Met some friends there for drinks and supper. We had to wait about 1/2 hour for our table, so we sat at the bar. I ordered a Caesar, it was nice & spicy but it came in a short glass which I found strange, an no celery! Luckily I asked for less ice! Within 25 minutes our table was ready, it was a high top one, and I'm not really a fan of those types but oh well. Ordered their calamari as an app, it was very good, one of the best I've tried! But it was my main that still has me drooling! I ordered their lobster tail ravioli topped with shrimp!!!! OMG it was to die for. Rich and creamy! Good enough portion too. Again cannot say enough, it was simply scrumptious!
From the time I had the restaurant in my sight until the time I left was amazing. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had dining out. I drove from Syracuse, NY to meet my family for a bite to eat and we all couldn’t believe how great everything was. The taste of the food was FRESH and delicious. Flavor was out of this world. The service could not be topped. We had Julie as our server and a glass couldn’t touch he table without a refill behind it and 5 minutes didn’t go by without a quick stop to our table making sure everything was ok. The chef personally brought out my dish. The whole experience blew me away. You can tell that there was a ton of passion put in to this business and put in to everything I ate tonight. 5 stars is not enough.

Everything was perfect. Service: friendly, welcome, knowledgeable about the menu, not too fast but not too slow.
Food: tasty, portions were not too small but not too big, and not too expensive!
The place: trendy, classy but rustic at the same time, lots of place to move your chair or walk to the bathroom. The tables are just far enough to each other so you aren't bother by other's chatting meaning you can hear your own table's conversation without having to talk loud.
The whole place was inviting, very clean too and the staff look nice, have good manners and class.
I highly recommend it. I'm definitely gonna come back here.
We had a wonderful experience eating lunch at Joey’s last Sunday. We had a lovely table at the patio. The server was courteous and friendly. The food was superb. The portions were the right size and packed with flavour. Food presentation was good as well. We will definitely go back to Joey. Great place.
We went to Joey Lansdowne for the first time last night and had a very enjoyable experience. Our server was great and super engaging, we were able to make menu substitutions for allergies really easily, and the manager even came by our table to welcome us on our first visit. She even treated us to something a little sweet because we were celebrating our anniversary. Coming from the industry, I was really impressed with our experience. The food... Forgot about the food. It didn't taste generic, which is hard to find in Ottawa. Good job guys..
My experience at JOEY was beyond awesome. Compare it to a kid getting their first $ from the tooth fairy, or opening a gift under the tree and it is EXACTLY what you asked Santa for. Better yet, compare it to really wanting a rare bottle of wine, or whiskey, and finding out the LCBO has one bottle left...and they’re giving it to you free! We were there celebrating our anniversary, and our friends had highly recommended it. JOEY staff went above and beyond-from calling to confirm our reservation, to checking in enough, but not enough to make it feel like your waiter is stalking you :) The food was on point, visually stimulating and served without a single hair in it! Imagine! Desert and after dinner drinks were just as fine as a business class seat on VIA rail. To top it off, check out the individual bathroom stalls WITH sink taps that both wash AND dry your hands! Hey, this kinda stuff impresses us women :) Well done JOEY, well done.

We had such an amazing experience at JOEY Lansdowne last night! Food was incredible and the service was top notch! Our waitress was adorable and so helpful! She enjoys her job here and it showed! She was so helpful in recommending starters, meals, wine and even dessert! Hands down one of the best places to go!
Great service and wonderful energy! Loved the sushi and calamari. Great choice of wine by the glass. I will be back for the patio! Too bad it was raining. Again.
Their veggie burgers are the best I ever had thus far and doubt anyone else can top that! I Love the fact that they add to your traditional burger toppings such as bean sprouts and avocados!
Last night was my 2nd visit to Joey Lansdowne. First time at the patio and yesterday inside. My wife and I had a great time. Service is excellent, restaurant is nice and food is delicious. The quality of the food is amazing and the service is fast and professional. Defenitly going back.
Amazing service and food to die for. I highly recommend!!!
I gave a rating of 5 because our food was great and our waitress was outstanding...Unfortunately I cannot remember her name. This was the first time my daughter went and she loved it too and she's very picky...atmosphere, music and restaurant was a treat for my birthday. I will recommend for sure and thank you Massimo!
Food is consistently good. Make sure to have a reservation before visiting. I strongly recommend the sushi cones!
I wasn’t overly impressed with Joey. I found it felt very corporate and franchised. The menu had a broad selection which was nice. Our server was friendly as well. I had the salmon bowl and it was enjoyable. I don’t think I would go back but my friend quite enjoyed it and said he would go back.
