Review Jonathan's Of Oakville - Oakville

Jungeun Choi
It was my first time visiting and the overall experience was okay. First of all, the appetizer was disappointing. I ordered vegetable spring rolls. There were 4 small fried spring rolls that you can find from any average quality asian restaurants, but just over priced. It is likely frozen one purchased elsewhere. The main dishes were great. I was impressed by the steak and lamb chop which were in such a good quality and exceptionally grilled. It was one of the best lamb chop I had. The only downside was they were a bit cooled down. Margherita pizza was so so. It wasn't the authentic Italian style I expected. Dessert again disappointed me. I ordered tiramisu as I always do wherever I go. It was same as Costco tiramisu which I had yesterday. My experience could've been so much better if I hadn't ordered it. Service was okay. My expectation may have been too high because reviews I saw from several blogs including Blogto were good. I might visit again just for the steaks but not any time soon.

“Great Atmosphere, Food & Service.” Lovely pleasant restaurant located in the core of downtown Oakville with enough parking space across the street. Splendid nice ambiance with live music in one section which was just fantastic giving us the ability to converse (we were seated in the second section). Main Course is in the $40.00 range and they have a good selection of wine, we tried their house wine as well and it was good. The food was just fantastic, we were all impressed, loved each plate we ordered and had an unbelievable experience. The staff was just amazingly friendly and helpful. In all we loved visiting Jonathan's I am giving Jonathan s of Oakville 5 stars as there are no more to give :-), This is a high-end Fine Dining restaurant!.

We had a great experience here today. Party of 3. See photos. I had the prime Rib burger. My wife had the Healthy Salmon. Daughter had the Cool Noodles. We were all very happy and the service was excellent. We will return.

The steak was so tender, excellent flavor. The scallops were perfectly cooked.

Have been here twice and had the steak. The steak was amazing both times. Tender and delicious, better than some other franchise steakhouses. The salads were very good and authentic as well. Service was great. Overall a great experience. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Our foursome decided to celebrate New Years Eve with dinner at Jonathan's in Oakville. We did this last year and then were surprised to see a fixed menu on the table. We ordered and after two courses a table of 4 were seated beside us and after a while called the waiter and requested a regular menu which they received and then ordered from it. We finished our many course meal at a cost of $650.00The food was very good so this is why we went back but first we checked their website and there was no mention of a fixed menu but just their regular one. On arrival we could barely get to our table as they had jammed so many tables in there was very little room between them. The fixed menu was on the table so we requested a regular menu and were refused as the waiter said it is always a fixed menu even after we told him about last year. This is blatant misleading advertising as we exected what Jonathan's told us on their webite. All of the many courses were mediocre to terrible and were bland with very little taste and this at a cost of $820.00 so leaving the restaurant we felt we were just ripped off. This is the worst restaurant experience we have ever had and will not return to Jonathan's nor will we recommend it.

We have dined at Jonathans several times and have found both the food and service to be of the highest calibre. They offer formal dining in one of the dining rooms or a more casual experience in the J Bisrtro, at a lower price point. Definitely not inexpensive, but we found the prices to be more than justified by the quality.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal here before attending a show at the Oakville Centre. We were seated in the charming J-Bistro area which has an elegant yet laid-back vibe. I had the salmon which was cooked to perfection and my husband had the burger and frites which he proclaimed the best ever. The service was attentive but not intrusive. As we had to get to the show, we sadly had to skip dessert but we'll definitely be back soon. Highly recommended!

Their Rating Is Deserved. I have eaten at Jonathan's a number of times waiting for the food to match the decor and/or the price. It has yet to match either. Quite honestly, the people of Oakville need to respond to this review and let me know where it is that I am supposed to eat. The rating of Jonathan's is right in line with what I would give it, but I have yet to hear of better places to eat in Oakville.

Really unfortunate night at what should be a carefree experience. We were forgotten by our waiter, until I finally asked for the bill. Hopefully this was just a weak night. Not too sure if this is a typical experience now!

Worst experience in a long time. We were here for an event that was planned many months in advance. The food, service, food, and atmosphere was awful. (I know I put food twice; it was that bad.)
We were supposed to be served at 6:45 to account for those with young kids..appetizers arrived around 8. They were cold and disgusting. Too much truffle oil...and not the good kind of truffle oil.
The next course was served an hour later...we had to give in and eat all the bread by that point. Those who ordered beef either got it too well or too rare, never just right. Nor did anyone ask how people wanted it made. Those who got risotto, got al dente mush with no lfavour. A first time amateur could do better.

I would never, ever go back and strongly encourage you to make other plans if you are scheduled to go there. If you're invited to an event, politely find an excuse to not attend.

Jonathan's, if you're reading this, you should be embarrassed. You had an opportunity to make not oniy the $10k for the night but for many, many nights to come with the crowd you were serving, and instead you managed to lose three generations of good customers in a single night.

Get a Grip!. All I can say is thank goodness they've got the "catering/large group" business ... the restaurant itself is old and outdated (and yes, that's after their supposed "reno") ... the owners are arrogant and cocky and you know what, if the food was good, that might not bother us! Honestly, there are better restaurants in town, try Cucci, The new Seven, Pasquale's, etc...

Disappointed. Been to Jonathan's twice now and have been disappointed both visits. During my first experience, service was so so and my food was brought out cold. I decide to give it another try, but sadly it was not any better. The portions were extremely small and there was very little presentation. would not recommend this place.

Best restaurant in Oakville. Quite possibly the best restaurant in oakville. With a menu to die for and some of the nicest wait staff in any restaurant why bother going anywhere else. The soufflé is spectacular. Summer is the best time for this restaurant with the open patio allowing a nice breeze but don't get me wrong there is no such thing as a bad time to visit this spectacular restaurant..

Ate here on a warm summer evening at the Bistro with all the windows open. Few

The last stop on our whirlwind tasting tour was Jonathans fine dining restaurant. I’m going to be straight-up honest with you all here – I did not have a great experience at this restaurant. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t go check it out yourself, I just won’t be going back. I know the whole “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all” philosophy, but what’s the point of writing about the food I eat if I never mention what I don’t like? Anyhow, if you don’t want to read a negative review, I suggest you stop reading now.
