Review Sushi Sushi Japanese Restaurant - Newmarket

William Kung
I was looking for something to eat after shopping at the nearby Upper Canada Mall. I felt like like sushi, and found a place on Google with good reviews, so I decided to try it out. Well I am happy I decided to go here. The service was really friendly and welcoming. The food was really good and I enjoyed everything that was ordered. We started with soft shell crab, and tempura appetizers, both were fresh and hot and crispy. For the entrees we got steak bento, and sushi and sashimi combo. I didn't realize the dinner bento came with tempura, so I ate alot of tempura(lol...sooo good). I enjoyed the steak and the sushi and sashimi was really fresh. I will gladly comeback, when I visit Newmarket again.

Been going here since I was a kid! At least 10 years now. The staff is amazing - Josie always knows our order. The staff go out of your way to make you feel welcomed. Food is amazing and great options.

The worst place I’ve ever went, I paid 45 dollars for 10 sushi, I thought that was not possible

Good taste and combinations! We ordered for takeout 4 maki rolls. The Philadelphia roll was very tasty. The L.A. role and Aurora were both very similar but had good taste. The Red dragon was perfect with lettuce and shrimp tempura and with the Salmon sashimi topping! The only complaint is that the miso soup (which had a good recipe with curd cheese cubed in it) wasn’t included as it’s usually included in other sushi restaurants but here we had to pay extra for it. Generally the rolls were fresh and yummy.

We tried this restaurant for the first time. I ordered one mixed plate with various rolls to share with a friend (see pictures). We paid $42.91 without tip (since it was take out). The rolls were rather small with lots of rice but not a lot of fish. The slices of avocado were not very fresh and slightly brown. There are far better and more affordable sushi places around. One plate was not really enough for two ... but we did not feel that spending over $85 for two plates was reasonable. I rarely give negative reviews, but I really can't recommend this restaurant. The quality is mediocre and the value is not great. (Note: it is possible that due to CV19 they don't have many orders at this time and that this may have affected the freshness of the food ... but still it was a disappointing experience).

Delicious a-la-carte sushi joint that's been here for over a decade. Newmarket rolls have been a personal favorite. Attentive wait staff. Sushi always tastes fresh, never had a bad experience once!

Terrible experience! They were so rude and forgot part of my order. I paid over 60 dollars for sushi and hardly got any food! Please don't waste your money here.

Honestly fantastic food and outstanding sashimi and sushi. Decor is a bit basic - but the service was well attended and thought in waiting until my menu was down to come and ask me what I wanted. Very well done! Quick turn around! I’m very happy!
