Review Tuptim Thai - Newmarket

One of my most favorite Thai restaurant! The Pad Thai flavour and texture is on-point! The curry is asian kind of spicy and its supper tasty. Papaya salad is fresh and delicious. The best part is their Thai milk tea! It's soooo good. The taste is very unique and flavorful, the owner make this from scratch instead of using the instant powder one. The place is quite big with lot of tables and parking. Service is nice and quick. I was fortunate to get to interact with the chief a couple of time. She is such a lovely lady and she works so hard! Sometimes she runs the whole restaurant by herself. Definitely recommend this place!

Ordered the dinner for 2 combo, and it was awful. The chicken in both dishes was rubbery, way overcooked and had a funny smell/taste. Same with the shrimp. The pad thai tasted off. My husband didn't touch his pad thai after the first few bites, and I only ate the veggies and rice from my dish. The rest went straight to the trash. Unfortunately we have yet to have a good Thai food experience here in Aurora.

Great authentic food. I've had the curries, pad thai, etc all are Absolutely fantastic. Gotta try the beef in peanut sauce, I have daydreams about it. Dinner for 2 meal, hot and sour soup, shrimp and chicken pad thai, beef in peanut sauce, jasmine rice around $30. Great deal, can feed 3. Really nice owners

With such a wide range of reviews here, I thought I'd post something honest. History: We frequented this place regularly a few years back, but stopped due to quality issues. This was our first order here in about 3 years. Our Thai palette comes restaurants across downtown and GTA. Place: Look, every place is looking pretty divey thanks to covid. We were just getting takeout though. There is, as other reviewers have noted, just one person running the show. Food: Literally 3stars. Cheaper but not as good as that "other" Thai place in Newmarket. We ordered the dinner for 4. Spring Rolls were great, rice was actually well done with the right "sticky", lol. The Cashew nut chicken was awesome, but as others have said WAY too brothy. The beef dishes were hit and miss with the actual beef often too gristly. Of the two, we enjoyed the beef red curry. Unfortunately, the Pad Thai was quite bad. And we can't order from a restaurant that can't deliver a decent Pad Thai. It was dry, and just a lump of noodles with some chicken and shrimp and cashews dumped on top. Work on adding some quality to this dish and we might consider Tuptim again. Support local, this food is "good". We just hope the restaurant works to make it a bit "better". Hopefully, this unbiased review will help others sifting through the other colourful reviews here.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Ordered take out. When I got to the spot, I was suspect as it didn’t seem like things were in order. But I guess with circumstances, dining room tidiness isn’t a priority. Lady was very welcoming. Took my food and didn’t know what to expect. WELL, I had the pad Thai and it was OUTSTANDING. Also had the spicy basil chicken and I enjoyed it immensely. I’m not from Newmarket but if I ever return, I’d definitely give this place a thumbs up for a second visit.

Location threw me off to be honest. It looks really sketchy... But the food!!! The food is so good! And great portion size! Seriously, give it a try!

Authentic taste. Had the pad thai and panang beef. The beef was high quality. So good. Felt sorry for them with the shutdown i was the only one getting take out at noon. Looked like just the owner working there. I've decided to order from here ever chance I get! It's harder than you think to get real thai food!

Pathetic food quality and worst first experience. We ordered pad kee mao and cashew chicken and none of them had any flavor. Chicken was so dry that we can’t have even one bite and threw everything! Portions were huge but quality is worst. Totally waste of money and food! Being a foodie and I love Thai food but this was the disaster. I wish I would find a good thai restaurant in the GTA area.

I an order on door dash the restaurant cancelled the order I called the restaurant to figure out what happened she was trying to tell me I cancelled the order when I explained to her multiple times they cancelled the order then they proceeded to hang up on me.. would not recommend to anyone. If your looking for good pad Thai I would recommend mint garden

I was searching for Banh Trang Nuong (Bánh Tráng Nướng) Vietnamese Pizza and couldn't find any restaurant in Toronto and all Ontario that has this, then I found Tuptim Thai Restaurant in Newmarket, ON that has it! its very Authentic and tastes exactly like back home, I missed this food a lot and Thanks to Tuptim Thai for making me feel like I am in Vietnam!!

I have tried Pho soup from other places, quite a few actually and the Tuptim Thai is the best by far. The quantity that is given is insanely huge, I probably could have shared or had another bit for breakfast. Lol! Oh and the staff let's not forget them... they are amazing, it doesn't matter who you get.

Hidden Thai Gem !!. My wife, two young sons, godfather to the boys and I had lunch today at Tuptim Thai. We started with hot n sour soup and an appetizer platter (Combo Dish) that consisted of: fish cakes, chicken satay skewers, beef spring rolls, shrimp spring rolls, veggie spring rolls, and cold rolls. Homemade peanut sauce and spring roll sweet sauce was also put on the table. We all enjoyed the apps - you could tell that everything was made fresh. The soup was very good. My boys could not stop eating the spring rolls and chicken sticks.

Once the main dishes came out: chicken pad Thai, BBQ beef, spicy peanut sauce with beef and pineapple fried rice we couldn't stop serving ourselves! I've had good Thai food from many restaurants in Toronto and the GTA, but I must say that it was worth the drive to Newmarket. Unbeleivably immense flavours! The pineapple fried rice was made with chicken toasted cashews and fresh pineapple. Other restaurants use canned pineapple with syrup which changes taste and texture of the dish. Tuptim Thai chefs know what they are doing. The spicy peanut sauce with beef dish is phenomenal surrounded by broccoli.

All in all an amazing place to enjoy home cooked fresh Thai style cuisine. Two thumbs up Tuptim!!

Mac
Etobicoke, Ontario

Excellent food at a decent price. Tried Tuptim for the first time last night (takeout). As we were both busy, we were lazy and ordered one of their set dinners for two, which usually means boring. Not so with Tuptim. The hot and sour soup was flavourful but not glutenous, as it often is elsewhere. Pad Thai was very good, but the spicy beef even better. We ordered a couple of spring rolls on the side and they were excellent too. All this (and there were leftovers) for about $30, which is quite reasonable for good Thai food.

Excellent service! Authentic Lao/Thai style cuisine. Would highly recommend.

This place was disgusting!!! The spring roll tasted burnt and the calamari was rubber. Pad Thai was gross and the green curry chicken was not worth spending the money on. This restaurant should be ashamed
Of their food. What a waste of money.

Favourite place. I am a frequent customer at Tuptims. The food is excellent; you can order anything off of the menu and have it be delicious. The service is always attentive and helpful. I recommend this place to everyone!

We have been eating here at least once a month for the last 10 years. Every meal is just as delicious as that first meal. If you've only had their take out, would suggest you try eating in, it is just that much better. Would recommend the Thai spicy noodle, spicy chicken with eggplant, wan ton soup and hot and sour soup, and street noodles. Best chicken satay I've ever eaten.

One of my Favourite Places. Every time I have come here the service has been great and the food has been even better. I strongly recommend the spicy peanut beef SO GOOD. Their pad thai and curries are also amazing. I love going there and trying new dishes along with my favourites because I have never tried something there that I didn't like. It's fairly priced, with large portions. I love to sit in the little corner table where you get to sit on cushions it's so cozy. Every time I am in Newmarket this is the place I want to go to!
