Review Rainbow Restaurant - Oshawa

Friendly staffs, huge quantity, delicious breakfast with a lot of options. Free Parking at rear on weekends, walk-ins accepted. They only accept Debit or Cash. Loved the interior, it has been telling a lot of stories since a little over 6 decades. I truly admire the family for maintaining the legacy for such a long time.

What a lovely surprise. Our friend brought us here for brunch and now we are even better friends! I'm not going to say more about it, instead I'll leave you with some photos from the place and your own imagination to come check it out yourself.

WOW!! We heard good things from friends, which made us excited to stop in and try. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is a true diner experience. The portion sizes are unreal which equal tremendous value. Whatever meal you order, I’m pretty sure you’ll have enough for a take home meal as well. Not just a huge portion, the flavour is there too! They have a unique menu with many items that piqued our interest… we will be back to try more!

I had a specialist appointment with my daughter recently, and decided to look for a breakfast spot nearby. The rainbow restaurant was within a 5 minute walking distance, so we decided to give it a try. I have a somewhat restricted diet, due to an auto immune disorder so breakfast is typically a safe bet when dining out anywhere. I ordered the bacon omelette with cheese. And I was NOT disappointed. My food looked delicious, and after the first bite, I literally did a happy dance in my seat! My daughter ordered French toast and she was just as happy. The prices were phenomenal, as well! I don’t know Oshawa very well, but I was grateful to find this little gem! When I was telling my friends about this place and the BEST BREAKFAST EVER, they seemed to know about it already, and laughed at me that I’ve never been! Great job rainbow restaurant. Your reputation seems to be shining bright! I will be happy to swing by next month when I’m back for a follow up with my daughter!

Ordered through Uber eats. I had to drain the water out of the container with the omelette. Some parts of the cheese were hard, the meat smelt weird and onions were just mush under the mess. It was just disgusting. Wish I could give 0 stars. Complete waste of $25

Amazing! Large breakfasts... You will not leave hungry! This place needs to be on Diners, drive-ins and dives! The breakfast options are endless and the food is amazing. From the time you enter the door, you will bombarded by a series of hellos. The staff will make you feel home.

I got the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was soooo buttery and delicious! The homefries were perfect and the peameal was SO thick! I will definitely be back! Update: I had the Treehouse club sandwich, and OMG. IT. IS. HUUUUGE! and SOOOOO tasty! 🤤

One of my favourite breakfast places in Durham region. <br/><br/>The atmosphere is great and the staff extremely friendly. <br/><br/>I usually have their egg and bacon special. The portions are extremely generous and the price for food is reasonable. <br/><br/>They do NOT take debit, but they do have an ATM on site. I recommend bringing cash and saving the service fee. <br/><br/>Overall I recommend eating here, it is an Oshawa staple.

Ordered the basic egg and bacon breakfast. Had coffee with 1/2 refill. Surprised when the bill was $12. The wall said 6.75 for my order plus coffee should have been 8.75. No idea how it got to 12. I have the same meal in a dozen places in Oshawa. Highest price before the rainbow was 9. They win the contest for the most expensive breakfast in Oshawa.

Without question best diner in Durham. Classic greasy spoon for those difficult end of weekend breakfasts. Also all the sandwiches are amazing. I have yet to tackle there giant famous plate. It's intimidating when the classic gmc breakfast is hard to finish.

Best breakfast joint in durham reigion! Huge portions, family owned for like 40 or 50 years, good prices, great service, their peameal bacon is awsome!

My son and his friends love this place - decent prices for all you can eat sushi - and related food.  We go there as a family occasionally and have fun - the sushi is presented well, the servers are nice and everyone has a good time and eats well. <br/><br/>The decor is a bit questionable - let's call it eclectic - and the sign to tell you where the bathroom is rocks.  <br/><br/>If you're looking for all you can eat at a great price, stay away from the fancier places and come here.

Be careful. Small family owned restaurant. The owner is a older gentleman and his son runs it I guess... The sons name is louie and is the biggest jerk treats his staff like scum ( trust me I worked there) big potions, great food some waitresses should not be working there as they have no respect and louie should take a class in people skills.

RUDE!. So I googled Vegan friendly restaurants in the Oshawa area as I'm visiting my Mum. I decided to call in advance, just to be sure that this wasn't an old posting and that they still offer vegan friendly fare.<br/>Me: " Hi there! Do you serve breakfast, and if so, do you serve vegan friendly food?"<br/>Rainbow: " Mmm do you eat eggs?"<br/>Me: "No"<br/>Rainbow: "Sorry can't help ya"