Great food! Nice, lively atmosphere. Always busy but that's a good sign. Love the patio they have set up. Amazing service as well! My go to place for get togethers!
Had a great Market Salad last night!!
Absolutely Delicious!!
Molten Chocolate Cake was amazing!!
Would definitely recommend, music is loud, but the service was excellent.
We were at lansdowne and randomly decided to have dinner at Joey and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and our waitress was very knowledgeable. Everyone in our group of five enjoyed their meal. The ravioli with lobster cream & prawns was on the smaller side though. I personally really enjoyed the pan-roasted mushroom pasta (the portion was more than enough) and my bf liked his hand-pressed burger. The desserts were also delicious. The only negative is the pop. Although is was refilled often, there was so much ice that it got diluted by the time you got to the bottom of it. I'd rather have one glass with little to no ice without free refills than five glasses of diluted pop.
I have dined here twice, once in August 2016 and again on February 24, 2017. I went on Friday nights and both times the place was packed. Fortunately as a single guy I can just dine at the bar. You just have to wait for a seat to open up.
Like a few others have said, you're not coming here for the food but for the ambiance. Some of Ottawa's finest ladies frequent this loud, brash but attractive looking restaurant/bar and they play JUMP FM style rap music in the background. Many didn't seem to come here to eat but to drink. JOEY'S food is decent. It's cooked to order and well presented. I enjoyed the Steak Frites on my last visit but felt they could have given me more Steak. They have good WI-FI as well.
Not a place I regularly will frequent but it's worth making a couple of trips a year. If they can do a satisfying job on busy Friday nights then that's a good sign.
Great atmosphere and staff! Everything tastes fantastic and tons of menu options to fit any taste, and the soufflé is a must try. Always fun at any time of day but make sure to make reservations, place is always busy.
Whenever we'd go to the movies or Whole Foods we couldnt help but notice how busy this place always seemed to be. We decided to give it a try a few days ago and we now know why its always packed!
We didnt have a reservation so we waited for our table at the bar. Mixed drinks and apps there were fantastic and service was friendly.
We both had steak (something the place specialzes in apparently) and both our meals were amazing! Mine came with an awesome mashed potato side wrapped in a spring roll wrapper: very creative. The food wasnt terribly expensive for the type of place this is but the drinks were pretty steep. The atmosphere was great, if a little loud, but all in all it was a wonderful experience.
Great location! The service is fast! There's always something new on tap! And the FISH TACOS ARE KILLER GOOD! This is a great spot to catch the game while mowing down on good food and having a beer. Well done Joey! Well done!
Came here for dinner for Father's day. I had one of their chicken sandwiches with caesar salad. My father had a burger with bacon & cheese with fries.
The service was a little odd to start. We were seated and a server took our drink order, and then 2 minutes later another server came over and said she was taking over. She came back a few minutes later to take our order and was surprised that we didn't have water yet. When the food came out, my food came out, and my father's came out a few minutes later.
The caesar salad had lots of parmesan, capers, and fresh lemon squeezed over it. I could tell it was fresh, because they had apparently missed 2 lemon seeds that fell into my salad. The flavour was okay, but it was a little salty (from the capers) and a little too lemony for my tastes. As for the sandwich, the chicken was tender and juicy, bacon crispy, the bun was nice and soft, and the cheese was melted. This was all good, however the chicken itself was only big enough to take up about half the bun, and they did not, as far as I could tell, include the extra spicy mayo I had asked for on it.
My father's burger was pretty huge and on a pretzel bun, but the size of it was heavily bulked up with tons of lettuce. He seemed to enjoy it though.
Overall, I think for what it was, it was overpriced, and I probably wouldn't bother to return, myself.
Perfect place to chill ! I and my girlfriend were there on a Tuesday and never felt like a weekday! Ambience, food was totally spot on! We ordered Tandoori Chicken flatbread to start of and believe that is the best starter I've had in a long time. Tandoori chicken was moist but felt could increase the size of the tandoori chicken on the flatbread but nevertheless it tasted great! for main I ordered Bombay Butter chicken which was the finest butter chicken I've had in ottawa. I'm sure no Indian restaurant in Ottawa could match it. My girlfriend ordered Alfredo Pasta which was good! To finish of Choco Lava Soufflé! Thought it would look more of a Soufflé but it didn't. However, not a big fan of dark chocolate so didn't enjoy the desert. On the whole it was a great experience at Joey. I'm definitely going again and again!
