Review Chez Talal - Newmarket

Delicious food and great hospitality! Today I ordered the family skewer meal for 12 along with falafels (which is made fresh😋) and it was amazing. From the fresh garlic sauce to the perfectly seasoned skewers, it speaks for itself. Loved everything about this restaurant! Definitely a must try 💯🙌🏼

My friend took me here saying the Chez Talal has the most fresh and tastiest food. I was excited to try and it was the BEST quality shawarma I've ever had. I ordered the cauliflower dinner with a side order of chicken shawarma and I absolutely loved it! The staff is friendly and provide great service! can't wait to be back :)

Heading to nearby Newmarket Courthouse can be a chore from the westside of York Region. But not if there's lunch to look forward to Chez Talal! Following Kris' advice hasn't done me wrong yet, even when his meals are from 2-4 years ago. I guess something can be said for restaurant consistency! There's many rave reviews for the food here so I knew I had to try it out for myself as a fan of good shawarmas, gyros and döner kebabs. The meal here seems quite popular with young & old alike judging by the senior couple and then the mom with strollers. All of whom trekked here shortly after me. Now after visiting, I'm happy to report back that I was not disappointed. It was certainly one of the better shawarmas that I've had. A super friendly young lady at the counter expertly rolled the hunk of meat and veggies together before toasting for the crispy skin. Chicken Shawarma came with garlic & tahini sauces that were savoury though watery. The moist and flavourful chicken chunks melded well with the fresh veggies, sweet sesame, hot peppers & sour pickles for a flavourful affordable meal. It's true, Chez Talal is located at an awkward plaza, but the standalone restaurant itself looks fresh even having an outdoor patio if you're in the mood to watch road traffic. You're in a good mood anyways after a mini-food coma of a meal. Heck even the ordering counter with the strange UV lighting is fun and eye-catching!

Best shawarma and kebob place! The flavours are delicious, the food is always fresh & outstanding, the staff are friendly and super hardworking, and the menu is huge with many vegan and vegetarian options as well! Been coming here for years now and I highly recommend 😋👍🏻🌟

Really not bad for what it is, the food is in the top tier of all the middle eastern restaurant out there and they give you a lot of meat. But if you are ordering the kabob be sure the order ahead since it is going to take you about 10-15 minutes

Excellent food, service & management! I drive all the way from hw7 and woodbine at least once a week to visit this place because they have the best shawarma. Today My wife and I got the mixed shawarma plates on rice. Everything is always fresh and the portions are huge. I've never had shawarma as amazing as this place! It definitely stands out from other shawarma places from the kebobs to the shawarma to the salads. The taste has always been beyond satisfying every time we have been 😍 We have tried shawarma practically everywhere from Toronto, Aurora, Richmond Hill, Scarborough etc and Chez Talal is by far the best! Highly recommend!

Oooh this place is amazing!!! Ordered the chicken kebob low carb dinner with garden salad and it was delightful😋 My husband ordered a chicken kebab dinner which comes with rice, chicken kebob, sides of hummus baba ganouj & garlic paste, along with a complimentary pita and pop! (The dinners always comes with sides unless you ask for rice only). Discovered my new fav shawarma/kebab spot! EXCELLENT management as well

My wife and I had a lunch here today. I had the chicken shawarma dinner with rice with the works and a drink and my wife had the lamb kabob dinner with fries the works of toppings and a drink. The service was very friendly and the food was fresh tasting with great flavours. The total cost was around $38.

Amazing shawarma in Newmarket!!! I've heard about this new place and had to give it a try. Wide range of Lebanese dishes that are all made fresh to order. The owner is engaged with his customers and has amazing food on his menu. This is a family owned and run restaurant and anything you order on this menu will not disappoint. So here's what we had: Fresh to order Falafel Yes they are! Unlike other restaurants that have them premade and cooked and sitting there, here at Chez Talal they cook them fresh to order. The best falafel I have ever had!! Veggie Supreme All I can say is wow! Vegetables and lettuce and a mix of sauces are combined. He also adds a pomegranate sauce from Lebanon that tastes out of this world and we topped it with beef shawarma. The beef was out of this world!! I have never had a dish like this and one of my favourites. Chicken Shawarma Dinner Fresh juicy chicken shawarma with tahini, garlic paste, vegetables and rice. Plus a pita. Great portion and fresh and delicious. Baba Ganouj Homemade goodness. Topped with special spices and pomegranate seed. A Spinach Meat Pie Spinach, herbs and spices, lemon filled in a home made dough. So good! A Meat Pie Amazing meat and homemade dough. The owner will offer samples, friendly and proud of the great dishes he's producing. The most fresh Mediterranean food I've had in Newmarket and surrounding areas. A real jewel and can't wait to be back!!

