We enjoyed an amazing meal again at Cyranos on their lovely patio yesterday evening. It is one of our favourite restaurants in Ottawa. The staff are so welcoming and we are never disappointed. The house wine is delicious not to mention their beet salad and 'in house made" pasta. My husband has Celiac Disease and the chef always has great gluten free selections including the Cauliflower crust pizza. It's so yummy you won't believe it's gluten free! Keep up the amazing service you offer. And a big shout to your fine waitresses!

Really? I haven't reviewed this place yet.. Jesus what's wrong with me lol This place is honestly incredible, my top 10 favorite spot in all of Ottawa, highly recommended, everything is home made and with an open kitchen you can banter with the chefs as they prep your food, very clean and beautifully decorated spot, trust me.. you need to try this for any occasion. Reservation ahead though, they are busy. 10/10

It was my first time coming here and never again. I went with my family and was the first to arrive. Waitress served me water then seemed to disappear. She came back 15 min later to ask if I wanted a drink which I felt she could have asked when she poured the water. Once we ordered our food it took an hour and a half for it to arrive, I have never waited that long anywhere else. Waitress said the kitchen was short staffed but somehow other tables that came after us got their food sooner. Not sure but there seemed to be some kind of discrimination taking place. The waitress rarely checked in and I had to walk over to the bar to ask what was taking so long and get an apology. From other reviews made months ago seems like other guests have had a similar experience. You would think they would have hired more kitchen staff by now to solve the issue. Food came and some plates had huge servings while others were tiny but all similar pricing which is not fair. I left still hungry and frustrated from waiting so long just to have a tiny portion of bland unseasoned food and a huge bill. Don’t waste your time!

Last time we were here was to get takeout during a Covid lockdown, so it was great to have a sit down eat-in meal. Food quality exceeded our expectations! Looking forward to a return visit to try other items from the menu, being mindful of leaving room for dessert.

Excellent hidden gem in Bell's Corners! The mussels and handmade spaghetti with clams were exceptional. Great little patio and wonderful service from Lisa. Will be coming back.

Nice place and good food. The layout, the furniture and the decor are a bit old and outdated. It's probably time to do some renovation!. The service is nice, very friendly staff. Food: tasty complimentary freshly baked bread. Good portion size. We tried different dishes and desserts: the main course food and the desserts tasted average. Yet, I would give it another try and update this review accordingly.

Very impressed. This is a great dining experience in a seemingly unexpected area. This simple strip mall restaurant is gorgeous on the inside with a rear open kitchen and a side bar. The food was beautiful. Decent sized portions. Very fresh pasta made in house. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The open kitchen was efficient and quiet. Service was lovely.

Excellent meal. Every bite was delicious. I'm pretty sure it's the best caesar salad I've had and the creme brulee was definitely the best.

Beautiful ambiance. . Food was good.. Nice presentation of the Feta salad. Beet salad very nice. .Wow portions are generous at Cyrano's. Veal gorgonzola lovely and my beau enjoyed his veal marsala. The only thing I could complain about. Why do so many restaurants cook their vegetables so Al dente? Definitely would go back.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Cyranos this evening. My husband had Thyme Marinated Lamb Chops. He said it was excellent. I had Veal Scaloppini Marsala. It was delicious. We will definitely be back.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Cyranos but I went with my wife and mother-in-law. Excellent food, friendly service and good value for money. I’ll be back soon.

This was our first time to this restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the service was excellent. I had the calamari to start and it was delicious and tender. I had the penne with spicy Calabrese sausage as a main. The pasta is delicious and cooked perfectly al dente. The sausage however was kind of dry sort of overcooked. For desert I had the baklava. The whip cream was not sweetened and the baklava was way too sweet. My wife had creme brule for desert and it was extremely burnt. If I were to go back I would not order anything other than the pasta.

Went for lunch with a some workmates for lunch. The general impression of the interior and bread was really good. The feelings about the food was pretty mixed.

I got the spinach linguine with chicken and artichokes; unfortunately the strong spinach flavour of the pasta completely overpowered the food and obliterated the remaining ingredients. Regular pasta (or perhaps sun-dried tomato flavoured) probably would have been better.

Love the fettuccine with prosciutto and mushrooms in a Parmesan cream sauce. Excellent restaurant and staff is very good. I go often. Expect about $14-$20 for lunch. I often eat half and bring the rest for a later lunch, portions are quite good. I especially like their special; salmon with ginger and almond slices on salad.

