Its only a 4 in food, a 3.5 in decor, a 4.5 in service but for the type of "comfort food" I would walk a mile for, this is a solid "5". The Farmer's breakfast is one of the very best breakfast deals anywhere in the metro area but I almost never get to order it. The Super Burger is my very favorite all time comfort food. It is a bacon, cheese and mushroom burger served with a side of extra crispy, extra tasty fries all under $10 and delicious. When I lived in Deep Cove, every two or three months if I hadn't been in a while, I would call a friend from New West and meet for lunch there, even if I had to take buses and sky train. Now that I live in Coquitlam I am there twice as often and twice as happy. I am 70 and in years past when there were simple, cheap and good Asian-owned cafes like Jim's all over BC, this would have STILL been one of the very best.
This is the go to place for a Saturday hangover breakfast. I suggest the farmers breakfast. I usually sub the ham for an extra bacon and an extra sausage. I usually order take out and it's ready for pick up in 10 minutes. Under 20 bucks for 2 combos and always stuffed to the point of not being able to move by the end 😁
Quick, Dirty and Cheap. It's a good thing that this place is cheap because it isn't much to write home about. Literally. Just basic food cooked fast. Not bad for a quick breakfast, but wouldn't go out of my way for this one.
Best Breakfast place on Sixth. The decor is crap, the front door is broken, and the service is nicely minimal - but they know how to cook eggs and know how to do a crispy hash brown.
Your wait time is short, you can be in and out in 15 minutes. When ever I am here I feel sorry for the people spending more across the street getting a more expensive fast food breakfast. Jim's is faster, better, and more.
Good basic breakfast or lunch place. Good portions of quality food, nice service at reasonable prices, and has that feel of a local favorite. Very similar to Amelia's in most aspects. I recommend for a breakfast for $10 with a coffee.
Great breakfast diner. The place is small and the decor is dated but the food is typical greasy spoon/home cooked fare and the prices are EXCELLENT. It has become our favourite breakfast spot in New West. Service is polite and timely and I've never been disappointed with my orders. (Jim's Sandwich is DELICIOUS!)
Excellent. This is definitely my favourite breakfast place in New West...food is amazing, service is great and it's cheap. An excellent breakfast in NW.
They are always wonderfully friendly. The food comes fast and hot and is altogether delicious. The coffee cup is never empty, most often it's full and contents so tasty.
Best breakfast cafe in this neighborhood! Very friendly staff, perfect portion, delicious homemade food! Look forward to going back soon!
I visited this cafe for breakfast after seeing a lot of good reviews on google, me and husband thought why not give it a try? And trust me it was worth it! I loved their servicing, the waitresses were really friendly and humble. Loved their food. The cafe has a homely environment which I liked the most 😊 We will definitely visit this place again!
Ordered from here through door dash for the first time. Food's pretty good except for my friends burger was squished.
Great breakfast and the crispy shredded hash browns were wonderful. Really good old school diner. I will definitely go back!
Service was exceptional. She was by herself and somehow able to provide polite and speedy service. The food came out within 15mins for the whole restaurant (6+ tables). Had the specials of the day which are $9 + $11: Farmers breakfast and Mexi omlette. Arguably one of the best breakfast restaurants in New West. Chicken noodle soup is brothy and delicious. Hashbrowns soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. The salsa that came with the omlette is to die for. Toasts are surprisingly good.
Eggs and sausages done properly, ham doesn't taste or look like bologna.
They have some good breakfast options. Good sized portions so you will won't leave hungry. Their hollandaise sauce is great and the way they make the eggs for the eggs benedict is perfect.
The hashbrowns and all that are a little plain, so you will have to add salt and pepper to your taste. Otherwise this is a good ma and pa establishment and it's always great to support local.
5 stars for Jim's Cafe being good at what it is. A nice, basic cafe. Nothing fancy. Prompt happy service. Food always comes hot as soon as it is ready. This means one person may get served before another at the same table. This is no problem, we just use the first plate as a sampler until the second arrives. Good for simple breakfast, sandwiches and burgers. We like to support our local businesses.
