Review Browns Socialhouse - Oakville

Cindy Q
I adore this place! The servers are super attentive, they checked in on us numerous times and were quick to refill our drinks when they were almost empty. I've gone here at least 6 times and the food has always been really great! It is very spacious and kept clean. There is a variety of dishes on the menu and they do have a Happy Hour! Overall, I will 1000% be coming back here! Keep up the awesome service!

The lettuce wraps to start were ok, not much to actually wrap but flavors were delicious. My husband has pasta and enjoyed it and their fish Tacos were probably one of the best Tacos I've ever eaten. The flavors were so good. it was a Tuesday lunch and quite busy but service was good as well We will definitely go back

The staff here is super friendly, I believe our server was Janet. She was very attentive, the food was good, and drinks were ice cold. The ambience is great, perfect spot to catch a game and a cold one. The owner is there himself serving as well. A pretty chill spot overall

Wowww. Visited today my wife and I had the best experience. From the staff at the entrance to Lucas whom I call Ambassador of Customer experience. Lucas shines with success , demonstrates traits of knowledgeable dedicated people, you see you cannot separate a person from their characteristics depending on the circumstances. Congratulations Sharea great manager for creating an excellent team. I suggest they start a program called " Consult Lucas" 😀..his recommendations were more than amazing. Besides good food and cocktails, we would go for the great ambience and welcoming warm environment staff creates

This was my second time dining at Browns Social House. It has been a few years since my last visit but the place looked the same. The staffs were friendly and came to take orders as soon as we sat down. I ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl and it was delicious and fresh. The place was loud but given it was full capacity so it was expected. Great atmosphere for get together with friends and family.

Great food n drinks, service, ambience, vibe. Ordered craft beers, quesadillas, thai chicken soup and we loved everything and had a great time. Really excited for patio experience as we visited during covid restricted times. The place felt really cozy for a chilly winter evening. Would visit again soon.

Edit: 4 to 3 stars - ordered a burger meal with salad and side fries on Uber eats. The burger was good but not worth the price, especially with so many good burger options in the area. That was fine as it's more of a personal preference, but the drop in rating is due to the poor qc. The fries arrived completely cold, as if they packaged it before they even started cooking the burger. On top of that, the portion was absolutely terrible for $9! It was barely a serving for a child and I wouldn't even feel value if I was paying $4. Ive tried several main dishes here now and unfortunately they fall pretty short. Really only worth it here for brunch. Old review: Nice casual spot for drinks and good food. Typical gastropub fair but definitely take care in their food and preparation. While their dinner and lunch dishes are decent, their brunch is amazing!!

So where do I begin? We were looking for a place to hang out with a patio, close to our house and with decent vegetarian options..having driven past this place for the past two years we finally decided to give it go! Got in around 9pm, sat outside in the patio and ordered drinks- pineapple with jalapeño margarita and a raspberry mojito to start. I was skeptic about the raspberry mojito as I don’t like sweet drinks, and my wife loves anything with spice, but boy were we surprised! Both drinks were absolutely delicious and a great start to the evening. For appetizer we shared their KUNG PAO LETTUCE WRAPS and subbed the chicken for crispy tofu… all I can say is it was a flavour explosion in our mouths and we couldn’t get enough of it. The flavours and textures were perfectly paired for a light but satisfying appetizer. For main we ordered their #28 DRAGON BOWL with stir fry vegetables and again subbed the protein for tofu. The presentation was amazing g and the again the coconut rice with all the flavours of the stir fry along with the pickled red cabbage left us wondering why we shared the plate :-)! In the mean time we reorder our drinks of course! For desert we had their Oreo no bake cheesecake jar - and I wish we had ordered two instead of one! It was the perfect desert to end the most satisfying meal I have had in Mississuaga since we moved here 2 years ago. Definitely recommend this place as this will be our new local hangout for years to come!

We all enjoyed the food we ordered. Dragon bowl, hickory burger, roast beef french dip and calamari. I think to welcome us first timers, they even gave us homemade brownies dessert for free! Service is very good, place is neat and the music is not so loud.

Ordered the dragon bowl on the recommendation from a friend and it was really good. My friend had the veggie burger with the cowboy salad and both were really tasty as well. Our food came lightning fast. Not sure if that's an everyday thing or if it was because it was a Tuesday night. Definitely will return to try more of the menu.