Does Cyranos have new owners and/or chef? We've been going there for ages and although the prices were always a bit high, we were always satisfied with the food (service was sometimes bad). Went with my wife and step-mother the other day and something has changed. What struck me first was that the vegetables were actually cool - like they'd been left sitting while the main dish was cooking. The ginger/almond salmon was small and missing the ginger flavour. In my experience, the best restaurants always have well prepared, not overcooked, vegetables that are still hot from cooking. If the vegetables are not top notch, the rest of the food usually is not either. My wife found her spaghetti bolognese ordinary and my step-mother could not finish her veal scaloppine. Definitely not worth the money ($107 all-in for 3 - 3 glasses of wine but no dessert, no appetizer). I hope it was just a bad day all around - this used to be our goto restaurant to take out of town visitors or to celebrate an event.

My fiancé and I enjoyed our dinner at Cyranos last night. The restaurant was busy and the kitchen was hopping. The service was great, thank you Megan, and the food was great. We started with the appetizer special, mussels in a tomato curry that was lights out! Lots to share for two with fresh, hot buns to soak up that spicy good sauce. I followed that up with my favourite dish, prosciutto mushroom linguine and my fiancé enjoyed the antipasto for two...for one, as her main. Overall great date night, service at our pace..no rushing even though we were the last seating.

Disappointed. We go there often. This last Saturday night we had terrible steaks. The service is always good, and though it is expensive, we thought the food was good as well . not so. We were very disappointed.

Very Pleasant Dining Experience. We had a very enjoyable evening at Cyrano's. The food was well prepared and the staff was professional and pleasant. Will definitely go again.

Our favourite restaurant. We have lived in Bells Corners for nearly 20 years and we are so lucky to have such a charming community surrounded by lovely greenbelt and several excellent restaurants as well. But my favourite is Cyranos. They serve the kind of food that makes you feel good afterwards, not like you ate something that you might have been better off without. We have never been disappointed. It's just too bad that I can't enjoy their excellent dinner rolls anymore since I follow a gluten free diet now. It's so hard to watch my dinner companions polish them off!

This past summer, fall and Christmas season I have eaten out at several well reputed restaurants in Little Italy, the market, the Glebe and downtown and have found the food was rather mediocre. The prices are getting rather high at Cyranos for us sadly, but no higher than other restaurants of the same calibre. Except when I left those other restaurants that are supposed to be of the same calibre (those mentioned above), I felt like - "I paid that much money for that??!!" At Cyranos, I think - "That was expensive, but oh it was soooo good!" Their creme caramel is the best I've ever had. Can't wait until the next time...

So happy...... We have been going to Cyranos for years. Food and service is always great but we are very happy to see that Selo and Megan are both back in the restaurant on a full time basis. It is just so nice to have meals made to order. We have allergies and sensitivities, and Cyranos can always accommodate - a lot more than many restaurants in the area.

Lunch regular. My 2 lunchtime favorites are linguini with prosciutto and mushrooms in parmesan cream sauce, and salad with the salmon encrusted with ginger and almonds. yum. been going for years and never disappointed.

Such a good experience. It's such a nice place on the inside, with a warm atmosphere. I love how you can see the kitchen, it all feels very homey and you're glad your money is going to this place. I ordered the chicken parm and it was delicious. Got bread while we waited. Paid 21 dollars for a HUGE portion. Left with the restaurant with lunch and dinner for the next day. You have to go here.

Good!. Nice ambience and great service !

Good food, good atmosphere. Had a wonderful dinner with friends, everyone enjoyed their pasta and I had stuffed chicken. The rolls were lovely and dessert was very nice.
The service was very slow and the waitress seemed to be been drinking and al and all it is pleasant

Repeat Customer. Cyranos is one of my favourite restaurants! I have been patronising this eatery since it opened. My favourite dish is Chicken Marsala. The marsala gravy is unusually sweet but it works and is quite addictive.

B.

Great Pasta. Myself and my husabnds have been to this restaurant a few times and we have never been disappointed. This time I ordered the Linguini with pruschutto and mushrooms and it was really good.

Not good. Poor service, terrible pasta. Don't waste your time

Middle of the Road. I can't say that I liked this place, and I can't say that I didn't like it. There were both good and bad points. The service was horrendous; the calamari, home-made bread and pasta were delicious, but the sauces and other parts of the dishes - as well as the presentation - were pretty middle of the road, and weren't really anything special. The meal would have been reasonably priced if it cost us $60-70, but the $100 is cost us was a bit much for the overall experience.

One of the best restaurants in Ottawa. My boss toke me to this place 11 years ago. Since then, I started entertaining many of my clients there for the fine food, great service and business friendly atmosphere. The menu is great with wide selection and reasonable prices.
Many of my clients go back later on with their friends, families and customers.
From time to time, depending on how busy the place gets, a reasonable delay is expected. In my opinion, it's the tradeoff for freshness. After all, this is not a fast food restaurant.
This is a true family business, where the owner is the chef. His brothers' work there, his wife serves there. They care about the place and they treat it as their own, because it is.
And did I mention that the entire staff is awesome. Give it a try, you'll love it...

