Review The Maids' Cottage - Newmarket

Pither Temoteo
Finally, I had the chance to try the famous butter tarts from The Maid's Cottage. It is simply delicious. It is worth it to cross the city. The tarts are really special, taste so good, so fresh. Definitely, it is the best butter tart ever. All the different flavors make it even better. The lady who works there is such a nice person. The only problem is that the store is too busy, but I understand. Everyone wants the same nice things as me. Nice places usually are very busy.

We participated in an Easter Scavenger Hunt hosted by Jennifer Jones group realty and a half dozen butter tarts had to follow me home. They certainly lived up to their reputation as I've heard nothing but legendary reviews of their butter tarts! Thanks Maid's Cottage for helping bring a winning dessert to Easter! :)

Warm welcomes and kind smiles to greet you. The tarts are sweet, which helps make them not get all gobbled up at once. I bought half a dozen and could only eat 2 at first. The price is more than most other places, but the quality is well worth double the price. The variety of different flavors is amazing; something for everyone. I will return before heading home.

Today we celebrated my future daughter-in-law's bridal shower at The Maids Cottage. The owner Deb and her staff were very accommodating from the on start. The brunch was a hit with the guests with a huge selection including vegan, gluten free and cooked to perfection by chef Victor. Victor created a masterpiece with the fruit platter. The venue was recently renovated with a modern style to suit any event decor. Thank you Deb, Kathleen, Victor, Barb, Pam and Steve (sound tech) for making it a pleasurable experience.

Check out my Instagram @justhungry for more reviews! I found this gem on Google when I was looking for food in the area and saw that they had award-winning butter tarts, so I couldn’t miss out! I arrived half an hour before closing and didn’t have to line up, but they only had four flavours left to chose from, which included the classics (plain, pecan & pecan raisin) as well as the flavour of the month (pina colada). These butter tarts were perfection - on the sweeter side as expected but their crunchy shells and gooey centres are highly addictive! They tasted just as good the next day. Highly recommend! I can’t wait to go back to try their other goodies. They sell out quickly, so make sure to go early or order on their website in advance!!

We loved this place. Awesome butter tarts and dining in was a real pleasure. Very disappointed they have decided not to do dine-in any longer. It was worth the trip from T.O.

Delicious and loved the gluten free options. Best gluten free chicken pot pie I've ever had!! And the butter tarts are to die for!

It was the most amazing little hidden gem on Main St Newmarket. The food, all hand made, cooked and baked was beyond delicious. Home made soups, bread, tarts, cookies and all things that delight the palette set in a cozy atmosphere with super friendly staff.

Love it here! Food is great!! The reason I rated it a 4 is because Today was the only time I didn’t have the greatest experience with a waitress but it’s usually such a great and friendly place! But I definitely won’t bring my baby back! The hostess sat myself and my friend in the back with our car seats and we left our stroller at the front of the store which was completely fine. Then the waitress comes and she said “um is anyone else joining you?l” as we were sat at a 4 person table. We said no. She said “well we will need the table as we usually have a line out the door at lunch “ Not sure where she wanted me to put my baby. As can’t put him on the floor! And the hostess is the one who pulled the second table over for us without us even asking so our babies could have a spot to sit . She was very nice. I then felt very uncomfortable the whole Time and asked my friend if we should Leave. The waitress heard and said oh never mind it’s fine. She also said “if my boss sees this they won’t be happy.....” Yikes! We couldn’t wait to leave!

I took my kids for lunch yesterday to celebrate the end of the school year for the 6th year in a row. The food is great and the staff is amazing! One of the owners brought over gifts I had stashed there earlier in the day for my kids. so lucky to have this in Newmarket!

At Fenn & Fenn Insurance we often order from The Maid's Cottage for business lunches. They never disappoint. Their butter tarts appear to be world famous and are a conversation piece, that is until our customers start eating them! So delish! Keep up the great work.

The food is homemade, always fresh. The Maid's Cottage is a place you can go and still get a soup or sandwich instead of the fast food alternative. The owners always greet customers with a smile . The staff works together as a team and it shows .l can't wait to visit again soon.
