Review Cockney Kings Fish & Chips (new West) - New Westminster

Really enjoyed our time here yesterday. Quick service and friendly staff. The fish and chips were certainly delicious from the fish batter, to the coleslaw, to the freshly made fries! Likely the best one compare to the one I’ve been going to for years! We ordered the calamari dinner and small plate of fish and chips. Also a great place for affordable all you can eat fish and chips! Would come again and this time I will try their fish tacos!

Great restaurant for fish. I ate combo dinner with cod and haddock and it tastes nice and fresh. I often visit for all you can eat and mostly delicious but sometimes fish is dry. However, price is reasonable. Staff is so kind as well. I love this place. WITH BEER RECOMMENDED

All you can eat fish and chips every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. $14.95 including pop is one good deal! Friendly staffs and clean dining room just make it so much better. Plenty of free parking out front is another bonus.

Seriously the best Cid and halibut and chips we have ever had. The seafood soup was OK. They did forget the housemade Tarter for our takeaway but they did have little packets inside the bag.

Good 'ol fish and chips done well. Not at all greasy. The deep fried oysters we're good too. All COVID-19 safety measures in place. Good service.

Came here for a Sunday lunch and didn’t have to wait that long to be seated. We both ordered Cod which was quite good! The batter for the fish was really nice, and not too battery, too runny. Would come here again for the fish. The chips on the other hand were a little bland, soft and didn’t taste fresh. Not very crispy either. Did not really eat mine. The coleslaw on the other hand was really good! We waited around 20+ minutes for our check, which was a little too long. The servers didn’t seem to pay much attention, not even offering to refill the “bottomless” pop. No service after they asked us how the food was once but walked by several times and we tried to get their attention. We also stacked up our plates and cleaned our table a bit to make it look like we were ready to go. Overall, food wasn’t bad, but the service was subpar so I wouldn’t dine in here again, maybe takeout.

My husband is super picky when it comes to fish and chips, and this was his favourite by far. Great light batter, clean halibut taste and everything was hot and fresh. Poutine was tasty and the battered dogs were great too! Highly recommend.

I haven't been here in years but glad we visited again. This review comes in the middle of the no indoor dining restriction. However, the patio here is open. Dress warmly. The service is quick and friendly and there is constant pick up and take away orders as well. We ordered calamari, fish and chips of course and poutine'd some of the chips. Solid food and prob best fish and chips around. Do yourself a favour and stop by, you won't regret it!

Based on my exoerience. We are regular costumers. Used to be very good and reasonable serving portion. Now Something changed. Smaller portion and fish fried with different batter that makes the fish dry. So disappointed�

In all the years I have been eating here, never had a bad meal. Love popping by for poutine, cod, chips (and they are proper chips tasting close to homemade), or a batter dog, or any combination of the same. Oh, and best poutine in the lower mainland and their steak and mushroom pies are scrumptious 🍺😜❤️

The food was excellent as was the service. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place 😊

By far the worst dining experience of my life. Many horrible things happened with our server but what set this visit over the edge was when she yelled across the patio at us that the plum sauce and gravy would come with our main dishes after asking if we could get it with our appies. It was extremely embarrassing for the entire patio to hear her yelling across it at us. The server seemed to be thrown onto the patio area with no support. Drinks were late, food orders for a lot of people seemed to be wrong, and nothing seemed to be coming out on a timed schedule like would happen at other restaurants. After our meal I overheard some of the other servers talk about how she was training. She had absolutely no excuse to yell across a patio at a customer but this makes me wonder about management and how she has been supported in training for this job almost seems like she's been set up to fail. This was my first time here and it will be my last I was beyond upset with this experience and it made us not able to enjoy our meal. After letting the person taking our payment know about our experience the girl was very unapologetic and rude about what we tried to tell her about the meal. There was one gentlemen there that did apologize for the experience but after the second run in with the girl taking payment being rude I don't think we will ever return again. It's really too bad as I was really excited to try this place and possibly add it to one of our favorites to frequent.

This is my go to place when I "need"some cod. The food, staff and atmosphere take me back home to Newfoundland.

Fantastic! I will definitely be back again. It was as good as everyone said it was. The only thing I was not that keen on was the fries - they seemed a little overcooked, otherwise the food and service were fantastic. Except for the fries, superior to C-Lovers! C-Lovers' tartar sauce is too bland.

I went 2 days ago, it was busy, but service is good, As the restaurant was packed. Food is OK. Price is good , it is worth to go and try. I give my thumbs up.

The coleslaw was delicious and the fountain pepsi was 5/5. Will go again. Best patio in Columbia Plaza for sure.

Best fish and chips in Town! In new Westminster and there is another on Hastings. Very liteley battered , not greesey,great menu. enjoy!!

Having lived in the UK for 5+ years and ha Inc had fish and chips at least a couple of time a month, this ranked right up there with my local chippy in Bourton-on-the-Water. Will be back for more on my next trip to BC.
