Review Cucci - Oakville

Magnum Lau
Presentation of the food was magnificent, food also tastes delicious. The calamari sauce could be used as a dipping sauce with bread. All the ribeyes were done perfectly. We ordered a ribeye to share for 2 children, they were kind enough to separate the portions before serving them. Server was great with children. We were sitting in a private dining area due to party size which we enjoyed. However once the restaurant was filling up, it was tough to find our server as he was taking care of too many tables.

Cucci is a beautiful decor Italian fine dining in Oakville. This is my first time trying in this restaurant. I am very impressed with the interior design of the restaurant, service is very good as well. There is valet parking if there is no more parking behind the building. We sat down quickly and they served bread immediately even before ordering. We order the scallop with bacon risotto for app, tenderloin steak and seafood pasta (special of the night) fit main, and finish up with chocolate pate for dessert. The jumbo scallop is fresh, and well seasoned. Tenderloin steak is tender and cooked perfectly to medium rare, i am very surprised with the quality of the steak at $55 price range. The seafood pasta has lots of seafood including octopus tentacle, white fish, jumbo tiger shrimps and jumbo scallop. It tastes amazing, but with the price $68, it is overpriced in my opinion for a pasta. Chocolate pate is a good dessert to share, it is not too sweet which i like. With the environment and quality of the food, i would definitely return to this place.

Very nice experience. Called to get a reservation for one person. They helped me to accommodate a seat at the bar. The scallops and the pork belly were extraordinary good, as well as the lamb racks.

What a fantastic experience for our first dinner in Cucci. We went with another couple and the service and food were fantastic! The parking is small though, there’s an option for $10 valet parking or you can find one in the neighbourhood streets and walk. What we ordered: Cucci Calamari - delicious grilled Duck confit arancini - delicious!! Well flavoured and a good amount of duck. Crisp coating and not oily. Hazelnut crusted Ontario Lamb rack - must try! So tender and flavourful. Venison Short Loin - the best venison I’ve had, I usually find it gamy in flavour in other places but they cook it well. Tiramisu - good! Chocolate pâté - good! Comes in bark pieces Overall, a wonderful service from our server who paid attention to details like filling our glasses of water, which is greatly appreciated! You can also rent out the space for events. They have dividers that can close off rooms and even offer use of a projector and screen. Looking forward to going back to try more of their dishes.

Just perfect! The ambiance, the food, and staff. Then Chicken Supreme is highly recommended! Also the spaghetti with shrimps and the lobster. Special shout out for our server Kyle!

I dont get why the reviews are so high. Went there with my boyfriend, both are super disspoited. The mushroom toast was tasty and really like it. Oysters were also recent. However, the gnocchi and hen-on-wood spaghtti was a just huge dissapointment and lack of any flavor. The platting looks good but there is no taste. The spagtti tastes like plain boil pasta. I almost wondering if chefs forgot to put salt or something. We did confirm with the waitress(who is really friendly and nice) that the pasta supposed to be light because they want to prioritize the main ingredients. Both me and my boyfriend have fairly low sodium diet, so there is no way we are heavy taste. Both agree its really lack of flavor. If lacking flavor for prioritize the main ingredients will work, then orchastra should just run by conductor with rest of the band setting in slient. And come on...its just truffle and shroom..

We have been to this restaurant about 30 times, since it is in walking distance. It never fails to impress. The food is top notch, the staff is wonderful, and it is our favourite place to eat in Oakville.

Hubby and I were on date night at Cucci, our first time - we had a great time! The service was excellent. Thank you Phil for moving us to a nicer table. Resto manager and staff were very good. I enjoyed our food which was delish . Of course, the live entertainment is always a plus. Chris Smith and Glen Smith always provide the perfect music for 'date night'. Although we are fans of their 'smooth jazz' repertoire, adding a little Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran was quite entertaining. Overall, an awesome place to spend an evening. I highly recommend.

To celebrate our anniversary we went for dinner at Cucci in Bronte but ended up having an experience. If you haven't eaten there you must. The staff are extraordinary, upbeat and knowledgeable. We started with the oysters they were so fresh it was like you were beside the Atlantic ocean. The ceaser salad not only delicious but a work of art. Our mains of strip loin and veal tenderloin were perfection in flavour and texture. And when we thought it couldn't get any better our creme brulee was heavenly. What a wonderful way to celebrate our 12th Anniversary. Jadzia and Dave Weir

We recently held a private celebratory lunch at Cucci and everything was absolutely wonderful! The food was delicious (as always) and the service was top notch. Jennifer (the event planner) was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process of organizing the event, and Marino (the manager), along with the rest of the staff, were happy to fulfill every request we had the day of. We couldn't have been more pleased. Thank you!

