Review Average Joe's - North Bay

Perfect spot for brunch, with amazing mimosas and so many delicious menu options. The staff is so friendly and professional (and they were able to handle our rowdy party of 8 with no problem). The view over the water is breath taking, even on rainy/misty days, and the restaurant is so clean and cozy inside! Portions are just right, filling, but not too much, and the fruit they brought to the table was such a wonderful extra touch!

North Bay's best patio view! Enjoy an elegant meal with stunning views of Trout Lake. Time your evening for live music for the best experience. Parking can be limited when busy, carpooling will help with that. If you have a boat, consider their dock parking option. They also deliver by jet ski! Prices are out of reach and general consensus is they are priced too high for the flavour of the food.

I had an amazing time here Sunday on the patio! I noticed that all the front of house staff work together to make the guest experience great. My server was amazing and the hosts were also so welcoming. I had the Joe’s Cobb and my boyfriend had two very good portions of haddock which were amazing, plus 1/2 priced caesars on sundays! Very much recommend! Great atmosphere too!

Second time trying to get in here. Last time we were turned away for being one day away from a vaccination period. This time, Website shows breakfast, no breakfast during the week. Young male server was rude, short & dismissive. Zero concept of customer service. Notice of lack of breakfast is poorly laid out. Another table left along with us, looking for breakfast. We all went to Fifty's Diner, it was amazing! Won't try to come here again.

North Bay's hidden gem. Had a family birthday celebration for the oldest at 98. The staff were great in the planning and the luncheon menu had plenty of selections. Everyone was very pleased with their meal.

Not your average food ..the chefs do an amazing job creating tasty dishes. Never disappointing. Sitting overlooking water is also a preferred way to dine for us!

Hit and miss with the service and food. On one of my visits, I ordered a meal and everyone in my party got served but they forgot to make mine. Everyone had finished their plates before I got my meal. Otherwise, nice view of Trout Lake.

Unreal food and view over looking Trout Lake in North Bay. Do yourself a favor and get the cauliflower bites as a starter, you will not regret it. The staff was super friendly and one person managed to look after a party of 18, incredible.

This restaurant is on the water of Trout Lake.  Beautiful views of the lake all year round.  My favourite item on the menu is the mussels in a cream sauce.  This is a place you could go on a date or bring your family members to.

Fantastic food, service and view! A total gem, with great local craft beer on tap too. Generous portions and a wide selection. Thanks for a great time!

Go for the pickerel!. This restaurant has a beautiful asset in that you can look out over Trout Lake...and it is one of my favourite places to eat out in North Bay. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent...although I must admit I always order the same thing! The pickerel is fantastic and you get a huge portion. Love that they put LOTS of veggies on your plate :) This restaurant is ABOVE Average. If you went a few years ago (I notice some of the reviews are old) and were disappointed I would urge you to give it another try!

I was visiting family in North Bay and was looking for a place to eat for a family dinner and decided to go to Average Joe's; as the name suggests, it was average as best. The staff were great, the atmosphere was good, nice view of Trout Lake, however I wasn't that impressed with the food. I had the seafood pasta. I would try it again for a lunch or some beers on the patio, but not my first choice for a nice meal out.

It is very pricy but the food is in between good and aversge. It all depends on what you order. If you order med rare you get med so be careful. Pasta is pasta, you pay too much for something that doesn't cost a lot to make. Seafood is good and tasty. One thing that I don't really like is that they serve the broccoli in a huge hunk. You get 1/4 of the head on your plate and you have to cut it yourself but the other vegetables are cut very thin and tiny. But it is a nice place to go to in the summer time on the patio and the staff seem happier too.

Wasn't impressed with not so average joes, I went there with my family. We were sat in a corner booth, after 30 minutes of no service Not even being asked for a drink I had to go track someone down. After having reservations for 6 we didn't have out food til 730 and for the 176.00 I spent the steak was bland and not much flavor, but the prime rib was ok. At the end of the day being forgot about for 30 minutes left me with a sour taste in my mouth,

Average? More like, LESS than average. The service was horrible and when we had to go and initiate paying, we walked in on the server and OWNER talking about us. Very classy, AJ. We'll be letting everyone know about the poor service. Our waitress was MIA for a good 30 minutes and we were snubbed because we didn't all have meals. Not recommended.

The food was nothing special for what you're paying, BUT they make up for it through theit atmosphere and good customer service. I'd go back.

Excellent! I spend a lot of time on the road and like to try small restaurants. This is a hidden gem! Great menu and portion size!
