The food is good and that is perhaps this restaurant's saving grace, but definitely not enough to have us come back. This is a tiny (albeit very cute) restaurant with few tables but it still took 45 minutes just to get table water. We spent our evening trying to get our servers' attention (two of them) and waited over an hour for our food - we were starving. My partner's tacos came out cold. There was a total lack of care of concern for their diners. It would also be such a plus if tables were cleaned between guests and if hand sanitizer was provided at each table. There are so many amazing Mexican restaurants in Ottawa to choose from, this is not one i would revisit.

Their decor was insanely vibrant and full of character, I was mesmerized from the second I stepped in the door and instantly fell in love with their charming atmosphere. We got their enchiladas and a taco platter 🌮 , both served with Mexican rice & black beans! They were all freshly made and so flavourful!
You have the options of grilled chicken, pulled pork, beef and veggie to choose from for enchiladas. The portion for the enchiladas was really generous, so I definitely recommend getting that if you are looking for something filling. As for the taco platter, you get to choose any 3 tacos from the menu- we had spicy fried chicken, cochinita pibil (pulled pork), and pulled beef. 😋
Note that there is limited seating at this hole-in-the-wall-feel restaurant, but we were seated right away. This place is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area and you are craving some Mexican food!

Authentic Mexican cuisine, not Americanized, which is so nice. Amazing taco trio deal - 3 for $21 so I could try a variety of them. Friendly, welcoming staff. They accommodated my no onions of any kind (also marked on receipt & mentioned twice with asterisks so cooks were well aware and wouldn't miss it) without looking down on me for it! I'll come back for sure!

Not very good Mexican food if you're looking for authentic. The chicken was dry, nothing was seasoned. I asked for the sauces on the side so I could taste them individually and both lacked seasoning. Way too much money for the quality, in my opinion.

I LOVE Ola Comida the bring take home food is INCREDIBLE and I love how inventive Donna is with her Shepherds Pies.
I can't say I ever have had the same one twice and I would be very disappointed if I had every thing is always slightly different and that is what I like best about the food.
Consistent quality, always a change in flavor and ALWAYS DELICIOUS.

Ola Cocina you did it again!!! An absolutely amazing take home feast. Love love love the take-home kits. Our presentation is no where close to yours but the flavours are so very present. So glad we order lots so we get to feast for a few days! Thank you so very much!!!

Very cute spot, and nice waitstaff. I found the tacos were just ok and even not great, a bit bland and the flavour harmony was just not there for me. I don't think I would eat here again personally.

Covid ready, excellent food. Drinks sold were tiny! No napkins included in the take out bag, which seemed odd. Like how the neighbours are all in on the theme. Slice of Mexico, in Vanier.

Cute little family owned restaurant with amazing food. If I lived in Ottawa I’d be a regular but road trip from Montreal is well worth it :) I will be back ... my mouth is still watering from the delicious tacos. And the homemade tequila-lime icecream!!!!! To die for

Really good food just too small of a place I felt really squished and bumped my shoulder and hip while trying to squeeze by to get a chair... they really need a bigger place because this place gets busy. Avoid coming around dinner time if you're claustrophobic

Hands down one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time! � Donna and staff do it up right. It's a small but very mighty spot. Definitely worth a try for anyone looking for fun mexican food with some seriously amazing flavours and fresh ingredients. Simply fantastic.

What a find!!!! The restaurant has a casual and homey vibe. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I have food allergies and they modified anything to meet my needs. The food was out of this world. The tacos were just as good as the ones in Mexico!!! I highly recommend this gem!

The food was fabulous and fresh. The four of us shared the sampler platter starter, with chips, salsa Roja, salsa verde, guacamole, pico de gallo, and two stuffed and deep fried jalapeños.
All of us got taco platters with various fillings, and they were delightful.
We capped the meal with two shared orders of churros. Be sure to save room - delicious, and the dulce de leche is divine.
Definitely worth the drive!

Love the atmosphere here, felt so authentic . The tacos were beautifully prepared in rustic style on homemade corn tortillas. The open kitchen assisted the small mexican village taco stand flare. Even found room for freshly made churros and caramel sauce. We had the pleasure of chatting with the restaurateur Donna, she's the Gem to this crown. Will be back with friends...family ...work mates. .or whoever wants to show up with me.

Best Mexican food I've had.....thats it! End of critique..... fresh honest delicious food, and made with love. We had the pleasure of watching our food getting cooked and the 2 chefs were laughing all night long and to me that's what made this dining experience unique. So if your undecided and reading this review.....get your ass down there and try it.....p.s the diablo hot sauce is superb