I'm here now and this place SUCKS!!!!Terrible customer service!!!! And that is key!!! Coming in like there's one waitress for the entire place!!! Terrible birthday dinner!!!

It's a good place to relax on a weekend! However, my order of flatbread social salad was a little disappointing as the flatbread was very tough, almost as if stale bread was reheated! I had to tear it down with my hands..I mentioned this to the server & she was apologetic but I at least expected that my bill would reflect some sort of "Let's make it right for the customer!" But no such attempt was made! It's not as if the place is bustling with business that they can be so apathetic!!!

Great place for friends and family - wonderful service and staff - menu to please everyone

The quality of the food here is very good, as is the service. My burger was really good, and my wife said that her quesadilla was the best she's ever had. My only complaint is that the noise level is extremely high, making it difficult to talk.

From the minute we arrived to the minute we paid our bill we felt welcomed, the Manager Gary was fantastic, the servers were....good and the food made up for everything in between. Every meal was amazing!

The manager Mike Gepilano was amazing. He has exceptional customer service and exceeded any expectation I had coming to this new restaurant. The food was great. For starters I ate the calamari and sweet potatoe fries which were delicious. For my main I had the halibut fish tacos which were very flavorful, and we finished off with a decadent Oreo cheesecake in a mason jar topped to perfection. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and will definitely be coming back to try the brunch menu.

One of my regular lunch spots. My recommendations are for the Thai chicken soup and the Dragon bowl with chicken. They recently changed the dragon bowl. I preferred the original way they did it but current version is still good. Lots of TVs to watch sports if that is what you are interested in and the service is always very good.

I wanted to come here for awhile late post was for my mom's birthday. The interior is very classy the hostess seemed overwhelmed but had us seated at a roomy booth. Our server was also the bartender got the Hollywood burger while my sister got the Chiptole Pizza and my mom had the Fish Taco's. It was Valentine's Day so I can't scold them too much but food took well close to 30 minutes I don't mind if the food is worth it but when it arrived it was basically sub par though my mom said she really enjoyed hers. Also my burger was tad on the burnt side appears they are short staffed need better organization

Horrible service, it took 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks, 20 minutes to change the keg to have our second round delayed and 51min to get our appetizers. Our waitress said sorry they were slammed... On a Wednesday night at 9pm??

This is the WORST restaurant and service I have ever ever experienced!!!!!!!!! I don't believe that you guys are still in business. This will be all over the internet, forums, reviews, my 50K followers, our neighborhood facebook page. I wll be doing everything I can to tell everyone I know about this horrible experience. We went there yesterday and there were only a couple of other tables. We ordered the food, got the drinks, then the waiters disappeared. 30 minutes later I went to ask for the food and one of the waiters said that the food was ordered 7 minutes ago!!! I said it had been 28 minutes exactly, she said no it was 7 minutes as if I was lying!!! I told her that I am not a liar and showed her a call 28 minutes ago I placed at the time of food ordering. She said I have no choice but to either wait for the food or leave!!!! I asked for a manager, she said that she was the manager!!!!! Anyway, the kids were very hungery and we didn't want to go somewhere else so we waited or the food. Food arrived and it was absolutely terrible. None of us liked the food. Even the fries were very oily and gross. HORRIBLE PLACE .. HORRIBLE STAFF.. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT ... HORRIBLE FOOD.. HORRIBLE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was appalled at the service. Our server knocked over an entire glass of water one of the members of our group who also happened to be 5 months pregnant. What we got was 2 towels and a server that disappeared. They didn't bring more napkins that we had all used to mop up the mess and then when we were leaving as we had theater tickets the brought her a hair dryer. And didn't even discount the bill a penny. The server handed us a $5 off coupon on our next visit. Which will NOT be used.

I can't believe this place. I moved to this neighbourhood a couple of weeks ago and was excited to see this place had opened in my absence and thought I could make it my local. Took my friend there on the 2nd of January and we were subjected to such disrespect that we're still in disbelief and shall not be returning. I`m not one to leave bad reviews for any place, but here goes.

Before going, I called the bar to see if they had a corkage fee. I was told on the phone "yes, it's $15". Upon arrival, my friend, who was sitting at the bar, took the bottle out of her bag and also said that bottles of wine were $5 off. So I showed the bottle we brought from home to Lex, the bartender, and I asked him what their house red was. He replied that "it is Jackson Triggs as well". I decided to stick with the bottle from home while my friend drank single malts all night.

