When this location first opened I didn't like it but recently went in and I have to say it might even be better than the downtown location.
The layout of this place is designed that if there is a long line up, you might have to stand outside the door (or between the two doors). There is a random fountain(which didn't have water) which in my opinion should be removed and replaced with more seating.
The Food is the similar is all shawarma palace's location but this location had something different.
Prices have increased so prepare to pay around $15-16 per plate which can easily be shared amongst 2 people.
the staff was efficient, but during busier times, they do tend to slightly mess up the order.
Best Shawarma ever. Had vegetarian one and can't wait to go again for the chicken Shawarma. Yummy food and friendly staff. Must go place for food lovers.
I like this place. Really tasty meat, sauce and potatoes. Their salad is a little disappointing. For the cost, I shouldn't be getting iceberg lettuce and cabbage in a fattoush salad. The dressing was good though. And I find that the service is not friendly when it comes to the guys that prepare the food and very friendly when it comes to the ladies at the cash. And this is not a one off, it's every time. But the food is good enough to ignore the sullenness.
Best shawarma place in Ottawa. I've been to several shawarma spots all over town and none can compare to this place! Service is very friendly, they give generous portions. Their food is always fresh and tasty, can never get sick of it!
Good Food. Not so friendly staff. It could have been a much pleasant dining experience if the service was as good as the food.
I checked out this place since it was next door to the motel I was staying at, and came back a second time because the food was tasty and cheap. I tried both the chicken shawarma and beef shawarma platters, and the falafels. The portion sizes are HUGE and can easily feed 2 people. They give you a bit of all the food groups on 1 platter which includes: a variety of pickled vegetables, salad, the shawarma with some kind of sauce (tahini?), brown or white rice, garlic roast potatoes with a tzatziki like sauce, and pita bread with hummus. The food is fresh, quick, and the staff are friendly (one gentleman even gave me extra potatoes). My only negative comment is that the falafels were a little on the salty side, but I would definitely come back again when I visit this city.
Best Chicken shawarma I have ever had period. The servings are huge. 2 people can easily share a platter and both be full. Everyone my mother is in town she begs me to take her there.
Amazing service, that was quick and the people were so nice. Portion size was amazing for the cost. One of the best chicken Shawarmas I have had.
I'm glad there's consistency in taste between the locations. Had their beef shawarma sandwich and was very pleased with it. Meat had great flavour, was juicy, and had a bit of tang in it. I think next time I'd ask for less hummus inside and ask for their spicy garlic sauce.
Shawarma Palace. I love their chicken shawarma, garlic sauce and potatoes - consistently good with pleasant service. My only negative comment is the state of their washroom - around sink and toilet bowl have never been cleaned. I believe a place that serves food should have an immaculate washroom.
Mixed Chicken and Beef Plate, Enough For Two People to Devour. Always awesome

The Best. I would say all 3 Shawarma Palaces are the best in Ottawa but the Carling location is the funnest and the best in town. Hassan the dancing shawarma slicer is always smiling and the staff are all fantastically pleasant. If I had to drive past 10 other Arabic places I would. SP Carling is #1
Best Shawarma. This restaurant always provides fresh and delicious food in generous portions, in addition to friendly and quick service. The best in Ottawa.
Great Shawarma. 2nd best I've had in Ottawa in Ottawa next to Les Grillades. Excellent service huge portions and huge flavour. The only suggestion is if you are getting the plate, don't get the rice as it's usually very dry, although what's important is the chicken and garlic sauce which are both done immaculately. Love it!
Hands down - best. I've tried a lot of shawarma...and imo this is the best in ottawa. big portions, great taste, friendly service. I must say though, the one downtown is my preference out of the three locations.
I've honestly never enjoyed shawarma until I ate some from here.
Amazing smell. My boyfriend and I walked past here one day and had to try it. The smell from outside was wonderful and made us both hungry. We shared a platter that had chicken, beef, two kinds of rice and various sauces/vegetables. It was delicious!
The place was packed and it took a little while to get our food (about 10-15 minutes), but it really wasn't that long and the food was hot and tasty. One of the tastier shawarma places in the West End.
This is the best Shawarma place in Ottawa! I always get the vegetarian plate - it's huge, so be prepared to share with someone or get it to go and save the left overs for lunch. Also the only thing I suggest to watch for since its happened to me a couple times is to ask if you want something, otherwise it might not make it on the plate (ie tabbouleh, garlic sauce, dolmathes).
Best shawarma in Ottawa. I love this place. It's clean, you get tons of delicious food for your money. Most staff are friendly.
Great food. This place is amazing. The food is delicious, the people are very friendly and the place is clean and organized. They use fresh ingredients and you can tell they really try hard to make the customer happy.
Can't say enough good things. This place is the best I've had, excellent food, huge portions and super fast and friendly service...can't beat it!
Always super nice people working there terrific food and lots of it. But especially impressed by the friendly staff.
Huge portions. Very tasty but can't finish.
Very Good. First of all they have real plates and knives and forks, the only shawarma place where I've seen that.Big portions! I don't know how someone could eat it all. I was very hungry when I went and couldn't come close to eating it .The sandwich was nicely heated and the potatoes and garlic sauce were delicous. It might be the best I've ever had!
Simply the best in that area! The staff is so friendly! Food is always great!
Half and Half Sandwiches. The potatoes at this location are the best in Ottawa. Chicken has been fatty in the recent months which has made our group shift to another establishment. Overall, it is a great spot with generous portions.
Delicious, but they dont have fattoush!. To my surprise, they dont serve fattoush! Appart from this however, it is truly the BEST SHAWARMA outside of the middle east!! Chicken and garlic especially...all ingredients are fresh and lebanese authentic. HIGHLY RECOMENDED
Garlic not the same! :(. I absolutely love the place, BUT garlic tastes like mayo. The downtown location is absolutely flawless. I'm a frequent customer and sometimes I make myself travel downtown just for that. I wish Carling location would improve on that.
P.S. I know several people who agreed with me.
Best shawarma in the city. I live in the east end and will travel to this location specifically for the shawarma.
Awesome!. I have been a HUGE fan of Shawarma Palace on Rideau Street for years and was happy to find out that the Carling location is owned by the same family (no other place compares to it!).
The shawarmas are really good. The potatoes, the garlic sauce and the rice are great. The portions (i.e. chicken shawarma plate) are really big!
THE BEST SHAWARMA IN OTTAWA. This place is great!! The garlic sauce is delicious, the chicken is moist and tasty, the fries are great, and it's a reasonable price (Please don't take this as incentive to raise the prices!). I like that there is a large shawarma option here, which the one downtown lacks. It's cleaner than the one on Rideau, shorter wait times, and friendlier staff. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that the Rideau location charges a bit more...but maybe that's changed.
I miss a few of the staff members, though. They used to keep us entertained and make us laugh in line (sometimes the lineup is long, but the wait is never really too bad).
If you're going to eat there, bring gum to cure the garlic breath! I love bringing skeptical friends here and seeing the shock on their faces when they taste it and realize what all the fuss was about. YUM!!!!
