I stopped by the cafe for a quick breakfast before catching a flight and the food was really good!! The service was fast and everything tasted fresh! The portions were a little too big but that’s a me issue!! The server was super attentive and directed me to all the milk and condiment station! Their local hot sauce and fresh baked goods are to die for! They had plenty of local goods on sale on site as well. Definitely a good spot for some fresh eggy breakfast!

Great breakfast to be had at this busy spot. Friendly service ( no table service), and food was quickly prepared. Eggs Benny was delicious. We both really enjoyed the breakfast potatoes. If only we had room to try some of the baked goods. Next time! Update: According to my wife, the best Nanaimo bars she has had in BC. We also tried the 3 cheese quiche which was delicious. The crust is awesome. I had a meatloaf sandwich, which was good, if a bit bland for my taste... A little steak sauce did the trick. Great French fries, too.

We always love this place when in the Victoria area! The bakery is fresh and the pies are some of the best we have ever tasted! 😍

We stopped by for breakfast and it was delicious! Got the farmers breakfast and the eggs Benny. I thought both tasted wonderful, but would choose something else next time! Not only are staff super friendly but other guests are just as kind. There are roosters walking around the property which you can feed with their mixed feed for 25c.

Nice area to stop for lunch, with local wine tastings and different options for food. Recommend the wine flights to get a nice variety of flavours. Nice seating area outside with options in the sun or shade. Had to clear the table myself, as well as pick up the food when they called my name.

My husband and I visited Roost on the weekend for a late-morning treat. I will say we were a bit confused about where to line up/order etc. but figured it out eventually. We were very impressed at the variety of baked goods, so much so that we ordered extra's to take home. I also greatly appreciated the gluten free options - the lemon cookie was my favourite! When we ordered/paid the employee at the checkout literally could not have looked more unimpressed. I understand that working in retail is hard, and customers can be the worst, but a friendly greeting and positive tone go a LOOONNNNGGG way. There are a lot of other local cafe's that I have had much better experiences at so will likely go to those places before making another trip to Roost.

My sandwich was almost $20 and worth every penny. I had a turkey on sourdough. I ate half and was full. I got it with a delicious ceasar with fried capers. The bread was so fresh and yummy, it was loaded with perfectly cooked turkey and just the right amount of cranberry. I live in Vancouver and might seriously take a trip to the island just to go there again. The restaurant is self serve and casual, nothing fancy. The staff are friendly. I highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area.

I’m a regular at the Roost, have spent hundreds of dollars there. I can’t say enough about the food, especially the breakfast potatoes 👌🏽 but lately the service has been very unimpressive… people have been stressed, short, sometimes rude. Sometimes there aren’t enough staff and it takes a long time to get their attention. No one acknowledges that there has been a wait or confusion of orders.. it’s been a few years and I’ve seen people come and go, but I hope staff can treat customers with respect and kindness, especially those of us there so often.

I have been to this place many times before , because it is very close to where I lived . 2019 is the my third year on this island, and I always love to go to new places and try something new out. I really liked their bumbleberry pie and Bee sting , but the rest dishes I tried almost all on their food menu is not very good, except they can bake this delicious wood Fried pizzas! When they first opened last summer I remembered, one day I was there ordering food and I stayed inside the restaurant, there were so many flies flying around my dish and I just found it really annoying! Which one am i going to eat ? The fly or the dish ? Sorry ! I just lost over 9000 photos and I have not been there since last summer , might post more photos in the future. I tried their cupcakes today , don’t really like it, the whipped cream was ok, but the egg white cake tasted like soap. not the kind of cupcakes I had in Abbotsford!

A Cozy and clean place to eat breakfast with a good country vibe. Staffs are very nice and friendly. I saw lots of reviews on hating the self-serving and ordering at the counter system. Honestly all you gotta do is just walk up to the counter and order or ask what you need. Dont see why this is such a big deal. They still serve your food out to the table with big smiles. I had the rooster omelette and I really loved the fried whole little potatoes and the grilled cherry tomatoes in the omelette. Very tasty. They also have a various bakeries that I want to try in the future visit. It seems like they get quite busy at certain times so if you want a chill and calm dining in, go there early enough so you dont deal with a long wait.

Great selection of locally produced and sourced products including sandwiches, baked goods, frozen entrees, and handicrafts/gifts. My Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich with sauerkraut on Russian Rye ($16.75) was OK - still searching for Back East version. The Broccoli Cheese soup was OK, serving size is not quite a cup. For dessert I ordered the Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Centre ($6.35) to-go. When I ate it later --- no raspberry centre! I must have got a dud. The cake is very rich and I was looking forward to the raspberry tart, tangy sweetness. Alas, it was just a piece of cake. Due to COVID, food is served in compostable containers which took away from the experience. Also, no table service is provided: you order your items and then they call your name. This goes for beverage orders, as well. It's a nice space worth browsing including wine they produce onsite. Prices are reasonable. The customer service is friendly, fast, and efficient. The Roost was busy, lots of locals from the North Saanich: there was quite the line on a cold afternoon in Victoria. Enter from the extreme right in the exterior photos and exit from the main entrance under the Roost sign. Fresh baked bread is $6/loaf. I got a day-old loaf of Russia Rye for $3. I'm happy.

The food was good and the host was very kind and pleasant. I’m not a wine expert but they all paired well with the food. If you’re driving down to Victoria from the ferry terminal, I think it’s worth checking out. They also have chickens and goats!