Last night was my first visit to Joey's Landsdowne. There were four ladies in my party. First, the ambiance was lovely and we were seated promptly to a great table. We were served by Sarah - who was PHENOMENAL! I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and she knew her stuff. She was very knowledgeable on the food, ingredients and preparation of the dishes and was very attentive without being intrusive. Second - the food...WOW! Everything we had was exceptional. We started off with three appetizers for the table to share (the Calamari, Tandoori Flatbread and the Fish Tacos). Everything was very fresh and the Fish Tacos were some of the best I have ever had. For our mains we ordered the Protein Burger, Steak & Sushi, Superfood 500 Salad and the Farmers Market Chicken Salad. The portions sizes were very generous and everything was prepared to perfection. We ended the evening with a few orders of the homemade apple pie which was heavenly! Thank you so much for a great ladies night out - we will definitely be back and ask to sit in Sarah's section again. BRAVO!
Excellent food great fusion choices, awesome deserts and very educated, responsive & helpful staff. I would recommend to anyone visiting Ottawa.
Thought this place was great, didn't have to make reservations, was given wine to taste while we waited for our seats, only took 5 minutes and they were pretty busy. Nice ambiance. Food was excellent, has sushi and steak and wine all were top notch.
Very nice place! Nice variety of food and a good variety of wines and drinks. The ambiance is upbeat and the design and layout is entertaining. An interesting restaurant in Ottawa.
Over the holidays I returned to Ottawa and was graced by a personal tour guide who drove me down Bank Street pointing out all the news restaurants – and the ups and downs each one has faced since its inception. Completely unaware of what I was to face, we drove into the new Lansdowne Park – a spectacle it is! I was told that the renovations at Lansdowne were complete and the venue had held several games and festivals over the summer after I had left. But never did I hear the renovations included a plethora of restaurants, stores, and rows of brand new condos. Over the course of the week I began to sense a level of resentment that was echoed later last week in Peter Hum’s article on “Lansdowne’s restaurants lack[ing] diversity — with small exceptions”.
First time at Joey Lansdowne tonight. My husband and I loved the vibe, open kitchen concept, modern feel and the menu options! I ordered a Caesar to drink and the lobster and prawn ravioli for my main, hubby ordered steak frites. Everything was delicious, steak cooked perfectly and local greens decorated our plates which added a nice fresh flavour to our already tasty dishes. Want to try so much more and will be returning again soon. Our only complaint was our server. She acted as if our table was a bother to her and was very bland, not friendly at all. I will not hold this to the restaurant because she seemed to be the problem and nobody else.
Such a lovely place! I shared a burger and then hot buffalo wings, and both were great! The wings were the best I've had in Ottawa! Their sauce is delicious but small sized wings which was still awesome ! The atmosphere here and service are always welcoming and great! Definitely recommend it, and for birthdays too!
We really like this place. The chicken breast on focaccia is to die for. And I love skinny fries and got a huge portion with my sandwich. I've been there twice and liked both times. I had a wonderful salad the first time, fresh and crisp.
It's a great place and has a nice atmosphere.
We've been twice and enjoyed both times. Enjoyed Marvest and Van Morrison in the distance. Would go back.
Food here is awesome! So far I've had the sushi cone, the steak and sushi, the fettuccine Alfredo w chicken, the Portuguese chicken sandwich and the beach salad, all of which are at least 8/10 dishes. Service is almost always impeccable (had one waitress who couldn't be bothered to talk to my friends and i) and the atmosphere is beautiful. Really fun music (TheSoundYouNeed is on there alot). I would highly recommend joey to anyone for a classier night out :)
Joey Lansdown is an amazing restaurant. So delicious. My family and I go there very often. The open kitchen is Beautiful and very clean. My go-to meal is the steak frites with a strawberry burst. The strawberry bursts are bottomless. So yummy. I love the restaurant😀.
Food is made fresh and visible for the patrons of the restaurant. Beware the protein burger on the gluten free menu was thought to be a soy protein burger however it is indeed a beef burger.
The lettuce wraps were a hit, flavourful and fresh. I would definitely return, the environment and service are thumbs up.
Great food! Great Staff! Fun patio. Had a wonderful time. quick service, fresh food, great music!
will be back for sure
My friends and I recently spent a gorgeous summer evening on the patio, and it won't be the last time. The vibe at this place is super cool. We sat outside under awnings and lights deep into the night. Server was great and attentive, but also left us alone once he realized we were spending much of the night there. The elderflower cocktail was delicious and comes with a beautiful watermelon beet as an edible garnish.
Group had lunch here a few weeks back. Have to say that everything ordered was good. Love the open kitchen and layout of this place. Lettuce wraps great. Small steak frites a delight. Even the desserts were wonderful. However, big minus was the crazy service. People were nice enough but orders were continuously mixed up, drinks forgotten, mistakes on the bills and ages to get things that were needed to eat your food which would get cold by the time you'd get what you needed. Hope it improves.
