Review Traditions Family Restaurant - Oshawa

The best Chicken and Lettuce Under Bacon (club) sandwich in the Greater Toronto Area - bar none. Plus, their coleslaw and fries are always fresh and their beer's always cold. Staff is friendly without being intrusive and you're never rushed - opposite to experiences at Oshawa's Teddy's Restaurant and Deli. Great place to pass the time with a drink and a friend.

Ordered the family chicken and ribs meal, chicken pot pie and the bundt cake. Helpful and friendly staff. The food was great. The cake was really good, soft and moist.

Went for breakfast on my birthday. Our first visit back here since the start of Covid. First person we saw was our favourite waitress Daniel. She remembered us and our orders in spite of 18+ month of not seeing us. Food was awesome as usual. Highly recommended.

After many attempts we finally got to try this nearby restaurant, service was good coffee was decent and overall breakfast was good except for the home fries which were very bland no seasoning whatsoever. My son was craving pancakes and we were all beyond disappointed when then brought us these pre frozen pancakes which we used to buy from no frills or fresco, this is an embarrassment to and we will not be going back, if we wanted frozen pancakes we would of stayed home.

Great cozy place for breakfast, food is good and the staff are super friendly and cheery. Great for a family breakfast or to help get over a night of partying.

this is a place my parents introduced me too a few months ago… i never had problems until recently. i’m 17 turning 18 and i think i would say i’m intelligent enough to know when people don’t want to serve you because of the stereotypes placed on teenagers. regardless. i’m a very mature and respectful young woman and so is my friend i brought with me, we came to have a nice breakfast. when we sat down our server came over to take our order, there was an attitude problem from the start… after our food was brought to us we had no one come back to check on us. no refills of drinks, the bills weren’t even brought to our table. we had to go out of our way to find our server and pay at the front. other then that, hearing our server speak to the elderly was a completely different story… she was actually polite. it was horrible customer service, the worst i’ve ever had. apparently people under 30 aren’t welcome loll. the servers name was tammy.

I don't know why people rate this restaurant anything below 5 stars.... I've been here several times for breakfast. Learned about it from my grandparents. Prices are unbeatable. The breakfasts always feel "homey". I always see this one lady when we go for breakfast with darker longer hair. Always so sweet. Will keep going here as long as they are in business. Praying covid doesn't take this restaurant away.

The best Burger n Beer in town is at Traditions. All ingredients are fresh, they do whatever you ask foodwise for under 20 bucks, and the restaurant’s super clean. 5 Stars for Traditions Family Restaurant! If I could give 10 stars I would, the people who work there make it that good.

2018/10/21
We were east of the city for a Sunday drive, and we stopped in Oshawa for lunch at Traditions Family Restaurant. We arrived right at noon, and there were a few small groups ahead of us waiting for a table. We could see that there were some open tables that just needed to be cleared, so we didn’t t have to wait too long. It is a relatively large restaurant with seating for about 200, mainly booth style. The clientele was mostly grey-haired.

After we were seated we were greeted by one of the most cheerful and bubbly servers that I have ever seen. She seemed to enjoy doing what she was doing, and it was very refreshing to see that.

After looking over the menu for a couple of minutes, SWBMO chose Bacon and Tomato from the Sandwich section, and opted for rye bread. The sandwich did come with lettuce, so it was very much a classic BLT. The dish was $6.99 and included a side; SWMBO picked fries. The fries were a medium cut and nice and crispy on the outside.

I ordered the Greek Salad (regular size, $6.99) and added Diced Chicken ($2.99) and upgraded to White Meat ($0.99) for a total of $(11.97). When the salad arrived you could barely see the salad under the mound of diced chicken. For the price, it was a very good portion. On the downside, the chicken was a bit dry and needed some kind of sauce or dressing. Even some of the Greek salad dressing would have helped. After I ate some of the chicken I got to a point where I could mix it with the rest of the salad.

I rarely mention a server by name in my reviews. They don’t wear name tags at this restaurant, so when I was paying at the front counter I asked for our server’s name. MacKenzie was special. Well done!

So a 3 for the food and a 5 for the service.
