Great little greasy spoon! Cheap breakfast! Great prices and decent food- I love their omelettes. Once you've been in few times, they really get to know you and your fam
Have been to this family run breakfast place off and on for years. Why? Portions are a good size, food is fresh (not meant for those with gourmet tastes), place is clean, and if you are pleasant with the staff, they are pleasant with you. Also, they will cook to order, so if you want something subbed, no problem. And, they do both Chinese and North American food. Just a note: either get there earlier (around 8am) or arrive after noon so that you are not stuck waiting in a lineup.
Really great price for the food! Lots of sausages in the breakfast special they have posted. Staff is always friendly and very attentive for orders and coffee refills. Been here twice and have had the same great experience! :)
Would come back. I had the .... Would come back.
I had the eggs Bennie & hubby had the hot corn beef sandwich w/fries. Mine had large slices of ham, house made home fries (not grated hash but pan fried chunks) and 2 delicious stacks of eggs Benedict. Well worth the under $9 price. The corn beef sandwich was a special under $7 so for the price, it was good value but didn't look anything special. Also, they use frozen krinkle-cut fries so if that's not your thing than ask to substitute.
Service was very good - both the Asian man and woman who served us were polite and full of smiles.
If you're thinking of eating Chinese food - there's an extremely small selection (no chow mein).
I will go back - especially for breakfast.
Good food. For the price, you can't go wrong. Fresh and consistent. Try the eggs benny for 6.95!
Reasonable and Decent. Male server was very friendly, but female server who came to take our order was a bit more terse. She did crack a smile when I commented that the food came so fast.
I had the basic breakfast. Can't go wrong with a $5 breakfast. Food was decent - I particularly liked the pan-fried potatoes. Very similar to Bon's on Broadway except a bit more expensive.
Wor Wonton hit the spot. Caught in a rainstorm with no hat, I ducked into this greasy spoon to warm up and dry off. Good thing I had cash because they don't take debit or credit cards.
I ordered the Wor Wonton Soup and a Spring Roll. The soup was very nice and good value. Big pieces of BBQ pork, chunks of brocolli, many wontons, and long noodles. Broth was nice and not too strong or salty. Had to eat long noodles with a fork as there were no chopsticks on the table (could have asked but was enjoying the soup too much).
Spring roll was also quite nice and seemed freshly made.
Ambiance is classic greasy spoon. It is what it is.
Good value, just make sure you have cash.
Great for the price. Well it might be a little greasy spoon, but they never uk up my breakfast....and for $4.95!! They have REAL panfried potatoes...just wish they would throw some onions in there to livin it up. Great service and great attitude!
Decent cheap eats.. Great greasy spoon style place, I usually eat the $4.65 breakfast special (sausage, ham or bacon, with 2 eggs, toast and grilled pan fries) but their wor wonton is great for the price too.
Service is average to average+ for this type of place, but expect to wait for a table if you show up at lunch time, it's always full.
My favourite breakfast place in all of Vancouver area. A full, hearty breakfast with a coffee and orange juice for under $10, you can't beat that!
Another breakfast in New Westminster! This time was at Amelia Cafe . I ordered the breakfast special number 1 , which was the usual 2 eggs, hash brown, sausage and toast. This was a solid breakfast. My eggs were cooked perfectly at over medium, there was a lot of crispy hash brown, and there were 3 sausages. Nothing was overly greasy, sausages were surprisingly good. And all this was just under $5. Breakfast Special Number 3 was French toast with 2 eggs and sausages. The french toast was cooked home style, and quite bland, but this was still a good breakfast for under $5 as well. Nothing beats cheap and tasty breakfast at a friendly diner, and Amelia Cafe was just that. It is also cash only. [Show as slideshow] [View with PicLens]
Amelia Cafe on 6th street in New Westminster is a casual diner with affordable prices, friendly service and a clean atmosphere. Like so many Lower Mainland greasy spoons, Amelia's Cafe serves a standard mixed fare of Western classics and Chinese food. The dining room is small and decorated with an interesting mix of retro and stuff you might find from an Asian family's home.