Love the patio atmosphere at Joey Landsdowne. We had great food, service and drinks. Try the sushi cones and chili chicken. Can't wait to go back!
I was actually pleasantly surprised by the comfortable atmosphere and selection of dishes at Joey's since I was expecting overpriced fusion dishes and tiny fruity drinks. They do have fruity drinks (the lemonade is tart and awesome) but they also have lots of dietary options and a great patio. I ordered the bistro plate which consisted of coleslaw, chicken, gravy, and fries. Chicken was a bit dry but quite flavourful and the gravy was excellent. They make it with sundried tomatoes so it has quite a unique and lighter taste. Not a fan of the fries however. When they say skinny they really do mean these fries are skinny, like Barbie would be impressed. Overall it was a good experience and I would come back again for drinks since it's the perfect place to sit down for a long talk with friends!
Lovely atmosphere, high quality made with care menu items that are unique in their own ways. JOEY offers Asian fusion as well as European fare. The drinks are great - wonderful flavour and not too strong. Sushi is quite good. I also tried the sliders (appetizer) - great mini burgers, although you only get 3 which I find is a bit overpriced for what it is. For my main, I had the Spanish Paella. I've been looking for a place that serves paella in Ottawa for a while and am so glad I have had the chance to try it although I'll need to experience authentic paella to be sure, but JOEY's paella is fabulous. Flavourful, savoury and the rice is cooked just right with a variety of proteins - shrimp, chorizo and chicken. Definitely will return, highly recommended.
Joey Lansdowne: Trendy, Yummy & Charming
During date night, the Husby and I decided to try Joey Lansdowne. It has an intimate and contemporary look, but it definitely was a lot more alive with chatter and music than it appeared from the outside. Though the atmosphere was not as romantic as we were hoping, it made you feel like Joey Lansdowne was the place to be.
The staff was impressive. They were all incredibly personable and charming. There was a bit of a wait, but they set our expectations. They gave us an option to wait at the bar or walk around the park and they would give us a call when the table was ready. We took the walk and they called in less time than we expected. We were checked on three times in the first 20 minutes. Very attentive.
The menu has a great variety everything from pasta, sushi to east asian cuisine. To me, the sign of a great restaurant is when you find a few items on the menu that make you feel like you have to come back to try them. I had the Lobster Prawn Ravioli at the suggestion of the waitress and it was absolutely sublime. My only complaint was that I wanted more! I forgot to take a pic, but my date (hey, married couples can go on dates too!), had the Butter Chicken and it was equally good and very filling. I am looking forward to our next visit.
Joey Lansdowne is just one more reason I love heading down to the park.
I tried this salad today, it is really tasty. The presentation is awesome, I have to admire it for few minutes before digged in. The restaurant decor is really high end. Everything is just amazing. Really worth a try.
Sashimi Tuna Salad. Amazing salad... So fresh and tasty
Gastro pub with a japanese twist?. I went to Joey's on two separate occasions. I had the tuna burger which was absolutely amazing. It just seems that every plate on the menu has a nice unique take which makes you want to come back and try something new (loaded mashed potatoes in an egg roll crust, sushi cones, lobster grilled cheese, made-to-order apple pie,etc...). Although new of just a few weeks, the staff seem to have jotted down the kinks and I had a pretty good service both time. Will most certainly go back, especially when their patio will be open.
4.5 stars based on great and courteous service, yummy food and overall atmosphere. Unfortunately pricing is a bit high and when we were on the patio there were several wasps (seasonal annoyance; this year is particularly bad). Lower prices and have some semblance of wasp control (I.e traps or decoys) and I’d give this establishment 5 stars.
My friends and I had a nice friendsgiving here! Atmosphere was great, service was courteous and waiting time was short. Definitely a good place for celebrations with friends/family. Only negative thing I'd say really is that the desert menu is lacking in options.
Hadn’t been to a Milestones in quite a while. We had a really great meal sharing apps before the 67s hockey game. Pleasantly surprised how the calamari and coconut app was in particular. Solid service and impressive to see how milestones invests in a shadow trainer to help with our server who was just starting. It’s hard to find staff let alone train right. Speaks volumes about a well run business in crazy times.
I don't like chain restaurants that much. Places like these are basically fast food with extra steps, meaning that everything is standardized and many ingredients are prepackaged. I had a chicken sandwich here, and for a moment I didn't care that I was at a chain restaurant. It was fire. The chicken was crispy, there was a perfect amount of sauce on it. The bun was well toasted. The toppings were well portioned. The fries were also perfectly cooked. I was very surprised at how I perceived the quality of this meal to be. The service was also excellent, our waitress was very friendly and made great conversation with us.
