This outlet of the Colonnade close to the Nigerian High Commission is a popular spacious and bright spot with its signature salads and pizzas such as the pictured Mediterranean Pizza + Italian Salad
If you're going to have a pizza night, you would be crazy to get pizza from anywhere else in the city. My mother and i used to go here 35 years ago. Now my wife and i can enjoy it every couple months. We have gone back to places like Gabriels and every time we say "we made a mistake, should have had Colonnade".
Pickup staff are amazing and make you feel like family.
I go for the pizza and the pizza is wonderful. I order consistently the Mediterranean...as this the one I have settled on that pleases me consistently the most. Always always good. Of the twenty years plus in Ottawa, I have only had one or two less than great...that is pretty amazing...Lots of great toppings...This is Good Pizza!
Whenever I visit Ottawa this is my first stop. The pizza is thick with the cheese on top of the toppings. Fantastic dough. I prefer picking it up and eating at home so the pizza has had time to settle and cool a bit as its easier to handle and somehow even more delicious.
Undoubtedly the best pizza in the city. You can always count on their superior recipes. Nothing has changed since we began eating there forty years ago. The family-owned restaurant staff strive to make everyone feel welcomed. It is always a treat to dine here.
This is the place to go when you're craving pan-style pizza that is thick, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. The ingredients are tucked nicely under a crunchy delicious layer of cheese. The edge crust is very crispy and flaky, but still a good consistency. Brings me back to my childhood memories of what pizza should taste like.
I ordered a meat-lover's pizza to go, with garlic dips. I had been here previously, but not in years, and felt it deserved another go. I am a pretty loyal Gabriel's fan.
The cheese was crispy on top, yet gooey and melted underneath the surface. I found the toppings were primarily concentrated on the center of the pizza, and near the edges on some slices there was nothing but cheese.
The crust is perhaps some of the best I've ever had. Nice and crispy with just the right amount of chew.
The toppings were high quality, as was the sauce. I could see the full pieces of real bacon strips, and taste the anise in the sausage. Not optimal that they were all so clustered though.
The garlic dip is made in house I believe, and has a slightly sharper taste than most. I liked it, however.
The pizza was very salty though, is my only real complaint. I would definitely order from them again, but I don't be switching 100% away from Gabriels.
One of the best pizza places in Ottawa. The interior may need a face lift but the pizza is great. They are always happy to see us!
This is not a thin crust healthy gluten free type of pizza place so be warned. It's Italian/Canadian style thick crust with lots of cheese, fully loaded and very tasty.
My favorite is the meat lovers!
The pizza here is to die for, although I prefer getting either just regular cheese or pepperoni just because it gets pretty messy having all the toppings cooked under the cheese. Delicious either way though!
Perfect spot for an easy group dinner. Showed up with a group of ten and no reservations and were impressed all around. Service was pleasant and attentive. My father in law (paying the bill) remarked how affordable the meal was. Make no mistake - diners looking to feel special and enjoy some ambiance - this is a bare bones dining experience. Leave your pretensions at home and enjoy quality pizza and well priced booze. Someone in our party ordered the French onion soup which looked Delicious! Senior citizens may smell funny but they know good value. Any place with lots of seniors is a go!
Great Pizza. While I hold Colonnade responsible for the poor state of pizza in the city of Ottawa (because of all the crap imitators) I still enjoy their pizza. It's maybe got the best dough ever, and the ingredients are always fresh and delicious.
Good, just not the best.. I came here for a victory pizza after running the full Ottawa marathon a while ago, and I had my hopes set perhaps a little too high. I've had a lot of great pizzas in little Italy, so maybe that spoiled things for me, but it just wasn't as good as I was expecting for the cost. Don't get me wrong, there's no serious disappointment and the restaurant is clean and lovely, but I really would have expected a higher standard for the higher cost. I'll return, but only for an occasional change, this is not a go-to pizza place for me.
