Review Ice Bar Cafe - Oshawa

The Ice Bar Cafe is truly an Oshawa if not an entire Durham Region hidden gem!! To start with the food is absolutely delicious so let's get that out of the way first however for me it's the atmosphere, decor & features that make this restaurant so special for my family! The Ice Bar Cafe makes me nostalgic for a time in my childhood when everything was perfect! I don't mean the food as a Korean cuisine was not apart of my childhood however the low chitter chatter of families discussing the day, gorgeous lighting that's not too bright or dim, rustic yet somehow modern decor & board games offered to guests or free for the taking well waiting for your scrumptious eats add that special something that seems to be missing at other establishment. The decor as I said is warm & inviting so getting lost in a game of Scrabble or Snakes & Ladders is very east to do! This added feature also provides us parents with an opportunity to actually talk to one another lol I just think these little additions and attention to detail which this restaurant is full of make such an impact on a family night out. I'm not even sure how we discovered this restaurant as to be completely honest we're not or we were not I should say, a family who would be looking for a Korean restaurant however I am so very glad we did!! It's been a few years now that we've been going to the Ice Bar Cafe and every time we've been it's been exactly what we needed ,a special night out with great food, friends & family at a price everyone can afford. They offer such unique choices of different thing my husband's favorite is their selection of pop we don't normally see in Ontario. I was flipping through my old Christmas photos when I discovered these & it just brought back such wonderful memories I though I should share! Thank you so much to the owners of this wonderful restaurant & from my family to yours Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!! May the New Year be filled with prosperity & joy!!!

The food here is fantastic!!!! If you like Korean food, you will love this place. We recently tried the following... Korean Corn Dog, Beef Bulgogi, Pan-Fried Dumplings, Galbi, Dakgolgi and Kimchi Pancake. They were all excellent. Really enjoyed the corn dogs, those were fun. Dumplings were perfect, so was the Galbi beef. My least favorite was the Kimchi, but that's because I'm not a fan of cabbage. The only down side is that this place is expensive, but the food is worth it. Highly recommended.

I went to this restaurant not too long ago with a friend, the food was something that you can't even count as Korean food - their all you can eat K-BBQ was really disappointing. It seems like to me that whoever owns the place or cooks the food doesn't really know what a REAL KOREAN food is. I'm giving it 2 stars only because the staff that was working at that time was really nice and sweet. If you guys bring anyone who is Korean at this restaurant they will probably feel insulted.

Just found out there’s a Korean BBQ nearby so I decided to give it a try. Tbh it’s not worth the price, expensive but not so many food portion & options. Maybe they changed the owner. The price on the poster outside was cheaper than the actual price. I’m a big fan of Korean BBQ but this place doesn’t know how to serve BBQ meal properly. The food wasn’t very good too. Their seaweed salad was the best lol. And there’s a small flyer kept flying around our table too. I would not recommend this place for BBQ. I haven’t tried their dessert bcuz the BBQ made me so disappointed. 2 stars bc the server was nice. Or else 1 star is fair enough.

I walked out. First impression: very dark and poorly furnished. The server gave us many awkward moments. Empty dining hall. Decided to give them a shot and tried to order a classic Gam ja tang but they said it was unavailable due to the following reason: "we found that our customers need to wait for 1h for their meal". Why would a Korean restaurant say they don't have a classic dish and why would it take 1h to serve a soup. At this point, I left. I caution others from this place.

Fairly priced, size portion and good service. I like the diversity - Jamaican and white lady running the kitchen ( Cooking and serving). I''ll definitely visit again.

The kitchen prepared truly authentic tasting Korean meat. Don't come here expecting an authentic experience, though. I'm not sure why the table top was an electric griddle with a tin foil wrapped top. It definitely negatively impacts the experience. I wish they tried harder to make it more like korean bbq. A gas bbq table top is not expensive to buy at Galleria. As on other posts, surely korean people would be insulted to learn this passes as Korean food. The atmosphere is also bad. The tables are poorly and weirdly organized. It's not like ar real restaurant. The servers clearly have no experience with Korean food. They were polite and nice, but poorly informed. The bottom line for me, the meat tasted good. It's what we came for, so it met expectations. Whoever prepared the meat did a good job. It seemed fresh and tasted like korean bbq.

Owner and staff are very friendly and the food is very tasty, well prepared and presented beautifully. The decor is colourful, makes the place pop while not being obnoxious. Now do except a little bit of a wait for your order but it is more then worth the wait. I would recommend this for anyone who either just wants a something sweet to eat or a nice hot meal. They may be a dessert cafe but they have a nice list of Korean style dishes to go along side their desserts.

A gem of a place where you can enjoy authentic Korean food! Riley, the young and friendly attendant, greeted us with her bubbly smile that set the welcoming atmosphere of the place. The restaurant has a neat look to it with interesting paintings on the walls. Everything seems to fit the simple yet beautiful interior. I had a good tour of the cafe as I took pictures while waiting for our food order. Kiyoshi, the male attendant, also greeted us warmly. He and Riley prepared our dinner as Grant and I helped ourselves with cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi-- delish! I had chamomile tea while he chose green tea. Finally, dinner was served! We had the best pork stew, Chap Chae -- glass noodle with lots of veggies plus bulgogi. Of course I had my favorite chicken wings with honey garlic sauce on the side. Yum! Til our next visit!

Went in for the lunch Korean bbq with my sisters. From the other Korean bbq places we've been to, the Ice Bar Cafe has been the best. Great service, great food! Definitely going back for the dinner!

Had my first ever Bingsu tonight-- The choconana... so good!! My kids came too and couldn't stop talking about how much they loved their Bingsu as well!! My daughter (who is quite the dessert lover declares it "the best dessert she's ever had"!) I highly recommend checking it out and trying something different!

Great atmosphere, the Bing Su is so refreshing and a great share dish. But they are more then just desserts....what I also love is there lunches, they have daily lunch specials, with home made sauces. A must go to place, it is one of my favourite places downtown Oshawa.

I had the Bibimbap for lunch , it's a Korean mixed rice dish with meat, rice and vegetables with the cooked egg on top!!

Great food! Great service! I'm so glad we finally have a good Korean BBQ place in Oshawa. Food was more authentic then you would find downtown Toronto and much closer. Definitely coming back

It's a cute new dessert bar that gives a bit of variety to downtown Oshawa. Had the Pandora's Box with banana and oreo with my fiance and it was so good. Will be back to try their Bibimbamp!

We ordered take out. The food looked NOTHING like the pics on their website. Portions were very small and on the bland side. Cheesecake Harmony is a total rip off at $8 for 3 tiny bite-sized pieces of cake and served with edible oil based product for whipped cream.

Great food and drink. Friendly staff and environment.

Looked at the menu and didn't have any sugar free option, talked to the attendant and she CREATED a sugar free bingsu. SUPER delicious and refreshing.
