we went for vacation to spend niagara fallsas family, three adults and one kid. we were looking out for indian style restaurant in niagara falls and finally we found this restaurant in victoria avenue.
We went into restaurant by 2 pm, so it wasnt crowded. We got settled in our table and they provided high chair for the kid.The staff was kind and got our orders. We have ordered tomato soup, veg tikki, roti, chicken biriyani and butter chicken curry.
First they served hot tomato soup an chicken starter. Soup was hot and delicious. Chicken starter was equally good. veg tikki was decent. chicken biriyani wasnt hyderabadi dum biriyani, but its of different dum biriyani. Biriyani taste was good. Then we ended our lunch with was roti and butter chicken curry. roti was soft , chicken curry was delicious. we had good time in this restaurant.
While the kid was eating it food was sprinkled the food around the high chair, But the staff was kind and clean the food was put down by the kid

Overall we had fine dining experience in this place.
4 of us visited Guru for dinner this Tuesday. The place was relatively free at the time we entered. The staff were friendly and helped settle us down.We had a toddler and a senior person on wheelchair. The staff made sure we had all help to make us all comfortable.
We ordered a range of vegetarian dishes-biriyani,Indian breads, paneer curry,Dhal, kofta, paneer and aloo starters,Rabdi ice-cream.The service was a bit on the slower side. But I think that's is due to the fact that most items were prepared fresh since we were early. All the dishes tasted great.Especially the kofta curry and Aloo and Paneer starter. The rabdi falooda wasn't as expected and the quantity seemed less for the price tag.
The ambiance was good and it was nice to have a quiet environment with less crowd. The waiters were attentive and helpful. Overall a nice experience.
I visited there last week and loved the food! Every dish is to crave for! My favorites DAL Makhani & Paneer Butter Masala with Garlic Naan :) Definitely coming back again! The service was exceptional and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful!! Don't miss it guys!
Guru is one of the best indian cuisine restaurant in Niagara falls. I was here with my friends and we ordered bhel, chat papdi , paneer kurchan, lamb biryani, dal makhani, butter chicken and mango shake which we enjoyed a lot and were amazed to see that such indian flavors are available in Canada too , so if you are at Niagara then guru is the must place restaurant to visit
Great Indian Food!. My family and I have had dinner at this restaurant a number of times, the food is always fantastic! The lamb Vindaloo is my personal favorite, and the Dal Bukhara is an excellent vegetarian dish. The service has always been good and the prices are pretty comparable to most decent Indian restaurants I have been too. They have a full menu with prices on their website. I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Naan was pre made was not fresley made.and staff is not friendly.
Best Indian in the Niagara Region. Great food. Owner is nice. I'm local, and visit often. They are located in a very high tourist traffic area, but always produce great food.
Great food but poor service. The food was great, however, the service by the waiting staff was rather poor. We were a group of 12 people and were made to wait almost an hour eventhough we had made a reservation 2 days in advance. That is completely unacceptable! If they place a bit more attention to customer service, it will really help them out a lot in the long run
Authentic Indian Food. We went for dinner there a couple of weeks ago. The food was delicious and we fell in love with the place. We have been going back on a regular basis. Definitely try the tandoori chicken sizzler for appetizer, really a great start to the dinner. Very enjoyable and relaxing.
Pros:
1. Great authentic Indian taste
2. Decent pricing
3. Great ambiance, very relaxing
4. Good variety of starters and main course.
Cons:
The service always seems to start off on a uncertain note. Keep an eye on the check, I have found minor errors twice now.
Best in Niagara Falls. A friend and I visited Guru for lunch one Saturday. It wasn't busy at all so it was like we had a private dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious, by far the best Aloo Gobi I have had since I was in Malaysia! We will definitely be going back!
Good find. Fellow tourists, please ignore the chain restaurants and any place within the carnivalesque square surrounding Clifton Hill, and look for small, locally-owned places like The Guru (I went twice and would have continued to go had I stayed longer in Niagara). I'm not sure if it's because I went when it wasn't that busy, but I got excellent and friendly service. Their prantha and roti are excellent, but you certainly don't get much in comparison to other Indian places I've been to. I've had their tandoori chicken and their chicken haryali tikka and thought both were excellent - the chicken was moist and marinated well, full of spice and flavour with just the right amount of kick.
Expensive Curry. The food is pretty good, but the value is not. Four of us went, we each had two bottles of beer, and in all fairness, we did order a lot; six dishes between us, and some samosas to start, but the total came to $175. With tip it was over $100 per couple. That's an expensive weeknight.
I liked it. Prices add up quick with extras to cost you $30+ per person, but it was good.
A little pricey but absolutely delicious and ample servings.
Very conveniently located at the top of Clifton Hill, in close proximity to the main attractions in Nagara Falls. On a scale of unacceptable, acceptable and great, the ambience is acceptable, and this despite our unwanted companion through the meal, one pesky fly. We ordered vegetarian fare. Dal Makhani, Maneer Makhani and an assortment of breads. The food seemed fresh, the Dal was awesome and the paneer good. I would definitely come here if looking for an Indian meal in the Niagara region.
Lots of choices and great food! Definitely worth a try!