A pretty good Pie. I went there for dinner with a couple buddies for the first time. We went on a Wednesday so there was plenty of space for us to be seated. We sat near the back where we were greeted with open arms and a warm smile. Our server was great and was very attentive. We ordered a large pizza; One half was meat lovers pizza and the other half was with chicken, olives and artichokes. The pizza was pretty good and was enough to satisfy (not fill) 3 hungry men. They like to place the cheese over the toppings vs under the toppings which provided more crunch and was a welcomed alternative. The flavors were pretty good (I enjoyed the meat lovers better than the other pizza). I would definitely go back again to taste the other pizzas as well as see how the other dishes taste.
Best pizza in town. I haven't had anything else on the menu. I dream of the Santa Fe! The service is plain and simple so don't go to gushed over. Place your order as and enjoy.
GREAT PIZZA. This is a safe choice for a pie. The pizza is consistent and is always cooked well.
Good Pizza. We went for a pizza lunch while visiting the city, and picked this place because a friend of ours told us they serve great pizza. It was true. The pizza was very good while we were there at the start of the month, and our only mistake was that we took what we couldn't eat home, and the leftovers the next day in the fridge weren't as good as we hoped they'd be. That's more of a fault on us for always relying on leftover cold pizza to be as good as it was warm and just cold instead of hot.
Very good pizza!. We had the meat lover's pizza with added mushrooms and it was the best pizza I've ever tasted. Not too greasy and the cheese was slightly crusty on top which was great.
Also had the Bruschetta as our appetizer and they were very good as well. Very fresh and great portion size too. They actually used a full slice of toast, not those tiny bite size pieces you get at other places.
Bottom line, we'll be back.
Gluten Free crust a winner. Its tough to make a good Gluten-free crust that tastes good and doesn't fall apart. This restaurant does it very well. Combined with our order we also get the regular crust as well, which is a classic and well worth the trip.
If you would like to have a great pizza, cheesy ++ and such a crust-ation. Crust is perfect. The Santa fé pizza is my pick.
Best pizza in town!. Was soooo happy to see these guys open another location closer to my house. This place has in my opinion the best pizza in town, I've never had a bad pizza from these guys and I go at least once a month to pick up a pizza. There home made sauce is just so fresh tasting and that cheese they use is crazy good as well. LOVE the santa fey pizza, very addictive!
Fantastic old-school family Italian restaurant. I loved the pizza: their cheese has a good dose of Parmesan, combined with a slightly thick crust and a zesty sauce: perfect for a family night out. The prices are great too.
Went for pizza tonight, I would always reccomend the original location for a great pizza, we are blessed here in Ottawa with many great classic pizza places, THIS BEING ONE of the best. There's at least five other classic spots in Ottawa.
Best Pizza in Ottawa. I've been going to Colonade since I was a little girl and no one makes pizza as good as their's. The restaurant is definitely outdated, the service is sometime downright awful (half their staff are grumpy and lacking in people skills), and the food aside from the pizza and fried zucchini is not great. They do know how to make AMAZING unbeatable pizza.
I am very impressed with the service and food. Our waiter was very polite and friendly. Our appetizer arrived as soon as we ordered it and the pizza, which was fabulous arrived in a timely manner as well. I definitely recommend eating here.
Good pizza. It's good. It's a higher end Pizza Hut which I also like. Service is marginal on a good day, but in Ottawa that's actually pretty good. In my experience good service in Ottawa is hard to find.
One of several good pizza places. Been many a time to Colonnade Pizza. This is the original and when you try the franchises you will know why. The pizza is very good, but different as befits their reputation. The balance of the food varies. Some is good, other dishes, well there are other Italian restaurants in the City. Service varies. Never bad, though sometimes disinterested. Personally, I prefer some varieties of pizza at the Newport, but YMMV.
An Ottawa pizza landmark. This is very filling thick crust pizza, and the cheese is unusual (I've been told it's marble cheddar, not mozz.)