At the end of the night, when we got our bill, I noticed that the bottle was charged as $20, instead of the $15 so I asked about it. The blonde haired (really light blonde, probably dyed) waitress was so snide and accused us of taking the bottle of wine from their bar! That's where the disbelief started. When I told her that Lex was completely aware we brought the bottle from home and also that I called beforehand to see if they did corkage she accused me of lying and then said that there was no way for them to charge us corkage on the system. She asked if I knew who I had spoken to on the phone and I said "no, but why would I bring a bottle from home if you didn't provide corkage?" This is when she accused us of taking (their cheapest bottle of wine, I might add) from behind their bar again.

Lex was very apologetic, but she soured me on this place. She is supposed to be in the service industry and she talked down to us with no respect or courtesy. Why would I steal a cheap bottle of wine from the bar when my friend was drinking premium scotch all night? Needless to say I'll never visit Brown's again; it's not about the $5, it's the principle of the whole ordeal. They could have handled that better, but that woman was just incredibly rude. We left a 5% tip (also, not like us) and vowed to never go back.

Bowns Socialhouse is a nice place. The decor is interesting, and much of the seating appears to be designed around communal high top tables, where you may have an opportunity to sit with others that you may not know. There are also tables and booths with a smaller number of seats,, in case you are not into sharing your table with others. However, this evening's experience fell a bit short of my expectations in a couple of areas.

SWMBO had the Shrimp & Chicken Pad Thai. It was prepared well, but for $16.95 it seemed a bit overpriced for the portion size and the 3 shrimp that were included. I ordered their Ultimate Chicken Club (onion ring, smoked bacon, havarti, BBQ sauce). First of all, if you call something "ultimate", it should be something special. It was good, but not great. Secondly, don't forget to include the onion ring. I brought this to the server's attention, and a few minutes later they brought out a single onion ring on a plate, with barely an apology. For the sake of goodwill, since it was their error, maybe they could have brought out two onion rings? Again, at $16.95, it was a bit overpriced for a chicken sandwich.

Brown's Social is a very cool restaurant. The decor is hip and modern and the couple of times I've been there for lunch it's always bustling. The food is really good (although I've had the same dish twice) and the service is great. Having my baby with me, they were accommodating with a good table during the busy lunch hour. Great lunch spot.

I've been twice for lunch, and recommended to friends / family and everyone has loved it. Food is fantastic, we have had: Pizza, Chicken Burger, Fish Tacos, Halibut healthy Bowl, blackened chicken ceaser, thai soup, and Dragon Bowl and they were all top notch. Waitresses are attentive and food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. Decor - i find really cool/fun. Cant wait to go back and try more of the (diverse and creative) menu items.

Trying out Browns Socialhouse Oakville. My wife and I tried out the new Browns Socialhouse in Oakville this evening for dinner. The place looks great, with a nice modern design. Getting started was a bit slow because there were only three waitstaff working at 6PM. I ordered a Keith's draft, but when it came it was flat and watery. I asked the waiter to be certain that he gave me a Keith's, and when he checked with the bar he found out that the bargirl had poured it from the end of the keg. So the waiter got me a house beer instead, which was better, but nothing great.

My wife ordered fish and chips and I ordered a beef dip. The meals came in a reasonable time. My wife liked her halibut and fries, but as I bit into my beef dip I kept running into fairly tough tendons. There was also supposed to be some horseradish mayo, but there was none on the plate and the beef dip didn't taste like it had any. I asked the waiter and he said it was supposed to be on the bread. I looked, but I didn't see anything, so the waiter brought me a small amount in a little metal sauce dish.

When I started the second half of the sandwich I noticed that the sliced roast beef was running out, and what was there was also full of tendons. I opened up the bread and saw that most of the bread was empty. There was also supposed to be grilled onions in the sandwich, but there were only a couple of tiny, smashed pieces stuck to one side of the bread. At that point I realized that the roast beef was not from a freshly cooked roast but was supplied from some supplier as very precisely sliced ultra-thin slices of pre-cooked roast beef.

So while I was disappointed with my meal, my wife was reasonably satisfied with her meal. Never-the-less, we have had much better experiences at a number of other restaurants within a few blocks of Browns Social that I see no reason for me to return to Browns Social.