Fantastic everything. My wife has a list of allergies that we have to bring with us when we eat at restaurants. They handled everything wonderfully. We have had some of our best food experiences here.

Wonderful evening at Cucci. The ambiance was terrific with the live music and well appointed restaurant and bar. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious particularly the gnocchi and the chocolate avocado pudding sublime. We will be back.

Terrible will never go back there again. Asked to leave with my child for being to loud. He is a happy baby. They are a bunch of miserable people, if you want a terrible atmosphere with ok food eat there.
Delightful. We hosted a private dinner party for 16 for my Mum's 80th birthday. The service was attentive and prompt - they even went so far as to offer to go to a nearby establishment to get something more suitable for my four year old niece. The food was great - nicely plated, warm and moist meat - not dry. While their prices are on the high side, the food quality and service are in line with the prices.

Excellent Choice for Two. I wanted to share our lovely evening experience. It was our anniversary and I searched for a place close to home , upscale and with live music.
We were very happy with the choice we made when coming to Cucci. Everything was done to perfection - the lively ambiance, great food and wine, Tony the waiter and all who served us from the moment we stepped through the door to when we were slipped into our coats. The seafood pastas that we chose were very generous portions and the wine was so good that we had to get the supplier name which they shared with us without hesitation. We will certainly be back and we will bring friends. Thank you for making our anniversary a night to remember and the first of many visits to come.

Italian food at its best!. Wow! What a meal! Worth every penny. Look, this is a fine dining restaurant. It's not cheap, but it is so worth it! We shared a grilled calamari and the tiramisu for dessert. Both were a 9/10. I had the lobster tagliatelle for my main. Probably the best pasta I've ever had in my life. Huge potion, full of flavor. At $32 it better be the best! Also, there was a large amount of lobster in it as well. Service was exceptional. I would definitely go back. And I would highly recommend it for a special occasion.

I did not enjoy my food, especially for the price. I did love the appetizer of mushroom crustini and my husband couldn't say enough about the gnocchi, but the lobster spaghetti that I ordered was gross. I tried Cucci a second time hoping that I had just ordered the wrong dish, however the crab special that my girlfriend and I both ordered was in edible. The waiter to his credit noticed that we were both not enjoying our mains (we didn't have to say anything) came and took them away and said he would bring us something else which was very much appreciated, however he brought us.....lobster spaghetti!!
Sorry, I won't be going back!!

Amazing!!!. I cannot say enough good things about Cucci. People talk about changes at Cucci and all I see is things getting better! My husband and I visit here about once a month and we have never had a bad experience. We are always welcomed by the maitre d and the staff, and the owner has even bought us a few martinis after recognizing us! The food is amazing and I think the price is fair no cheap but fair. If you want cheap food and sub par service go somewhere else!

Too bad..... Generally I don't write bad reviews I just don't go back. I have been to Cucci numerous times and have been disappointed in the last couple of visits. I am not sure if it's due to the chef or perhaps a change in Management but it's just not the same.....food quality isn't as good and the prices haven't changed! Unless things change they are going to lose business..... I would have recommended it in the past but not now....

Not worth it.. Bad service, mediocre food and bad management. There are so many other options in Oakville. Save your money.

-----29 Jan, 2012-----

Downhill. Been there many times but obviously there is an issue. 1.5 hours we waited for our dinner and we had to leave without it. Owner Actually yelled at us for leaving. Stay away.

Love the piano and B&W movie. Wonderful atmosphere! Ordered the beet salad..delicious ,mussels in white wine were a little salty and not enough broth, but this was instantly corrected and so good on the second order. My husband is still talking about his bass. A special off menu..wonderful! The Caesar salad just ok, needed a crostini on top and a hint more garlic. The highlight of taste was an appetizer wild mushroom toasts? Amazing flavour! The ravioli lacked flavour. Cannoli was filling and scrumptious..enjoyed by our friends. We ordered 2 bottles of Trius VQA niagara wine ,had 4 cocktails..party of 4 cost $318 tax incl.worth every penny. Not stuffy relaxing, easy to talk, low light..we used the candle to read the menu..but this made it fun! Impressive..with an old Hollywood feel!