Super slow service this weekend. I was there quite a few times before, never had any problems. This time our diner took almost 2.5 hours without deserts or coffee. We were too tired to enjoy the finally received food, even though it tested all right. The waitress knew about the problems at the kitchen, but pretended nothing was happening, and this was quite frustrating. We'd really prefer them to let us know upfront about the expected delay or any other problems concerning us.

Worst night ever and on V-day at that. Took my wife there for Valentine's Day ($50 Table d'hôte each) everything started off well, the salad was nice wine was promptly brought to the table, then it took 70 minutes for out meals to arrive

1. The steak was requested to be med/well, it was med/rare

2. The mushrooms on the steak were cold and the frozen/canned kind.

3. Roasted potatoes were not even roasted, seemed like they were cut in half and nuked and placed on the plate

4. My meal was the sautéed butter seafood dish, minus the butter or flavor it was as if they had all been boiled in nothing but hot water and plated with garnish.

5. Again the roasted potatoes were the same.

Of course waiting for them to fix our meal that we had already waited 70 minutes for was out of the question. Then it took us another 15 minutes to wave down our server we were fed up.

In the end we had to pay $12 each for our salad (remember this was a Table d'hôte so trying to figure out how they came to $12 per salad) and $16 for our wine. They gave us a gift certificate for $24.50 (which I am not even sure where that number came from).

Needless to say we were a bit miffed that they just didn't comp our meal, so ticked we gave them back the gift certificate.

Will never return

Great food - mediocre service.... Had some very good food last night at Cyranos. Unfortunately, as other reviews have alluded - the service is not spectacular. We showed up only to discover that they didn't have our reservation - though we had booked a table for two - as a result we had a mediocre table. Nor did they seem terribly happy to see us. Not a big deal but noticeable as I hung up our coats and the server trotted off ahead of us to our table.

Now the food was quite good. We had nice appetizers - beet salad and a shrimp cocktail. Both were generous, fresh and very good. Our mains were good, too. I had a fantastic creole dish. Despite being loaded with lots of fresh seafood and choriso - it was extremely light tasting. The rice was perfect and the smokey creole sauce superb. One of the best dishes I have had in a long time.

I am not sure if the staff is simply over worked, but the meals took A LONG time to arrive. The server dropped the plates on our table and ran. It felt like a diner. And it took A REALLY LONG time to clear out plates. And again, I am not super picky about service, but it just seemed as if they were all out of sync. People all around us were waiting for bills, food or drinks.

And because it isn't an inexpensive restaurant ($130 for two, wine and tip included) - service makes a big difference, and I am not sure we'll return. But the food is generous, freshly made and very good.

Worst experience ever!. I took my boyfriend to cyranos for the first time for his special birthday dinner. It was the worst experience i have ever had at a restaurant. The server did did come to our table to say hello to us or ask us for drinks for close to 10 minutes. we ordered right away since we had 10 minutes already to stare at the menu and we were starving. The food took literally an hour to come out.. (while we were waiting we thought about leaving, but did not know if this was a regular wait time, considering they make everything on the spot). when we finally got our food an hour later, my boyfriends dish was wrong. The girl said she could make what he ordered but it would take 25 more minutes. After an hour of waiting already who would wait another half an hour??? So we shared my chicken dish. For a $24 chicken plate.. i was not impressed. the potatoes and vegetables were bland.. and the chicken was quite small.. nothing special, and definately not worth the wait. The server did not compensate us in anyway, all she did was take off my bf's dish which he didnt even get. When she brought the bill she just put it on the table and walked away. She did not apologize or in anyway try and make us happy. We both left hungry and very dissapointed. Not to mention, on the way out she never apologized or thanked us for coming. For the prices in this restaurant, it is not worth it. Save your money.

Nice ambience and great service but don't order the steak.

My husband and I stumbled upon this gem by accident. The pasta is made fresh on premises. We've since returned several times even though it is not close to home or work. The service and food is far superior to some other popular Italian restos in the city and well worth the trip to bells corners. Their Italian sausage pasta dish is AMAZING!

Fresh pasta fix. I'm a nut for fresh pasta. If you are like me and need a good fresh pasta fix, try this place. I think all the pastas on the menu were fresh. I had one of the specials which was papardelle with bolognese sauce. Generous portions, perfectly done noodles and very flavourful sauce. I'll be going back soon to try something from the regular menu. Or their bread was fantastic as well.

...I decided to check out a local Italian spot nestled in the heart of Bells Corners; a quaint little place called Cyranos. This is one of the first places I've gone to that wasn't recommended to me by someone else. I drove by it so many times when we were living in the nearby hotel waiting to find our house, I figured it was high time I checked the place out. I knew it was quite a pipe dream on my part to think we were going to make it through dinner out with the 3 year old and the 10 week old without a TOTAL Gong Show of a night, but a Momma can dream, can't she? As soon as we
