Amazing restaurant. Great value for money. Excellent service. Just 1 comment. Your gluten free buns are not very good. Perhaps a new recipe. Thank you for having the option but perhaps a new recipe that makes them better so we can enjoy the meal a bit more. Also willing to pay for the upgrade should you go that route.

Service was great. The decor is really nice and provides a nice ambiance. Drinks and appy were great. Crispy calamari but super tender. However, that's where the awesome food ended. Everything else tasted good but not great. Definitely not enough to match the cost. Maybe they need to switch to dark plates, since all their food is very pale and the beautiful tables are nicely lined with white cloth. The major flaw was cold vegetables. However they were totally apologetic and took one of our desserts off the price. Not sure if this place was great once or has yet to reach its full potential. Definitely needs a new head chef and possibly a pastry chef to breath see life into the food. They have service and drinks down. Need wake up their food!

The order took an hour and we also got wrong food at first. We didn’t complain because we just wanted to eat something instead of waiting for another hour. We just told the staff that we got the wrong food but it’s fine. Pizza and pasta tasted good overall. They asked if we shared food and they served them with separate plates. Nice and quiet place to have brunch. I can’t say It was the best experience though.

We had a nice time here, beautiful place but the music was too loud and also I had the salmon pizza was disgusting the mix between sauce with dill combined with the tomatoes and smoked salmon and on top spinach just a bunch of spinach ..I didn’t like it at all..also the pizza is for a single person a small one which for the price does not fit :) Also the crust wasn’t really Italian as is supposed to be ! Maybe this place is not for pizza for sure My husband had pasta and he liked it ! So go for pasta not for pizza here ! Enjoy !

Amazing food, service, ambiance. Everything was perfect. I had the smoked salmon fettuccine (opted for linguine instead) and hubby had the pescatore linguine. Serving size was perfect and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back when in Ottawa again. Keep up the great work!

We had a great experience at Vittoria Trattoria. We had the calamari (a bit spicy), bruschetta (really good), pepperoni and mushroom pizza (excellent pepperoni and tomato sauce), chicken Parm and one of the best carbonara I've ever had. For dessert the molt cake with vanilla ice cream and the mousse cake. (It was too much food for 2 adults and 1 child). The portions were good, the waiting not too long, service was excellent. Will come back for sure.

We ordered take out for 11 people. It was ready on time. The appetizers were amazing. The salad was delicious. And the main courses were amazing as well. We also had a chocolate cookie cake, a caramel cheese cake, and cannolis which were all mouth watering! Definitely delicious food, but it was very expensive.

I had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and bacon...the chicken was microwaved and had that after taste...and the bacon didn’t taste like bacon...it was disappointing. I’d recommend flame broiling that chicken and getting some flavor in there.

We have been here several times. This time as a family group of ten. The food was fantastic as always and the service was even better. The special was a bagain at $25 and included a salad. They were happy to offer vegetarian options. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was a little slow but acceptable for a group of ten. Great food and a classy place for a special occasion.

We were a party of 15 last night. We had a great table and our server, Chris, was phenomenal. Personable, friendly and prompt service. We felt welcome and at ease for the entire 3 hours we spent there - thanks Chris for making our celebration that much better with your superior service and kindness! The food was excellent too, as always!

6 of us celebrated my mums 82nd birthday today at Vitoria trattoria. It was a great choice, we were able to get a little dressed up as the setting is a little more formal than many other restaurants. The food was outstanding as was the service provided by our server, Jamie.

This used to be a great place and we always enjoyed going there.  The last couple of times we've noticed a decline in the quality of their food but thought we'd give them another try.  Yesterday's meal sealed the deal........we will not be returning.  We were 4 people and our food took an incredibly long time to arrive.  However, I understood why when they served it.  They needed extra time to burn my salmon cakes (the dinner special).  They were burnt, oily and tasteless.  I didn't have time to wait for another dish so just filled up on the side pasta and bread.  I'm sure the kitchen thought they could get away with it but instead they have lost 4 customers.  Subpar quality for the prices they charge.

My go-to restaurant when craving Italian cuisine. Kind and friendly service combined with the Linguine Alla Sophia pasta makes this restaurant an easy one to come back to often! Their Shrimp Sambuca is also quite delicious.

It's been years since I've been there so i went back to an old favorite last week. Of course, i was not disappointed. Service was excellent, the waiter was very nice and friendly. And our pastas were delicious. Their crème brulée is one of the best i've had

Outstanding Italian restaurant with a relaxed modern atmosphere, an extensive and varied menu and amazing service. The wine selection alone is a reason to visit this landmark restaurant, but the pastas and main courses will have you coming back for more. Perfect for a romantic evening any day of the week.

