Review Farina Ristorante - North Bay

I tried this place because it is located in my hotel. I had a ticket be for a free breakfast which was ok. Pancakes were very dense and hard to eat. The sausages casing were very tough as well. For dinner I had the anichini and Osso buco. The rice balls weren't bad, the breading is very thick and crunchy. Inside could use something else like peas added. Kinda just blah but good tomato sauce. Osso Buco had good flavour, not a whole lot of meat for what I paid. I don't care for polenta which is what it is supposed to c ok me with so I got rissoto. Very chewy and gummy/starchy. I don't think I will be back during this trip.

They served the best cappelletti dish I have ever tasted! A unique and delicious Caesar salad, amazing lasagna, soft lighting, beautiful decor, the food was fantastic, they even made a custom dish as a special request. We had a great dinner and it was not overly expensive. This will be a regular stop for our family.

Nice decor, perhaps a bit dated. Service was slow to me but that may be their part of the dining experience. Spaghetti and meatballs was average. The meatballs were nice and moist. Mushroom ravioli was very tasty but the pasta was far too chewy. Nothing special but I will return to try other dishes. On-line reservations was quick and easy. I did put in the 'comments' section that it was our anniversary dinner but that was not acknowledged.

Great little place, it was slow but staff was super nice and food was great! My husband had the chicken parm and I had the spicy shrimp pasta. Was no disappointed! I want to come back for more!

Great atmosphere and awesome service. We were looked after through our whole dinner and the server was fantastic. Definitely a good place to go for a date or with family and friends!

Perhaps Monday lunch is not a good time to go to this restaurant but I did have a reservation which mentioned that it was to celebrate my Mother's 87th birthday. It was a very limited lunch menu and some items were not available like the seasonal fruit. There was no mention from the server regarding the birthday. No garlic bread or side salad to go with the pasta we had. The food was just okay. Not worthy of a celebration lunch. To top it off both debit machines were not working properly so we had to pay cash.

Best authentic Italian food I’ve had. The mushroom ravioli was amazing. We stop there every time we are in North Bay. Wish I lived closer, I’d go there regularly ☺️

Ate at Farina's for our 44th wedding anniversary and we cannot believe that we have never eaten here before. Outstanding. Great homemade tasting tomato sauce on the pasta. My only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that my spaghetti was more spaghettini in size. The dessert canolli are exquisite. We have eaten Italian all over North America and the food here is as authentically prepared as anywhere. I seriously doubt that this is a warm-up and serve establishment as some reviewers have stated. Now to the service. Up to European standards, where in some countries, you do not wait on tables without a couple of years of formal training. Our server was friendly, prompt and polite. And not intrusive as many are these days. And, refreshingly, not one single, "no problem", from her. We will definitely make this a regular dining out destination and tell our out of town friends to stop in when they are passing through. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the entire experience. Bravo!

We split the grilled chicken with bow tie pasta. It was very good but the chicken was a tad dry. Overall, the service was excellent!

We attended for Valentine’s Day dinner. 5 course meal for 2 for $65. Food was phenomenal and it just kept coming. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning soon.

My spaghetti and meatballs were good and filling but the dish with the Rapini was too much Rapini. Needed more seasoning also. Lasagna could have used some garlic bread with cheese or something.

It's been far too long!! Farina is the best place for pasta hands down in North Bay - if you haven't been, you really ought to.
