Review Pier 7 Restaurant + Bar - North Vancouver

Nice and cozy on a December night when there was snow everywhere in sight. If you can then please get reservation in advance. We did a walk-in but thankfully we got a table. We were a group of 6 so we ordered a few items and overall everyone enjoyed their food. The staff were also polite and friendly. Definitely recommend it!

The food was delicious but we waited for it too long to have the meals after appetizers. The ambiance was not as I expected. You're lucky only if you have a table next to the window (when it's not freezing cold). Otherwise it doesn't have a nice environment inside. You can find the most recent menu among my photos.

This place had to wait over 30 minutes for each course meal. The steak was ordered medium but it was almost well done and the food was cold and the linguini was cold too. The server in charge brought only a fork and coffee for the last dessert and made us wait for over 30 minutes. I wanted to eat those cakes with coffee, but in the end, I didn't have time to eat, so I took the cakes and had to rush out. I tipped $30, but I never want to go there again. I went there because I wanted to see the view of the sea, but it was disappointing. I think it would be better to visit only those who can wait more than 3 hours during lunch time.

Definitely recommend this restaurant especially for the seafood, the ocean view and ambiance but not for service and quality of the food. Definitely NOT for Valentine's Day dinner and not gay friendly. There was an image of a naked woman above each of the urinals, not very classy or respectful but fit for a cheap bar. The wall paper was also peeling off above the urinal. A Covid sign would have more utility. This location is clean and OK for drinks. There are bars, dinning on both levels and the view of Vancouver was amazing. There were a few challenges during this visit and our dinner did not go as smoothly as we hoped although we spent about $130 and did not order the cheaper meals. Last night was packed so make reservations the night before. Wait time was about 45mins to get a table for two as we did not make reservations. The patio on the ground level was cold and people dined with their winter jackets on. This might be good for people who were concerned about air circulation during the pandemic but this is not for everyone. Open spaces in the clear plastic tarp allowed cold sea breeze to enter at 5 degrees Celsius. An ideal patio for Summer. The manager worked his magic and relocated us to the upper level patio where it was comfortable due to overhead heating lamps. My expectations were not met comparing my initial impression, the price on the menu to the service and quality I paid for. Not good value for money on this category. It felt like Bait and Switch. You might want to ask for indoor dinning table with soft seats not basic walmart patio chairs. The surf and turf was ok. Good portion size. The lime margarita on the rocks was good. The quality of the cooking and service could really use some training. Our waiter said if you want soft moist and pink say medium rear because the medium I received was on the medium well side - mostly gray, dry inside and very little pink in the middle for me. No gravy or reduction sauce. I guess the customer is not right at this location. It was replaced with a medium rear succullent steak but it came at the end of the meal when I was almost ready to pay the bill. Usually steak is eaten with something other than a watered down glass of coca cola that took 15mins. Alcohol refills are faster here. I had 4 leaves of arugula. Barely anything to eat it with because I ate the lobster, mashed potatoes and asparagus while waiting an Hour for the remake on the steak. Instead of staying 1 hour, my visit was extended over 2 hours. Lobster was bit on the tough side so I order extra butter. This was not the experience I hoped for. Maybe because of my race or gender or untrained staff when it comes to customer service. The kitchen staff must be able to work in a fast paced environment, think customer first and be more proactive. See pics. Thanks.

Great place and environment, can have good view on harbor. The salmon burger tasted amazing. Not satisfied with the medium steak and lobster, both were over cooked little bit. But still a nice place with great service to enjoy.

It's pricey, and one of the few that didn't have a long line up on a busy evening at the pier. Their specialty is probably the swarm of bugs that's always stationed at the entrance and another swarm at the top of the stairs inside. Other than that, the service was friendly and attentive. Seating was comfortable. They have a heated patio where you get a view of the ocean, but shielded from the waves by tall glass. The menu varies and seems reasonably thought out. The mains are pricey, but you get pretty decent portions with appis for a more affordable price and dishes are good for sharing this way too. For the location, experience, availability of seats, and price (if you go with appis, and maybe go light on the drinks), I feel like it should have high ratings than it currently has.

We came here for Dineout menu. All 3 courses were awesome. In fact, all 5 of us were praising the food quality from the appetizers to dessert. The servers were attentive. View of downtown Vancouver was enjoyable.

Food was very good and the upstairs patio was excellent. There seems to be an issue with staffing. We had servers change on us, a couple of instances where the wrong food was brought to us and ordering drinks took a very long time. I presume they are working on this and will have it resolved soon...hopefully.

Amazing place to go eat! We went once to check out the breakfast and we now go every Sunday! Haylee is the best server we have ever had, she is always smiling, extremely helpful and always listening. The manager Sean is always friendly, willing to change menu for hyper allergic people like me, very accommodating and makes us feel most welcome. The kitchen makes the alterations perfect and the breakfast tastes amazing! Worth every penny every time! The restaurant welcomes us and always remembers who we are, what we order and what we like. We recommend everyone to go!