Disappointed. I was there last Saturday and although my tortellini was good,my daughter's linguini was undercooked and she could not eat it.She did not want to say anything ,as we were with company.My husband ordered mussels and part of the mussels had not even been cooked.He told me they were still Frozen.His crab meal, which was the special, and it was soggy.<br/>Unfortunately, it takes a bad experience like this ,to give a restaurant a bad impression.We will not be returning.There are far better Italian restuarants to go to in Ottawa.

Tasty, but.... My partner and I decided to go for a fancy dinner where we wouldn't have to fight to find parking in the Market. <br/><br/>We were seated quickly and I was definitely surprised to see a lot of large groups that evening. The waitress graciously introduced herself, which is a plus because no one seems to do that anymore. <br/><br/>Started dinner with Shrimp Sambuca, which was an experiment as I've never had it before. It came on a square piece of puff pastry with 4 shrimp on top and generously doused in this cream sauce. I didn't expect it to be sweet and nothing in the dish description led me to believe that it would be sweet. Unfortunately, the puff pastry being on the bottom meant that 90% of it was soggy. This dish tasted like shrimp and puff pastry with a melted white chocolate sauce. I didn't like this dish, but my partner happily ate the rest of it. <br/><br/>As our mains, we ordered Vitello Marsala (veal) and Pollo Parmigiano (chicken). The veal came in three thin strips and was a bit of a hit/miss. One of the strips of veal had a lot of connective tissue in it, making it absurdly chewy. The sauce that went with the veal was okay, but did not blow my mind away. The chicken dish was a very standard piece of chicken breast with a side of the most amazing roasted garlic linguini. It was seriously very tasty. <br/><br/>Overall, the portions felt generous enough for a fine dining experience.<br/><br/>TL;DR: Service was nice. Shrimp and "white chocolate" should never mix. Order the pastas, not the meat dishes.

Spacious, well decorated. Although I still prefer the downtown location, this one is not too shabby either. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the interior is gorgeous. Very spacious. Food is about the same quality as Byward Market - although slightly different. Superb service.

Frozen Foods. This dining experience was less than good...In fact, it's the biggest disguise of authenticity I have ever seen. Italian you say? The Italians would pray for justice if they ever ate here. Calamari was a frozen box heated up. The pieces stuck together because they had been frozen together. The pizza was recommended as the best....it was a frozen dough with toppings thrown on it and baked. I think Loblaws serves some pretty good pizza after eating here. The only thing that was good was the filet with mashed potatoes. ...and certainly not Italian. #2 thumbs down

We visited the Riverside location on Saturday May 31. I like to open concept with the view on the kitchen and wine cellar. We ordered the Antipasto Della Casa plate, minestrone soup and bruschetta as appetiser. They were all very good and big portions. As for entree 2 of us had Fetteccine Pescatore wich were ok noting else. 2 others had the Vitello Picata and 1 the Vitello Marsala both were very good. As for desert one ordered the Crème Brûtée and it was too hot. Normally the middle temperature should be cold and and top well burned. I had an Americano and it was excellent.<br/><br/>We ordered a few bottles of 2011 Valpolicella Classico, Ripasso Superior, Tomassi and they were excellent.<br/><br/>The service was excellent, the waitress knew her drinks menu very well and proposed us a fun drink. I would return to this location anytime.

Very good. In a city where the italian food generally consists of Prego sauce on supermarket noodles (and a populace that 'likes it').. this place stands out as an actual italian restaurant.<br/><br/>My wife and I have gone many times - and while I do agree there are some consistency issues, its never bad. The waitstaff have been extremely attentive and can be very personable. <br/><br/>My second time at Vittoria was the first time I have ever sent my compliments to the chef.

We had dinner at the Riverside location of Vittoria Trattoria on the weekend. Overall, it was OK. I would give it a 7 out of 10 at the very most. Service was OK. Waitress told us how much she makes, which we thought was inappropriate. Food was OK. It would have been nice if they were a bit more generous with the shrimp in the shrimp pasta. Wine was not cellared at the right temperature so it had to be chilled. Bill came to about $50 per person with wine, taxes and tip. Was expecting more. Will not be hurrying back.

Came here for dinner with some friends. Location wasnt ideal for me. Place was beautiful, liked that I could see the lichen, and service great. I got spaghetti napolitana which was good but I expected more for the price and restaurant. My friends got Tortellini Gorgonzola and penne alla nonna, both I thought were rather creamy but tasted great. Nice place for a romantic dinner or a girls night. Expensive for what you get though.

Great meal and service. Had the pleasure of dining at the VT Riverside on March 24, 2012 and was very pleased the service, quality and ambiance. Cognac Shrimp appetizer and Linguine Pescatore main course..delicious. What a pleasant experience compared to the horrible meal I had had at Al's Steak house recently.

Dissappointed. Looks like it should be great but not a high quality restaurant. Service was poor and quality of food was medium at best. Last time, found insect in salad. Now, with more restaurants opening in the area, no reason to go back.

Food is good but pricey. If you want Italian bypass this place and go to Preston street. Preston St has much more variety, much better atmosphere & is a lot more authentic
