Review George's China Kitchen - North Bay

Ordered dinner for 3 recently and the dishes they prepared were delicious. Served nice and piping hot, with servings generous enough for 3 adults to have their fill and some leftovers. Definitely a good place to get your takeout Chinese.

Husband had the Cantonese chow mein. I had combo c My egg roll was only filled with Bean sprouts, the BBQ pork was cooked in too cool oil so all it did was soak in the grease and was cooked too long the pork was dried out almost jerky style, rice was ok. Cantonese chow mein lacked flavour, even with adding soya sauce it lacked flavour and was bland. I thought it would be a good place to try seeing decent reviews.... Boy was I wrong .. Never again

We order from George’s at least once per month. George's is the best Chinese take-away I have ever been to. Their reputation is based on always using the finest ingredients...consistently serving up melt-in-the-mouth meat dishes, the juiciest shrimp, tastiest-ever spare ribs.

I was looking forward to trying the food at George's China Kitchen but unfortunately, I never got to. I called the restaurant to place a pick up order. When the staff member answered the phone, they only said "hi", leaving me to question if I was calling George's China Kitchen or a personal phone number. Once I clarified with the employee that I was calling the correct place, I asked if I could place a pick up order. I called at 6 pm but was told that my food would not be ready until between 7-7:30 pm. When I clarified that it was going to take an hour to an hour and a half to prepare my food, the staff member told me yes, but she would call me if it was ready before. I think it's unreasonable to expect me to wait up to an hour and a half by my phone waiting for a call to go pick up my food. Disappointing outcome to trying to order a meal from George's China Kitchen. I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant on to friends and family.

I'm not sure how long this place has been around.....but I've lived here pretty much all my life ..(I'm 50) and I don't remember it NOT being there..(early onset alzeimers...just kidding)...if its been a while since you've eaten here....try it again!!

Not happy with. #2 meal...the sweet and sour pork was overcookef. Tooo. much batter. And very greasy...like when u deep fry pork fat...chicken balls too much batter...not happy with meal

Got the ckn fried rice, Gen Tao ckn, spring rolls and mixed veggies. Absolutely amazing! Taste like it came from down south. Chinese food that actually taste good. Wouldn't order anywhere else.

I've been eating here for years and not a single problem. The worst thing anyone can say is they're TOO good and popular and hard to get ahold of sometimes. Try the Cantonese Chow Mein, seriously, amazing dish.

Iv been ordering from Georges for over 5 years and never had a disappointment food is always here within half an hr always hot and ready to eat.<br/>Great portion sizes delicious food best Chinese in town keep up the great work Georges!

Think I'm done..... Hi George's China Kitchen,<br/><br/>This should not be personal, but after several years of faithful dining via your establishment it may as well be. Your business has a good track record for good food and timely delivery, but what tips the scale is the ridiculous practice of not taking the calls when willing customers are trying to give you their business. My wife and I tried to get through this evening for 2hrs solid with a barrage of calls to no avail. No service, just a busy signal which is essentially a refusal of service from a business that doesn't know or care to function as one. This time it's the high road and we're taking it right out of here. It's been a frustrating ride, check please. Goodbye and good riddance.

Most likely the best Chinese food in North Bay but poor business model on same token. The food is always well received but they need to stop taking the phone off the hook. We've been loyal and patient customers over the years in order to receive the Chinese food we prefer to the others available. These guys are easily losing 100k a year with this idea. If you can't stand the heat....

And you wonder why the phones are busy...?. You have to understand that the phones are busy.. Well because they have orders that fill up the whole space. They are a busy restaurant therefore you can expect a longer wait or their employees to focus on the current orders to MAKE MORE ROOM for future orders. <br/>Remember that food actually takes time to make.. It isn't fast food. <br/>And some advice for people who wish to order for that Friday afternoon. Call early and place your order for a future time?

Poor phone service. You can never count on ordering anything on a busy Friday afternoon, as these people act as if they don't need the business. The phone is busy for extended periods of time, then when you finally get through, you get hung up on. I've been hung up on, many occasions.<br/>That's just fine, as I can certainly order Chinese food from the many other establishments in North Bay. Their loss.

Best Chinese food in North Bay. The only problem is there is only take out and not a sit in restaurant. The take out containers are standard size and always very full. Great food and arrives piping hot.

Customer Service????. Phones off hook when they get busy. Tried many times - no go! Went there and told they just were too busy. I am now part of the solution. They lost a 18 year customer tonight. Well done (NOT!!!)_

DISGUSTING!. First and last time at George's - we heard nothing but good reviews and really wanted to try it but after tonight's disaster, never again. We paid 60.00 for garbage, not a single dish was even OK. <br/><br/>1. Sweet and Sour Chicken - sauce tasted like watered down ketchup ( NO EXAGGERATION)<br/>2. Cantonese Chow Mien - all the noodles stuck together and congealed at the bottom of container and meat and veg thrown on top - NO FLAVOR at all and a clear congealed sauce that tasted like it had been sitting for a week congealing like old gravy. <br/>3. Breaded shrimp - came with no sauce. Hard as hockey pucks. We had to crack them open like a fortune cookie to get to the tiny overcooked hard as a rock shrimp - ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING<br/>4. Spring rolls - a soggy mush, no flavor, just a greasy roll filled with who knows what. Spring rolls are supposed to be a little crispy. Not these pitiful things. <br/>5. Mushroom rice - dry and tasteless. Period. Not fried rice at all, it was plain white rice with a few shriveled up mushrooms in it. No seasoning, no taste. <br/>6. Beef and Broccoli - again the congealed clear sauce, Broccoli way over cooked. Very low grade beef, if that was even beef not sure. <br/>I have never gotten up from a meal to call a restaurant to complain before. <br/>Tonight I did, couldn't hold back. I was told I just wasn't "used to their food and way of cooking" - they were right and I don't ever want to be used to it. <br/>WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN> Don't waste your money there are plenty of great Chinese Food Options in Cambridge. <br/>By the way... not a single Chinese person was working here when we picked up the food. That will teach us.

Great Food. This is my choice when I want Chinese food. The food is always hot and fresh. Delivery times are good also, always deliver ahead of the time they tell you when you order.

Not Interested!?!?!. For 2 weeks now I have been trying to call their phone number and it's always busy. When I actually drove there the guy told me they were not taking orders. I can only conclude that they are not interesting in my business so I guess I will bring it elsewhere and never comeback.<br/><br/>Paul

The food was not good everything was soggy and had really no flavour. Will not be going back again. Very expensive for what you get.

Yuck.. Expensive prices, tiny portions, and not very good at all. If this is what another review says is the best Chinese food in North Bay, then North Bay's Chinese food choices are looking pretty bleak. I think the Chinese food in the mall is better than this place, which is saying a lot!! :(

This is the best Chinese takeout in North Bay, by far. Anytime I am thinking Chinese I go straight to George's. There is never another option.
