Review Tre Galli Gelato Caffe - New Westminster

Came here for ice cream with my kid. Service was friendly, but our drinks were disappointing, and the gelato was hit-and-miss: my panna cotta was the hit, and my son's lemon raspberry was the miss, unfortunately. I thought he was being picky, and tried it, myself. We're both fans of sour things, but agree lemon gelato should be sweet-and-sour, while this was rather bitter-and-sour. Poor value for money, as well. We were unfavourably impressed, all told, even though the panna cotta gelato really was fantastic. Edited to add a star for classy proprietor who accepts criticism with grace, and also because that panna cotta gelato really is amazing.

I often have paninis here for lunch and they're great! I highly recommend the Godfather with pesto. This place also has its own seating area which is surrounded by windows and therefore much brighter than the main food court. Great place to eat and enjoy the sunshine.

Couldn’t try the pizza but if its as fabulous as the ice cream…. Best Ice cream i’ve had here and I’ve tried a lot! This is tasty, luscious cold and soft. Service was fine, wish we could have had more, hopefully another time.

The owner looks pretty picky to customer. She just say 'what?what? What?'. There was no place for icecream since I was with kid.so I had no choice. But I do not want to spend moeny here at all. Gelato price is pretty high.

The size of smoked salmon quiche was bigger than I thought…it was similar size of my hand. Anyway it was yummy, thank you

I believe this place has new owners. It used to be very efficient. Now the staff has to weigh out every single scoop and cone making the wait time excruciatingly long. We waited around 20 minutes for 2 child cones that cost over $12.

long wait for an average drink 🤷‍♀️ they also forgot to sweeten it and didn't apologize. maybe the gelato and food is better than their service and wait times?

This place was right next door to Wildrice Restaurant and we decided to check it out. No disappointment here. Great tasting Gelato and service was good. We had our desert on the outside patio over looking the Fraser River and it was a perfect setting. If your ever in New Westminster by the river come try this guys out!

Apparently it’s too much to ask for a glass of water from the staff here. She looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for it and then made me wait while she finished restocking the cups. And yes, I did purchase two coffees and a muffin before asking for water. Very rude service.

Tried 2 scoops of their espresso ice cream at around 6pm and gave me a hard time sleeping. LOL. But the ice cream was creamy and good. Looking forward to try other flavors in my next visit.

• located at the Quay
• extremely price $6 for a scoop of gelato on a waffle cone, I guess with costs to run a business its the right amount to charge
• pay first before asking for samples and pick your choice
• I didn't like it, was just ok
• coffee must be good although I did not try it

So many fantastic flavours! We had three scoops each which was HUGE (pink grapefruit, passion fruit, and guava in one dish and dark chocolate, vanilla, and Italian butterscotch in the other). Absolutely delicious and fresh!

Only had the gelato here. Had a two scoop cup they don't skimp on the scoops so they are a good size. Had the stracciatella and the panna cotta. Really amazing flavour on both but the fruit flavours are even better still. You buy your tickets first then wade through the chaos to the ordering counter. It's fast once you can make it to the counter and the staff are super efficient and friendly. Also uses recyclable cups if you are eco minded.

This area is my go to area for movies. I was waiting for batman vs superman. I felt a little tired and needed a quick pick me upper. I found this great Caffè with gelatos and they do Italian style coffees.

I ordered a small London fog. For people that do not know I thought I'd share this tip with you. Do not I repeat do not, sip it until you've waited a couple minutes for the tea bag to work it's flavor. Mine tastes wonderful. It's like a warm hug from mom lol. I would definitely recommend this here. I'll come back to try their cappuccino and latte.

Super legit Italian cappuccino found here!!! I love this place. It's complete even with the cute marble cafe tables and iron chairs. It's quite the gem in the New Westminster Quay Public Market. I've also has their panini and it was pretty tasty too. They also have lots of interesting gelato flavour. But my favourite thing is the cappuccino 😊

Yummy food. It cost $12 for a scoop of strawberry gelato and a salvatore panini. A little costly but worth it for the taste. Service was super friendly and prompt. I will definitely be coming back, especially to try the affogato!

Good gelato, bad coffee. Their gelato is the perfect complement to a stroll at the quay. The coffee is weak and bitter and the espressos are of starbucks quality (i.e. generic). Staff are welcoming.

Yummy coffee. Personable staff and delicious Americano coffee. Had a gelato one day and must use will power each time I go for cafe for it was so good I must stay away from it as pushes blood sugar too high. Wonderful cafe.

Best latte ever. Went in with some friends and our kids, and there were lots of options to please! Amazing hand made gelato flavours (including salted caramel, pomegranate, lemon meringue, espresso and MUCH more), and the best vanilla latte I've had. Delicious breakfast wraps as well and my 4 year old swears by the bubblegum gelato. Great view of the river. Will definitely visit again in the summer!

Great coffee/gelato shop!. Just had a great espresso at Tre Galli (and I am picy about my coffee!) I enjoyed the view (watching the tugs and other action on the river) enough I decided to stay for a cup of drip coffee and a panini- both were equally good! I look forward to returning on a warm day to get a gelato and stroll along the boardwalk. Great food, location, and proprietors.

Coffees are too small and really should make sure the cups are in good condistion before you put anything into them my was all bent could not even put a lid on it. Have not tried the food yet so I will write a full review then.

They have great selections of Gelato that you can choose from regular to specialty flavors. It was very creamy and yummy! It also comes with a waffle chip on top.

Tre Galli Gelato Caffe is located at the River Market in New Westminster Quay, and after an unpleasant meal at Re-Up , we headed across to the shop. I believe this is the only gelato shop in New West too. The prices include tax and are $3.50/child, $4.10/single, $5.15/double and $6.50/triple. Furthermore, there are take home containers available as well. Some of the flavours include amaretto, passion fruit, chocolate chip mint, blood orange, stracciatella, lemon, french vanilla, pear, kiwi lime, greek yogurt, blueberry, banana chocolate chip, pineapple, black sesame, panna cotta and tiramisu. Before grabbing some gelato, we came here for a frappe while having a meal at Re-Up . Surprisingly, despite sitting right in front of the caffe with no line up (at the moment), the male cashier dropped our drink to the other side (presumably where the drink pick up area is) without mentioning it to us. Comparing the customer service to Re-Up , it was pretty… not welcoming or friendly. MOCHA FRAPP

With warmer weather on the forecast, I’m starting to think about gelato. Creamy, delicious, cold gelato. Located at the New Westminster River Market, Tre Galli Gelato Caffe has a great selection of artisan gelato. Opened for a little less than a year, (June 2012) they have a simple menu of paninis, pizza, coffee and of course, gelato. Their location is ideal: big glass doors open to the pier for plenty of outdoor seating and great river views. Their gelato is so creamy, and it comes in some great flavours. Some must tries are: Pomegranate Salted Caramel Peanut Butter and Jam I also liked the details: Each scoop comes with a homemade waffle chip. If you’re looking for something a tad warmer, try their affogato coffee – a scoop of your gelato of choice and a shot of espresso. Heaven in a cup. Follow them on Twitter: @ tregalligelato

Since they just opened, it was quite busy, but by 12pm there were definitely more customers. They sell the u
