Review Old Village Free House - Newmarket

Booze and schmooze? Maybe more! It happened recently that our party of six were late for dinner on a Tuesday night by almost 9 pm. As almost everywhere else is closed nearby in Aurora and Newmarket, we decided to try it out at the Olde Village. It turned out that all the dishes we ordered were really good! The onion soup is A+ while the calamari also appeals to the sea food lovers. And, my Village Club not just had all the right ingredients but it's all nicely executed. They also threw onion rings for free. I should also mention that the service is great despite the fact that the lone waitress and the bartender had to deal with so many customers. Last but not least, Tuesday is their burger night meaning that you get a free side!

Love this patio, it’s huge, clean and lots of space. Chill and fun vibe, looks like pups are welcome as well which is so cool! The food is really delicious, large portions and brought home lots of left overs. Vegan options which is great, kid approved options, and pub fair et. Service is quick and friendly even though it was busy with big groups. Couldn’t believe how low the bill was for all we ate! Will be back very soon

Decent food and nice atmosphere. Good place to dine or have a beer on Main Street Newmarket.

Small town pub vibe but only minutes away from big city life. Excellent service. Menu offered so much more than typical pub fare. Everyone was more than satisfied with their menu selections. Will definitely return to sample more of menu.

For a place with a small kitchen they can put out some pretty good meals. From the Specials menu Pork Chop to Prime Rib dinner on the wknds and some of the best cooked (less cooked) not mushy delicious vegetable sides. Not the most glamorous place/ pub but some pretty good food.

Wonderful little spot, was very pleased with the atmosphere and the friendly staff, went in on a Friday Evening for dinner, and did not make reservations, it was very busy and clearly reservations would have been best, but the staff offered for us to have a drink at the bar and they got us into a table. Food was good, and service was fast and efficient, the pub was full of fun happy people, it was a good time.

My wife and I were in the mood for some fish and chips. We have never tried the food at Olde Village but the reviews of the restaurant were pretty solid. We ordered a one piece fish and chips with a side order of chilli fries. The food was pretty good and the portion was just right.

First time. Walked in on a Sunday after being told to basically 'get lost' upon walking into another Newmarket main street pub, down the road, as it was hosting a private party but had no door sign saying so. Quite rude bartender. The Olde Village staff were total opposite s, very friendly. Good food, good cheer! I'll be back. 👍
