First time for breakfast. It was excellent! Staff were very nice and customer's friendly it felt relaxed and just like home. But the desserts and pastry was so good looking and I hoped I could try each and every one.
I liked the wedge of pineapple included in breakfast . I recommend this as a must stop .
This place is always more then excellent. Usually always busy which is great for business. The people that serve you are awesome and never ever seem overwhelmed and are always friendly.
The Food::: always top notch never had a. As meal there yet. Awesome place!!!
My fiance and I spent a week on Cape Breton sampling oatcakes at all the various bakeries on the island, these were our favorite, and with so many great bakeries on Cape Breton thats an honorable distinction! Besides the oatcakes, everything else was yummy too, loved their breakfast sandwiches...overall really great little bakery and breakfast/lunch place on Cape Breton Island.
Our first visit was awesome! We stopped it at lunch time, very busy place! We were immediately impressed by the homemade baked goods and fresh items on the menu. The young lady at the cash took our order and we found a seat. I had quiche and cheddar broccoli soup, my husband had the soup and a margaree muffuletta. Both delicious on homemade bread. For dessert we had a rhubarb cream square and coconut cream cheesecake. Both fresh and delicious, it was my husbands birthday so I asked for a candle, they went above and beyond even as busy as they were, the staff delivered our dessert and sang to him. A lovely place with hard working folks and delicious fresh food. What more could you ask for!
My Mom and I had a late lunch there last week. We both had the chicken breast sandwich with tarragon mayo. It was fabulous! Loaded with chicken and lots of great fresh toppings. I had the seafood chowder as well. It was full of scallops and lobster. The best I've had in Cape Breton. Mom had a greens salad which was very good. Fresh quality food, large portions at great prices. The maple shortbread and almond cookies are to die for. Best lattes around!!!
This spot never disappoints! Everything was great as usual - the fresh baked porridge bread made an awesome sandwich even better andthe raspberry cheesecake was melt in the mouth delicious.
Lovely place to go for lunch or a drink and treat. Food today was amazing as always and staff always friendly.
The Dancing Goat has it all figured out. Great food. Lots of healthy and well, not so healthy options but all delicious. The only criticism one could make is sometimes it is so very busy you don't have time to stay but that just speaks to what a great place it is! Highly recommended. I drove all the way from Sydney to Margaree for lunch because I wanted the best egg salad sandwich in the world!
Awesome food, awesome service, best coffee ...always a great place to meet to catch up with besties 😃
Excellent food, fantastic service. Highly recommend. We were in Margaree for two days and we ate breakfast there twice, got lunch to go for the trails and even brought some baked goods home.
Excellent food, the service was excellent! I must say it was one of the nicest sandwiches we ever had! There was lots of chicken on them & we also had side salad which were delicious! It was my first time there & I'll defenitely be going back! My daughter has been there numerous times & loves it! Thank you for a lovely lunch!
Best breakfast sandwich and coffee we had on our entire trip Would highly recommend!
Had a sandwich at lunch. Outstanding. Service prompt and friendly in spite of cafe being extremely busy. Great stop on way to Inverness Beach!
The best sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches on the island!
Friends of mine and I went yesterday and we loved it. My first time there and definitely go back. Desserts are awesome and huge!!!! My sandwich and soup were delicious as well.
We all bought different desserts and shared them amongst each other.
Went there with the whole family and everyone was impressed with the selection and freshness of the soup and sandwiches. I had a mini coconut cream pie with my coffee and it was the best. Definitely going back.
Super busy on summer weekend. The latte is really good, as are the sandwiches and soups (I had the roast beef sandwich & Brocoli, cheddar and bacon soup).
Wonderful spot!. Delicious breakfast and lunch fare. Always busy, but rightly so. Could use a little more room (seems like they're working on it), as well as slightly speedier service, but otherwise a great place.
Definitely visit the Goat if yer drivin' er past, bye! Perfect for a nice Cape Breton chat... "it's good, it's good, it's good".
Lovely find. The goat as we call it....is always busy...lots of staff....clean....incredible baked goods....nice Lil gem in margaree
Great Food and Great Coffee. Have been going to The Dancing Goat since it opened. The owner has taken the high end coffee culture of the U.S. and major city centres in Canada and brought it to the Cabot Trail. In addition to the cappuccino, espresso, and fair trade coffee served here there are also delicious sandwiches that have ingredients of higher end restaurants served on delicious Cape Breton style breads and biscuits. This is the best combination of nouveau cuisine with traditional down home cooking. The soups are also fantastic. Two suggestions for the owners. First, have a coffee only line, it will speed up service for the coffee drinkers. Second, there has only been one new sandwich added to the menu in two years. Other than that, I am definitely a regular and always will be. Great job!!
Unexpected tastiness in a seemingly out of the way location on the roadside. Dancing Goat offers up fresh baked breads and delicious pastry and treats. An assortment of light breakfast and lunch sandwiches made with their own fresh ingredients. Great coffee, and latte's as well as an assortment of teas. Charming interior with a solarium. Very busy place, with many people dropping in for the fresh bakery goods. Welcome rest spot on our journey
