.
Food:
The food is really good! although my Portuguese friends don't believe it is authentic at all, I think it tastes great. The chicken is never dry, and the fries are amazing. I just wish portions are a bit bigger.
I really love the portuguese egg tarts they are so good. Oh and for sangria lovers they have it on tap lol.
Checked out this location as it just recently opened. Been to all locations in Ottawa and usually go to the one in Nepean. Here is the review for this location
Layout:
Located right in downtown on a busy street. Minimal seating(had to wait a few for a seat as it was busy). Does have a patio. Modern decor, all utensils and sauces located on one end of the restaurant. There are 3 washroom which were modertly clean.
Staff: Nice & Attentive
Food;
Sandwich with Fries: the buns was exceptionally hard which was still fine. I opened my sandwich and there was 1 small tomato and lots of lettuce, the chicken was also smaller portion. They also charge $1 for mayo (spicy mayo) as they don't have the regular. I had to spread that onto my bun with lots of sauce to get it down as it was hard to bite through the bun (and since the chicken and tomato was small, all I ate for a few bites was just bun with lettuce). Kind of dissapointed as I really like Nandos.
I got my fries and they werent even full to the top of the bowl. I thought maybe that how it is untill my 2 friends got theirs and there was a mountain of fries. Lack of consistency may be over looked but not when it occurs on the same table.
Half Chicken: it was dry and lacked flavor even thought I got lemon and herb and Nandos does flavor well.
Sliders: Tasty
This location does not have the tamer sauce nor does it have the peri drizzle ( they charge 1.25$ for it) on the shelf.
Overall, kind if dissapointed. I was thrilled to try this location but I'll stick to the Nepean one. The portions were just too small for my liking.
That was fun. I'm new to the concept of this somewhat self-serve eatery.
The food was great (I had the chicken with two sides). Although the chicken was really, really good; the garlic smashed potatoes were fantastic.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Overall a great and quick meal.
We had ordered the share platter with piri piri vegetables and Salad. I didnt like the portion sizes we got. I felt we got cheated in a way. I thought the vegetables portion was half of them only onions. It was way too much for it to be 6.50 for a side of veggies. No offense. Onions at inexpensive to the other veggies. I thought the chicken was great, crispy and sauces choices were good. I am unsure if I would go back. I would have order fries or something eelse
Excellent chicken experience for the price, affordable meals for the whole family 👪 easily accessible location with under ground parking across the street expensive though if you aren't walking. Very clean and modern with a futuristic drinks fountain the kids had alot of fun making choices with. Cool lighting with a good drinks choice. Clean and tidy bathroom.
Well, who doesn't know Nando's with their famous recipe and sauces. The service is great, the employees are very friendly and attentive and definitely the food is very tasty and been served within 15 minutes. My only down star is for the restaurant itself and decorations. The place obviously needs some maintenance as it looks a bit outdated. But our overall experience was great and definitely we're coming back.
The food was in a generous portion. The taste was amazing for both half chicken and grilled chicken and halloumi salad!
The inside sitting area was smelling like fried oil☹️
I am writing this review on a holiday, so I am not sure if always the waiting time for cashier and food is this much or it is just on holidays.
I forgot how much I genuinely like Nando's. Their chicken is moist and flavourful (possibly brined?) and cooked to order over a delicious grill. You get amazing char and flavour for a decently reasonable price.
My honest opinion though is skip the sides. They're almost not worth it and just focus on the chicken itself. Garlic potatoes were disgusting, Caesar salad was a joke, the fried were delicious but it's just seasoning salt so of course it's good and the brussel sprouts had great potential but were served soft and had a little too much bitterness.
Overall 4/5. Service was okay. Once we get back to dine in I think things will improve. The fragmented order and pay before you are served is a bit odd. We got our drinks after the food had already arrived, and had to ask for our apps after our mains had already come out.
The chicken is good an tasty, however I found their sauces way too salty, plus the service wasn’t great. The waiters never brought us anything, we had to grab anything ourselves and they never checked on us to see if we needed water or cutlery etc.
