Review Rainbow Sushi - Oshawa

Best price for the best food! The sushi was well presented and delicious. The star of our meal was definitely the ginger ice cream. Semi-sweet and super flavourful!

Was a pretty good experience... I read reviews to this place, saw they were good and decided to go for lunch. Lunch was $20 and change for all you can eat (on a Saturday). I had a few things (see photos) and everything was delicious and fresh! The rice/sushi wasn't hard, but fluffy, warm and yummy. Tom YUM soup speaks for itself - Yum!! My spicy salmon and crab were pretty good! I also had General Tso chicken (no pictures taken) and it was too saucy, not spicy and sadly the chicken was rubbery - same with Teriyaki chicken...undercooked and rubbery. Their Japanese beef fried rice was decent but plain - I liked it though and it tasted better with some soy sauce. I'd definitely go back, but I'd try different appetizers other than the Teriyaki chicken and General Tso chicken. They have a wide variety to choose from. Service was fast and didn't have to wait long...

$20 with tax included and 10% cash discount for all you can eat lunch on a weekday. The service was great, fast, and frequent with half capacity. The sushi is of the highest quality and the menu has interesting options like squid, eel, and octopus. For dessert there is only deep fried banana, ice cream, and Jello but in various flavors. Orders are done with paper and pencil. Contrary to old photos, they do not offer free refills on drinks

My husband and I loved Rainbow Sushi! Everything was so fresh and very tasty. You have to try the dumplings as they are the best I have ever had. Stag were super friendly too!

Great food with reasonable prices in Oshawa area. Very clean and well maintained ambience, friendly staff. Good variety on their AYCE menu and prices are good compared to the competitors in the area. One minor improvement could be to keep the restaurant open until at-least 10-10.30pm.

I was here for lunch. The service is good and the place is very nice. The food is...OK...not great, but good enough. It would have been great if they use a different sauce for their teriyaki. The rolls, tofu, etc were well made. However, they have a much better price than anywhere else so it all good. The staff members here are very efficient and attentive. The bathroom is very clean and that typically tells me the attitude of the business. The location is not fancy, but it's very convenient. I had a choice to order off the menu or the all-you-can-eat option. I chose the AYCE and the food came fast.

New favourite place! The food is amazing! Friendly staff and food serving is huge. We can’t even finish the bento box. Their tempuras are the best, crunchy and delicious. Highly recommended. Will be back soon!

This is probably the best sushi restaurant in the Oshawa area in terms of the quality of the meat and other ingredients used. I can't say that I have ever been disappointed during my many visits here. The menu has a variety of foods from Asian dishes to more Western dishes in addition to the sushi. Parking outside the restaurant isn't very good but is manageable. If the lot is full, there is a large grocery store parking lot next to it.

Rainbow Sushi is a excellent example of what a absolute dirty shwa really is!
The Sushi chef was sitting on a crate with his cellphone picking his huge, white head, puss filled pimples and not washing his hands or wearing gloves!!!...furthermore I watched them making Sushi from supermarket fish???....Sushi is not safe to eat this way!!!..it must be blast frozen to a temperature that kills bacteria, this is a great way to end up with intestinal worms and diseases!! The owner is also filthy and never washes his hands and will be very upset if you call out his disgusting manners!
...go to Kyoto house in Whitby folks, the dirty Shwa is not fit, I would give them negative stars if I could!!
First time was a charm!!!. I drive by Rainbow Sushi every day on my way to and from work. I started asking around if people had gone there to eat. A few people at my workplace order sushi from this restaurant. I have heard some really good things about the quality of the food.
Last night I had a major sushi craving but didn't have a lot of time to travel to the place that I like the most in Whitby.
I went and had the all you can eat buffet and the sushi and Maki rolls were sublime!!! The spicy salmon handroll that I ordered was fantastic with lots of thick pieces of salmon combined with all of the other goodies that go in it. There were nice dark pink pieces of salmon and everything was so fresh! Typically when I get a spicy salmon Maki roll it's composed of chopped up salmon mixed with the spicy sauce and mushed all together with other ingredients but that's not how they present their Maki rolls at Rainbow Sushi. There were large pieces of fish and vegetables and all of the Maki rolls and on top of the sushi. I'm from the East Coast where the fish is fresh fresh fresh and I can compare this restaurant with some of the best ones that I've been to in the East Coast!!!
This will be the one and only sushi place I go to when in the area!!!
Try it you will not be disappointed I promise!

Unimpressed. Ordered takeout from their website. 45 minutes when I called to ask about an ETA it was clear they'd missed the order or something, hadn't started it. Took another half hour for the food to arrive. The chicken don and the chicken teriyaki were basically identical, and neither were good, both bland and gristle-y. Won't call them again.

I always pick up the sushi regular combo here for 9.95. I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality of the sushi. Also, their salad dressing is very good. Food has always been ready on time. The interior is very nice, I definetly plan on dining there soon.

Cheap qualitity. The food is very cheaply made. The rolls are composed of 95% cucumber and rice no matter what you order. Sushi pieces are just rice with a sliver of fish. Its OK if you have no taste whatsoever.

Love the food!! Nice place, average price for buffets and lots of choices. If you are a sushi fan as well, must check this place out!