love this place and couldn't say enough good things about it if I tried...the location's perfect and central, the food is really good and always fresh and the service is fantastic...Mr. Talal is also very friendly and hospitable. it has become a regular weekly thing my son loves it too I could honestly eat it everyday. best falafel in town and the shawarma and fatoush salad is great too.

A hidden gem in Newmarket! My family was spoiled with amazing food and even better service! Talal and the rest of the staff made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make it a great dinner experience. Give it a try...you won't be disappointed!

Amazing food and great people very welcoming i love it there highly recommended healthy and not to harsh on the stomach either but very filling and you get what you pay for its worth it at a great price

I don't eat take-out often and want it to be a treat. Chez Talal does not disappoint! The owner and staff are lovely and the chicken shawarma (in a pita, loaded) was not only DELICIOUS but is a full meal – fantastic value for money! As a first-timer, Talal (the owner) also insisted I try the falafel and cooked a sample for me: Best I have tried. If you love Lebanese, or are trying for the first time – you will be delighted.

Went with Andrew for lunch and it was the best. So fresh and flavourful. Staff were so nice and helpful. And even checked with us to see if we liked the food. We loved it. And will be returning many times to this awesome place. Thank you for making tasty healthy food. We love you guys

Friday evening and just tried out Chez Talal and it is amazing!! You have to try their falafel as it is freshly made in front of you and it is the best I've ever eaten. Crispy on the outside yet the softest ever on the inside. We ordered the chicken and beef shawarma sandwiches and the lamb kabob dinner and it is like having a home cooked meal as it is prepped by Chef Talal himself. This is what separates this Mediterranean restaurant from others I've tried- there is so much heart put into their foods and homemade sauces! Highly recommended!!

The freshest , the best, like my mom makes! Nuff said! This place is the go to place in Newmarket for authenticness, hospitality, and a family atmosphere. They don't just do in restaurant dinning they will do whole meals for 5 plus ... to go! Hey mama's out there who doesn't feel like cooking tonight? Always pleased with the service and quality of their food. Never once been disappointed. They are consistent with portions and are always very quick to serve. I love how friendly and welcoming the staff are. This place is always my number one take out place.

The best Shawarma and Falafel sandwiches in York Region. I say that having tried most of them. Truly authentic and made fresh everyday. I definitely recommend it.

The best shawarma I've ever had; Simply put: it's never bad. Really personable guy running the store; After I've finished a plate, I want him to sell me more. In the evening, they don't leave the chicken out in the open air; Other places do this and serve dried-out chicken -- it's like they just don't care! When I go too long without this food, it's an insane withdrawal; That's why I'll always stop at Chez Talal!

Amazing food and so fresh. Talal makes you feel like one of the family. My favourite go-to-spot to all things Lebanese. The falafel is awesome as is the tabbouleh and shawarma. Don't miss out on this must-try restaurant!!!!

Needed something for lunch, yes I am a "grumpy hungry" kind of person, and stopped off at Chez Talal. A Mediterranean cuisine restaurant on Davis Drive just east of Yonge. The staff and the food were amazing. They provided samples before our big decision so we kind of knew that we would be impressed. An all around great experience. Large quantities will serve us for a second meal. A definite repeat.

Just called tonight after coming home late and had to come up with late Fathers Day dinner last minute.Called the restaurant and we picked up a tray with every possible fixing for Chicken Swarmas. Suberb service over the phone and at the restaurant. I made my pits and figured I'll finished tomorrow but I literally inhaled it within minutes. Food doesn't get any fresher than this . The sauces and Hummus were top notch . Chicken was melting in your mouth . We are huge fans after trying it today and we will visit often . Thank you for making our Fathers Day meal special ❤️