So this is our second time first time was for dinner great review and was told by the manager Chris come back for brunch so we drove in from Surey yesterday and it was the worst service and food was luke warm . The hostess was the best but the server was terrible had to ask for clean glasses and table to be cleaned . Then we order coffee and tea took coffee at least 10 mins to get we're told there brewing a pot but the server one table over came out twice and poured coffee not once I did we get water refilled or coffee we had to go ask . The menu for brunch was not the best once food came was not hot and was like if you want to wait 10 mins we can make fresh no thanks . My friend was appalled as it was not busy and the lack of service when the server was hanging at the bar chatting with the hotness. The manager was there but not once came too see how things were . I just could have left with out paying but not something I would do . Also had to ask for salt and pepper then he wanted to put it on my brunch felt like I was going to steal them or they only had one set. Then napkin was not finished and he came to take the napkin I could not even look at him or make eye contact as he was clueless to our needs . No apology for any of this terrible behaviour deployed not even can we offer u dessert or a bit of a free meal for the not so hot food. I will not be returning and after reading other comments I can see why the manager needs to hire people that have experience with dining experience and more proffesional.

I've wanted to check this place out for a long time. Well, I wasn't all that impressed. Great location and view but the place itself needs some work. Service was not that great, and food wasn't good at all. We went around 9 and it was happy hour but we were told that the kitchen closes at 9:30. 1/2 hour happy hour? Lame. I ordered chicken wings that seemed like they were reheated under a broiler, parts were crispy and other parts were soggy chicken skin. Took forever for them to come to the table also. The decor is dated and needs a contemporary makeover. This place has tons of potential but it seems the management has kind of given up and just don't give a crap. I'll go back in the summer and hopefully I have a better experience and can change this review.

I recently had dinner here and the view is spectacular....a little sad we couldn't sit upstairs,(had made reservations and asked) I realize the place wasn't full and staffing etc. but when you have it available why not sit people there? I had brought people from out of town specifically for the view.....found the food very well prepared but, a little bland and our server needed repeated requests for napkins/drinks/pepper. Thank you.

Loved the fish tacos and calamari from the Happy Hour menu! Not to mention the sangria.....it was a perfect patio day and our server was lovely.

Was great views but service was poor had to keep looking for our server and food was mediocre the food was cold and server was annoyed... Been to other high end places with phenomenal views which came through with exceptional friendly service and amazing food.. So, if all you want is a great view then this is the spot but if you expect the whole package then no... Meh

One of the best experiences I've ever had. The food was good, not great, but seating so close to the water with a gorgeous view of downtown Vancouver had the wow factor. Our server Lindsay was amazing. She went out of her way to make our experience memorable. Thank you Lindsay and the staff!

Disappointing. Despite having the best location in North Vancouver, the food fell flat. The crab cakes had no flavour profile. The cheesecake was sickly sweet with a crust so hard and thick, I gave up trying to get the fork through it. Tbh my crab cakes and cheesecake are better. Should of just stayed home. Very unfortunate, as the place is just around the corner from me. I'll be making the trek over to coal harbour next time.

The view is spectacular, and service was excellent. We had a small issue with our first course, which the restaurant promptly comped without our asking, even though we had eaten most of it. We tried the Scallops & Prawns main instead, which was amazing! Huge, perfectly cooked scallops, excellent prawns & creamy risotto. A 12 out of 10! We will definitely be going back

Amazing menu, mediocre temperature and taste. Poor service but the manager went above and beyond to remedy this. My party of ten received free dessert, a discount, and a dish of olives as an appetizer. I will be back to test out at happy hour as the prices are good and the view is gorgeous.

The location is one of the best The restaurant nicely done and the waitress Jessie very nice The food was nothing even close to averageBut the view and a couple of beers can be fine there

Great food. Awesome view of the city even at night and those lamp posts out side the window on the pier gave me the perfect spot to propose. #shesaidyes

It was a wonderful experience!! We sat out on the Deck and the views were amazing. The food and service was excellent too! We hung out for 4 hours and it was fine. We stayed for coffee and dessert and took our time!! We highly recommend this place!!

This is the 3rd time I've been here and it's awful! The food is boring and bland and usually has to be sent back because it's undercooked. The service is also disgraceful - train your staff! I asked for the wine menu 3 times, she brought it to me and then left without taking my order and I had to ask another server to send her back so I could order it. Food took forever and then for my other two friends was boring and bland and for me I had to send my cold and undercooked steak back and this is the 2nd time in two visits I had to do it! Seriously you want to have drinks this place might be nice as the view from the patio is beautiful but the food is the worst!! Go ANYWHERE else!!

Great service from Lindsay our waitress. Good food. The weeds outside the glass enclosure ruined the view tho

My husband and I have a good happy hour. The food was really good the fish taco is a plus, but I came there to try the calamari but it's sold out. Hopefully next time. Definitely we are coming back.
