Review East Side Mario's - North Bay

The staff was so nice and amazing and it was really cool to see how well they work together as a team! I had the lasagna which was very delicious and filling! Nice and cheesy! Even though I was way too full my went for the Brownie and ice cream for dessert because my buddy was having one and I couldn't resist! Also very good! July 19th, 2022 Had the chicken Milano and it was delicious! See pic.

I write this review while inside the restaurant. I want to pay the bill and leave, but I haven't seen my server in ages. We were seated immediately upon arrival, which was expected for 4pm on a Tuesday. Shannon came to take our drink order and it was clear that she was annoyed to have customers. I requested a specific beer. She said they didn't have it. I asked for another beer by name. Also didn't have it. At this point it would have been helpful if she just listed off the beers they DO have instead of making me play a guessing game. Drinks took about 15 minutes to arrive and we ordered our food at that time. The Caesar salad was partially frozen and contained exactly two croutons. I typically get more than one bowl of salad but I didn't even finish my first. The pasta sauce was watery. I found myself standing at the bar to retrieve a glass of water that she forgot to bring. Again, she seemed annoyed to have her social time interrupted with these tedious requests from needy customers. Shannon offered to get us more bread, and I requested some more butter. It never arrived. We want to leave, but are being held hostage by the disappearing server who did not bring the bill with the desserts. A manager came to clear the table because nothing had been taken away during the entire visit. A garbage heap of straw wrappers, bread bags, beer bottles, and napkins sat untouched at the edge of the table for the entire meal.

Just left from dining in. The food was fine, but the service was notably poor. There were gaps of 30 minutes between seeing a server, and when we did, she was pretty curt. We legitimately thought she had left for the night because of how little we saw her. I didn't receive my soup, my husband didn't receive his sauce, and we only got 1 extra loaf of the endless bread. Our temporary server left before we could mention this to him too. It sucks, and we probably won't be back for a bit It is what it is, maybe it was just a bad night! I would say give it a shot. Definitely not pricey

Just back from eating here....4 adults and 2 children that didn't eat as we had just come from the Northern Tykes indoor playground which BTW was excellent. I personally have never eaten East Side Mario's before but I assumed it would be like a Red Lobster or any of the other medium-quality chains in the area. My first impression was unfortunately bad. Drab, barren and colourless inside and the 'decor' was reminiscent of a school cafeteria. As well as very cold ( the kids both wore their outdoor jackets the whole time). The waitress was friendly when she sat us but from then on we had to ask twice for everything. One bun was provided and it took us 2 requests and 15 minutes to get another one....keep in mind we are 6 people even if the kids didn't eat, they still munched on a bun bit Another 20 minutes and apparently the 'chef' had to prepare another one which entailed another 20 minute wait and 2 more requests. It arrived 15 minutes after 1 side had been delivered. The salads ( which 2 of us ordered ) were lacking both ingredients and flavour and there was next to no dressing on the Caesar salad. The Canadian pizza was so bland that I would have much preferred if the chef had cooked a $4.00 Rising Crust one from No Frills. It would undoubtedly have been both faster and tastier. Keep in mind that we went at 3:00 in the afternoon and the restaurant was less than 1/2 full. All in all it was a TERRIBLE experience and I will NOT be going back there. If this is how the franchise presents itself, I will also not be going to one of their restaurants anywhere where we travel as well. NOT RECOMMENDED.

We had Jess as our waitress tonight and she was awesome. She was very attentive even tho she was a very busy lady. We had 2 takeouts and asked if she could cut up the one meal as our friend broke his collar bone and she personally did this for us with no questions asked. She is a dream waitress.

This is one of the only east side Mario's that is continuously consistent. Friendly staff, consistent food. Great atmosphere, this is a local favourite and a local watering hole. Whenever I want east sides I will come to this location, no other east sides I've been to across Ontario even comes close.

Big glass of wine. Great bowl of soup. Garlic bread...all you can eat. Then the main...and the box to take home what you can't finish. Great staff. Great food. Enjoy

Easy access, large parking, good food and less expensive than I expected. Waiters-ress were super nice and friendly. They did effort to speak french, even if it's not a problem for us to be served in english but we appreciated the effort. I recommand this place.