I love the stuff, but it's a very specific kind of pizza crave. Usually I go for more standard "classic greasewheel" mom & pop delivery. (Lorenzo's Vanier is my fave.) But for eat-in work lunches, Colonnade is pretty damn satisfying with a glass of generic draught.
Protip: Share a bigger 'za with friends, rather than getting a bunch of individual ones, unless crust is your favourite part.
Been a customer since 1967. No pizza better
Wish Toronto had great pizza like this.. This pizza is your classic grease wheel. Soooo good I'm salivating just thinking about. Nothing to exotic to choose from as far as toppings but I can't find decent pizza like this in TO. Guess I'll just have to keep going back to Ottawa for my Colonade fix.
Awesome Gluten Free Pizza. I had the most INCREDIBLE gluten free pizza here. Please try it out!
Ottawa's best pizza. Simple. Great crust. Good salads too.
Still the Best in Town. Consistently great pizza and service. Crust is always perfect and ingredients are fresh. Service always with a smile. What I find about Colonnade is that even though it's been around a long time, they haven't slipped in quality. Will continue to be a customer for a long time (hopefully).
Great staff. Saved me from a parking ticket by having a good relationship with city

It makes no pretense about being a great restaurant; they simply make the best pizza in Ottawa - hands down! If you want pizza, this is THE place to go.
Good pizza, if you like this kind of pizza. I had lunch at Colonnade today after hearing from many people that this was probably the best pizza in Ottawa. I agree- it's the best I've had so far- but it's just not the style of pizza I prefer. We tried the Mediterranean, the Santa Fe and the combination. The cheeses on the Mediterranean were good and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was pleasant for a Saturday afternoon.
So here we are at coolonade we are four people eating tonight two teenagers two adults the place is sanand kind of eclectric decor so me 70s some modern the service is efficie t and friendly the pizza is always hot and fresh out of the oven I wod give colonade a solid 8 on 10
Best Pizza in Ottawa. Good salads. Reasonably priced.
Is Colonnade's pizza perfect? Yes. The pizza is... perfection. Balanced. Even crust, not too doughy, ripe sweet sauce, the toppings even and... that cheese... the edge, where it meets the dough meets the baked cheese... that crisp, tight seam... it is the true mark of genius in a pizza. It should spring back... have tension... there should be a light response to the teeth... a crisp tap when touched. The steam that rises is pure ambrosia.
After a soccer game in which I goaltended well enough to make sure that Sporting Yamala prevailed, I was going to celebrate the win with my still-pregant wife by having pizza - a craving of hers for the day. Since we were playing at Lawnsdowne, we both ha
Drove out of my way to get their gluten free pizza and they did not disappoint! The woman who took my phone order was very sweet and helped me understand what ingredients I could and couldn't have with my allergy. Always a delicious splurge if you're in the area.
Colonnade Pizza has consistently served up some of the best Za in town, been coming here for over 25 years. Love how the crust crunches and how it’s never soggy, always tasty. I would highly recommend as a must try for any pizza aficionados. Hats of to the staff and the guys behind the ovens that make it rain deliciousness 💯 today I went with the Sante Fe 😋
When the owner welcomes you and comes at your table to give a fistbump and the food is really delicious, the service really fast at lunch hour , yes I totally recommend

Great family pizza with great prices. Their pizzas all come with a generous helping of cheese which everyone loved. Great variety of toppings. I was happy the sauce wasn't sweet and the dough and crust were soft and crunchy, respectfully. The only thing I would request to get the 5th star next time is some additional salt, pepper, parmesan cheese, and some oregano sprinkled over the sauce before the toppings are added. Their impeccable timing for my pick up of pizza and wings for a party of 30 people was professional and courteous. Next time we are in Ottawa, we'll definitely order from here again!
Very good pizza - loads of meats and the cheese was phenomenal.
The pizza was awesome! And I had pasta that tasted so good! The food was fresh and the server was kind and patient. I will definitely be going back.