Used to be great .... Now, after a few different chefs (I believe), it just isn't the same somehow ... was there a couple of weeks ago, just wasn't keen on what I had (halibut) ... it actually looked like it had been thrown on the plate, way too much going on (take it easy chef, less is more!) ... my dinner companion was completely unimpressed and won't go back (also quite pricey ... which is okay, but the food HAS to be exceptional if you're charging TO prices! So, I wouldn't say don't go, maybe they'll read these reviews and "improve"?!

Great Night Out!!. Cucci was a great experience for my family. We felt the service was great as was the food and drinks. I had the mushroom toast which I would recommend and the roast chicken. They were both delicious and filling. I would go back again for another night out.

We went to Cucci on a warm summer Friday evening and sat outside on the patio. We were a party of 2 and had apps, main, and dessert and all were delicious. We each had a glass of wine and I would have liked to see a larger selection available by the glass. The service was attentive and helpful. The meal was pricy but the food and ambiance were worthwhile for an occasional treat.

Tried Cucci on the recommendation of friends - who actually said it was inconsistent so we wanted to try it ourselves. Service was good but the food was just adequate and overpriced. We love going out to restaurants - but the food quality/taste, etc. is the most important aspect and it just wasn't there..... Take a pass or go to the Carriage House in Burlington - excellent everytime!

Wouldn't recommend it..... The menu reads a lot better than it eats and it was expensive. We often frequent restaurants such as Oliver's, Jonathan's, Rogues, etc. in the area and felt the food quality just didn't cut it. Service was good - not great as the waiter seemed awkward and uncomfortable but we were very well attended to. Owner did stop by our table but came off as extremely arrogant. Don't think we would go back and certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Superb and Sublime. Not sure what buddcarpenter is going on about. I'm sure he and his party had an unfortunate experience, but my wife and I went there for dinner tonight, totally on a whim, and could not have been more pleasantly surprised.

Having had some amazing meals - Susur Lee at Susur (many times), Eric Ripert at Blue (Cayman Islands), Hélène Darroze in Paris - I have to say this was one of my top 10 meals of all time. The Caesar salad was pretty much perfect. The gnocchi was amongst the best I've had - feather light with a wonderful sauce and crispy pancetta. My wife's risotto with seared scallops and blue crab was spot on.

Easily 9.5 out of 10.

Absolute Garbage. First off, people go on and on about service. IMO I don't give a crap if the service is LOUSY as long as the food is good. I went to dinner here with my wife and some friends recently, and the food was god-awful. Sure the decor and atmosphere of the place is nice, but our food was borderline inedible...and $150 bucks for 2 people, I want my money back from these guys that call themselves an Authentic Italian Restaurant...BS. The pasta we had was all stuck together like it had been cooked 3 hours before, then thrown into a pan with some TASTELESS sauce to heat it up. COOK TO ORDER for god sakes!!! Is it too much to ask when your paying $25 a plate?? And you use Romaine lettuce for Caesar salad, not Green Leaf, because heavy dressing makes it wilt. What cooking school did these guys attend? The fish was obviously pre-frozen, which is fine and understandable, but it had that notorious medicine taste like buckleys mixture. Ok I'm done, never going back here.

Not Great. We went to Cucci on the suggestion of a friend - just 2 of us for dinner mid-week. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a good overall atmosphere. Service was slow and we seemed to be a bother to the server (although it wasn't busy at all). The food was okay - not great value for the $$$ and nothing certainly nothing to write home about. We didn't have a starter instead decided to have dessert and they were really disappointing. I guess it was worth a try - maybe go back and just have a drink at the bar to listen to the piano.....

Pleasant Surprize. Two things were noticable from the start. First - they gave the women at the table purse hangers before we sat down and second we were offer both flat and sparkling water.
Dinner was very good - the rack of lamb was wonderful and perfectly cooked. One person at our table had the pasta which wasnt cooked properly and when we mentioned this at the end of the meal, they gave us a gift card for a future visit. We will definately be back.
Knowledgeable staff, good wine selction.

Great service! Mushroom toast was excellent the beet salad was ok. Gnocci was very rich and tasty maybe a little too much potatoe. The beef wax very tasty, cooked perfectly. The molten lava chocolate was over ccoked so there was no lava only cake. We would come back again.
Mike
A wonderful experience from start to finish. Great food and service!
