Review The Sociable Pub - Newmarket

My daughter bring me here today for Mother’s Day! I got a chicken curry 😋 absolutely fantastic! The server was nice a always kept an eye on our table…. But the best part was they let me have my dogs in the patio! Nice weather, perfect music… I absolutely recommend this place!

Amazing food! My favorite is fish taco, sauce is really good & veggies are fresh. Portions are big too. It's in a historic building (which I love) and they have lots of parking spaces. Google the location ahead, you might not be able to see it right away from the main street.

We went on a sat night, karaoke was a nice vibe, place is pretty and clean, was very busy, glad we made reservations. Our server, Lucas, was amazing! Its clear to see the staff here work hard. Drink: Strawberry daq was ok. Beers selection was nice, fresh and just the right temp. Shrimp tasty. Wish there was a little more on the board. Will go back for a dinner next time.

I had my bridal shower at the Sociable Pub on August 28th. We had such a great time! Danny was very accommodating for all of my requests. I was able to sit down with Danny and the chef to design a specialized menu for my event. Everything went so smoothly and the staff were great. The food was also delicious and everyone that attended was happy.

Ate here over the weekend and I will definitely say that the food here is great! My wife and I had shared the mussels and then calamari which are a HIT! So good! Then I had the shrimp tacos and they were amazing! My wife had the poutine & wings she said they were ok. On to the drinks… we were unable to taste the alcohol in them so we had to get a double shot in both drinks… the overall experience was great and our server Jordana was also great! We shall return! Google reviews lead us to this hidden gem in Newmarket. We were not disappointed - The food was amazing, the servers are friendly, patio is absolutely dog-friendly (thank you for being so kind to my dog), great music! We will definitely come back!

I am so disappointed that I spent my money here. I wish I just stayed home and cooked. Food was nothing to write home about.. bland and commercial. Flies all over the window sills- alive AND dead… only good thing was our server who was very kind. Definitely off my list of restaurants to dine at. Sad

I heard so much about the pub and decided to try it out last night. Coming in a side door is weird but then we were hit by the distinct smell of bleach/disinfectant when we opened the door. The entrance/bar area had a purse on it and the side shelves were a mess. We were seated promptly and then had to wait quite awhile for a server to show up and the place was virtually empty. We did get an apology about that. Maybe we chose wrong but the food was fair. I had the harvest salad which for the price was very small and the add on chicken was $6 for two or three small slices (they were tasty). The dressing was very tart even for someone who likes vinegar. My partners fish and chips were average.

This place is my absolute favourite. Staff and owners are fantastic! Always very friendly, and welcoming, with excellence service every time! The food is so delicious, the atmosphere is very cozy and the live entertainment on the weekends all work so well together to make such a great time! My recommendations on the menu.... EVERYTHING!!! There isn’t enough star ratings for this place. Definitely a must try, if you haven’t!

We have eaten at The Sociable Pub twice now. Love the East Coast theme, unique for Newmarket. The menu is great and both meals we have had their the food was excellent. The Lobster Roll was fresh and tasty. The fish and chips, fresh, perfectly battered and cooked to perfection with a fantastic in house made tartar sauce and coleslaw. I don't often clean my plate at a restaurant but this time I did. James our waiter was 1st class. Very knowledgable about all menu items including wine and beer, friendly and hospitable. We can't wait for the new patio to open in a few weeks. My only suggestion would be to get a few more wines on the wine list. It is quite limited. Would love to see a nice crisp Riesling for hot summer nights. Kudos to The Sociable Pub, keep up the great work. We will be back.

