Review Benebene Waffle & Ice Cream - Newmarket

Good selection of kwartha ice cream flavours at reasonable prices, nothing spectacular. Was told at the checkout that I could not order the crepes because of high customer volume which was a huge disappointment. Fresh fruit Mango smoothie barely tasted like mango, tasted more like straight up ice. Even when it melted down, just tasted like mildly favoured water. I’m sure it is fresh fruit, but defin not a lot of it…Not worth $5.99. Would not come here again.

Nice little ice cream joint with pretty good ice cream flavor variety. The location is perfect of you plan to have dinner somewhere on Main Street in Newmarket because it gives you an option for ice cream, crepe and/or waffles for dessert.

Got ice cream with my family here today. Staff were rushing us and my 3 year old changed his mind and wanted a different flavour. They said because it was already scooped he couldn't change it. I also asked how many ice creams there were in total on the receipt and the cashier snapped at me simply for asking. Do yourself a favour and drive up the road to Kawartha dairy where the customer service is great and you can get the same ice cream.

Used to be good. Newer owners are awful. Place is dirty. They don’t even speak to customers that are there. They seem grumpy. Paid $15 for ice cream and then wanted a water for $1. Gave them my card and the guy pointed to a sign that says minimum $2 for credit. I just paid $15 five minutes prior. Stay away from this dirty hole.

Honestly one of the best ice creams i have ever eaten. Cookies & cream flavour was amazing ! Prices are fair, similar to baskin Robbins And the shop is real cute! Definitely going back soon !!

Not family friendly. It’s too bad the ice cream is great but the staff are consistently rude. We have visited multiples times but this will be our last strictly due to the customer service. They yell at you when you ask for “kid/ baby scoops” and try to make you buy the single scoops. Customers behind us received the same treatment and left with the same bad service.

Very generous portion of ice cream. The waffle is the best. It's a clean and nice small store. I recommend it for sure.

I don't know about the other items so I'm not giving a 1-star but the regular coffee is god-awful cardboard water, stick to the treats.

Been here a couple times, and each time, the experience was great. Owners are friendly and the food is great. One time when I was craving a certain drink, they even made it for me even though it wasn't on the menu!

Best place on Main Street. The owners are wonderful people and are always happy. Wonderful environment.

Mint Hot Chocolate on a cold winter's night from here was exactly what the doctor ordered. Great treats and very kind staff! We will be back.

Yesterday evening was our first visit - and what a treat!! The owners are so sweet, and the food was WONDERFUL! We each had a waffle with ice cream on top, and it was heavenly. It was very carefully crafted, and unlike any other waffle I've ever had. Truly a pleasure, and I look forward to many happy returns.

Came in here on a hot Summer day. I was craving for something heavy and cool. I found that the owners were very kind and thoughtful. Overall geniune and kind service and waffles! Kawartha ice cream in blackberry thunder on top makes it even better. Lovely presentation too.

Not the way I like my waffles. I decided to come here after reading all the rave reviews on Urbanspoon and seeing how highly rated it was. I love waffles. I decided to get the Belgium Waffle with Fruit (Strawberries), Ice Cream and Whipped Cream. It took about 12 minutes to be served after ordering. The presentation of the waffle was very good. However, I prefer my waffles soft, especially in the middle part. I would say my preference in texture of the waffle would be similar to the way that Pickle Barrel or Mandarin serves their waffles. This waffle was more crunchy and chewy. You definitely needed a knife to cut the waffle. The taste of the waffle itself was good but I really dislike crunchy and chewy waffles. If that is the way you like your waffles then I am sure you will like the waffles here. If you, like me, don't like them that way then I wouldn't recommend it.

What a treat!. With carefully crafted waffles and Kawartha ice cream, there is no going wrong! The owners put a lot of love and care into what they do, and it definitely shows. The food I received looked just as beautiful as the menu photographs - how often can you say that?! My waffle was even better than I was craving, the nutella syrup was a dream come true, and the ice cream was delish. I look forward to bringing all my visiting friends :) YUM!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I work around the corner from bene bene, me and my family are in there all the time! we all have our favorites: my brother only drinks the americana coffee ( extra milk), my daughter needs a scoop of ice cream OR milkshake after a long day of school and I love the Waffles for desert !!! We had the hot chocolate tonight and I fell in love with the teddy face on top! Ladies you must get one !!!

Just went to Bene Bene tonight with my boyfriend solely based on the previous outstanding reviews and a craving for crepes. It was an amazing experience, not only for the food but the service was out of this world. Unlike other restaurants nowadays. It is a great atmosphere and the staff truly make you feel special, as corny as that may sound! Not from his head to be superior. Perfect dessert date location! We will now be regulars at this place for sure. Best dessert spot in Newmarket by far!

Awesome Place, Awesome Owners. Shaun and his wife go out of their way to serve their customers. From the hand made chocolate covered cones with sprinkles and gummy bears to the smiles they offer EVERY time we go in there. It's our new dessert for date night Thursdays. Same awesome waffles and crepes and the price blows Kora's out of the water! Buh bye Cora's and hello Bene Bene!

I was just on a date walk with my bf when we noticed this cute waffle and ice cream shop. The people who work there are beyond nice, like they go out of their way for you to enjoy your experience there. AND the crepes are AMAZING. So delicious. Will come here again for sure.

Delicious. I experienced Bene Bene today for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, in spite of the excellent reviews I had already seen. I enjoyed a crepe with fresh fruit and ice cream ... delicious! I also had a Korean citron tea - wonderful on a cold winter day. Great coffee too.

Amazing food and even better service!. I have been to Bene Bene a few times now, but today I had the strawberry hot chocolate and the apple pecan waffle. The food was incredible, and the service could not have been better. They have a wonderful dessert/treat menu, with awesome drinks- really nice on a cold day! I love the food at Bene Bene, and the I love the owners even more, really great spot in Newmarket!

Fittingly named. Just the place to go to when you're craving for desserts. Good price & service. Seriously, just try their waffles. Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Will NOT disappoint!

Great little spot for a first date! Their waffles are like nothing you have ever tasted before. The couple who own this place take such pride in offering quality treats. Don't just try the ice cream, bene bene also has gourmet coffee, espresso and hot chocolate drinks, single serve and made to order, which tastes even better with an apple pecan waffle treat on the side.

Must try!. Love their Belgium waffles with Kawartha icecream!! Belgium waffle has just the right amount of sweetness that goes well with a cup of black coffee on a chilly day. It's my absolute favorite and I'd recommend to any waffle-lovers. I've also tried strawberry banana smoothie and it tastes very fresh and delicious. The owners are nice and friendly as well.

Delicious!. Bene Bene Waffle and Ice Cream is a wonderful and local place to satisfy your sweet tooth! The man the owns the store is SO welcoming and does an amazing job. I have never had such amazing service. I will be coming back again and telling others to do the same!

Rich creamy hot chocolate. Never tasted in any other place before. Their flavored hot chocolate was awesome! <br/>I've tried strawberry, not too sweet but creamy and soft. Best with their Belgium Waffle.<br/>I will try a different flavor next time.

Great product, friendly service. This place serves Kawartha Dairy ice cream, which is the most under-rated ice cream around... just as good, if not better than Baskin & Robins or Marble Slab. Finally I can get it in town, and don't have to drive out to Uxbridge to get it.<br/><br/>Their fresh-made waffles are a great addition to the ice cream as well!
