Review Rayan Poissonnerie & Restaurant - Orleans

The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered Fried Calamari, Sauteed Shrimp, Bass and Tilapia. They could do better with the service, like improving on the small plastic cups, and making sure the AC works during a very hot day. A smile also goes a long way!

I definitely enjoyed eating here reminded me of sitting in a beach in Morocco and eating seafood. I love it thank you for the experience

My wife and I found this place with a Google search while out doing errands around supper time on a Saturday evening. When we walked in, we really didn’t know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised that it had a fresh fish counter where you could choose your own fish or seafood and have it prepared to either takeout or eat in. We decided to eat in and have the fish and chips. I had cod and my wife had tilapia. A large salad was brought out in advance of the fish and chips and it was delicious. When the fish and chips arrived they looked and tasted spectacular. The fish was coated in a light seasoned breadcrumb not heavily battered and the fries were a huge portion of wedge fries with a nice seasoning that made them crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They came with a spicy ketchup. We would highly recommend this restaurant. It’s not fancy but the service is quick and the food is delicious. Our thanks to the chef and staff!

This was our first visit and we will definitely be back! Being able talk to the chef and choose our fish from the counter was a neat experience. We had a grilled snapper and the seafood soup. Both were delicious and you could taste how fresh everything was. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Quality fish and seafood, without the premium pricing. Love this place for family dinners.

Ordered a fried fish (tilapia) plus combo (wedge fries and salad) a few times from here and each time it doesn’t disappoint. Everything is nicely seasoned and always fresh! $20 for everything which is good for the amount you get.

Best seafood take out I've had. Octopus is always super soft. Spelt is beautifully cooked. Prawns in a garlic sauce are amasing. And fish cooked exceptionally with a crunchy tail. And best fries ever.

Very delicious seafood restaurant. We had deep fried calamari, shrimp, basa fillet, popcorn shrimp, salad and wedges. They are all very yummy. Must try restaurant in ottawa/Orleans area. Will definitely go there again.

I love this place for seafood. The options go beyond just salmon and trout. You choose fish and choose the weight. Same goes for calamari and shrimp and other items. Then they cook it the way you want bake , grill etc. Love the bass garlic shrimp fried calamari their salad and spicy rice. The spicy rice isn’t hot spicy just flavourful spicy. On top of it the owner is fantastic super friendly and service is great. Overall portions are very good considering the price. I truly recommend this place for delicious flavourful seafood. I always end up going back here after I get disappointed at other places.

Best fish in Ottawa, very interesting way of ordering. You pick your fish, the weight of the fish and the cooking style. Great customer service.

Try the garlic shrimps, potato wedges. The white sauce is really good and complements well with the wedges.

The food was great! Finally a good seafood place that's good! But it's quite pricey! We had the shrimps and calamari and both were great! The fish was good, not as great as the shrimps and calamari though! Friendly staff and an okay ambience

Okay, so I've been to Rayan about four times now and enjoy the food there quite a bit. For many the dining experience can be confusing and intimidating. There is no menu that I've seen, and you pick your seafood, have it weighed, and choose the cooking method (usually grilled, fried, or baked). I highly recommend their fried Calamari, grilled Sea Bream, grilled Tiger Shrimp, and the perfectly fried potato wedges. I will warn you that if you are not careful with the portions you order, you may end up paying $60+ per person.

Terrible service and terrible atmosphere. management must never of worked in service industry doesn't have a clue how to deal with customers.

I have enjoyed the entire dining experience at Rayan with my wife and son, many times. Yes, it's noisy sometimes, but that is because it is full of customers and the casual atmosphere encourages this. This type of restaurant concept is new to us North Americans. Dining at Rayan has a Middle East/North African flavour and atmosphere, which is unique, especially in the Orleans area. The Friendly staff will gladly help you decide what to eat and the manager is always there to welcome you and thank you for your business. And of course, the seafood and sides are some of the very best that we have ever tasted compared to other top rated seafood restaurants, all served in a friendly, casual atmosphere.

This was our first experience. The food was well prepared and well presented. But the noise in the restaurant from the other patrons was unbearable and the music piped in made our first experience, our last. Nothing absorbs the different sounds. It made me rush to eat and I came out of the restaurant with my head spinning. <br/>Also, no menu is available. We do not have a clue ad to what is available other than what we can see in the open refrigerated container. On a positive note, the food is delicious and comes hot to the table.