So you hear the word "pub" and you think to yourself "Yet another dark, dingy place with typical pub grub and the same old décor, your typical darts area, and a bunch of the "regulars" types bellied up to the bar." That was my expectation and, to my very happy surprise, The Sociable Pub is nothing even close to that. I was impressed the minute I walked through the door. Beautifully decorated in warm wood tones, hardwood floors, and very comfortable and inviting tables. We were sat near the fireplace and close to the live entertainment. We were presented with the menu which was nowhere near close to pub grub. We ordered appetizers which included steak tartare for me (amazing! and very few restaurants offer it) Scallops for my husband which he thoroughly enjoyed, and fried clams for my girlfriend which she highly recommended. Entrees included the Chicken and Dumplings, Lobster Mac and Cheese and the Lobster Roll. Everything was delicious and very fresh. Of Course, dessert is a must. Screech Rum Crème Brulee was to die for, and the Blueberry Crumble was amazing. We travelled to Newmarket to visit our friend, but would return again to eat here. Highly recommended!! Great job having a stand apart menu and atmosphere! Wishing you continued success!

The Sociable Pub has a great vibe and is always full of nice people. No surprise, cause it's run by two very nice people! The staff is always welcoming and they work hard all night! Wonderful food and drink and they have live music! It doesn't get better than this place in Newmarket!

Had an AMAZING dinner tonight with some girlfriends. We all shared the crab fritters (my personal fav), mussels, and lobster frites to start...yumm-o!!! I had the chicken pie skillet...incredible...a must try new menu dish. Brook & Alex did great making sure the full was taken care of. Hats off to the cooks for the delicious food & fantastic presentation. Can't wait to go back for another great evening! ~Cheers~

My husband and I were there for the lobster boil, we were a little skeptical about the lobster because we are from the East coast , but it was great!! We thoroughly enjoyed the lobster and potato salad and the corn, all fantastic, and my red winter sangria was great as well. Not our first visit here but it was for the lobster boil and we will definitely go again for it!

My husband Travis and I were in town yesterday for a wedding and stopped in for a bite to eat before the reception. The east coast food and atmosphere was ah-mazing! The owner Lenny was very friendly and really made us feel at home. The next time we are in town we will be sure to stop in for some lobster frites and screech bbq wings. First time that I've been disappointed at the Sociable. Glasses had spots on them, water in bottles on table looked like yellow tap water and the tea was only luke warm. Felt like the cleanliness wasn't up to par. Always a good meal with ample size servings though.

Hubby and I went there for a lunch date today and LOVED everything about it! The patio is so nice and private, with enough umbrellas for shade if needed, and comfortable seating! The server we had was fantastic, very "sociable" (hehe) and made recommendations etc when we asked. Our food was delicious as well. I had the grilled salmon sandwich on a brioche bun and hubby had the lobster roll. Tons of flavour and perfectly cooked.Super friendly all around great atmosphere, we cannot wait to go back!

Had an amazing lunch a couple of days ago with my husband ... he had the grilled cheese with bacon and apple, and I had the lobster roll ... both were fantastic! and the fries!! best I've had ever!! right to the bottom of the pail! :-)

We always enjoy our time there. Great staff and Lenny always says hello. recommend the bacon and blue burger.

Foods are great..... love the green lentil soup..... serving is quite much for a single person.... reasonable price...... staff are so attentive... surely i will comeback to this place

I found out about The Sociable through FB recommendations and I’m SO glad I listened! The atmosphere is great! The food was fantastic! And the live band was awesome! There were 4 of us and we all had such a great time! Thanks Lenny and Lynn!! Will definitely be coming back �

A very warm, cozy and welcoming atmosphere! A higher end pub with a more mature crowd. Although I had eaten dinner before I went to meet up with friends..The aromas from the kitchen and the atractively prepared food served on boards (grounded lol)..I could of very easily chowed down on a board full. I will definitely return to taste their wares and enjoy another pleasant evening!!! Thank you �

Brought my husband out for Birthday dinner last night & ordered their Valentine's special. It was very tasty. Compliments to the chef!!! We always enjoy the food and always receive very friendly service.

Amazing food, friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and even when they are crazy busy the service is still on point. Never had a bad experience!
