UP - Lots of menu options, friendly staff and decent prices.
DOWN - Small floor space so tight seating.
OUT - A pretty bumpin place for the size of it. Our food was pretty standard quality, but nothing to complain about. Large portions for the price point.
Great fry up breakfast. Excellent breaky for those mornings craving a good ol fry up breakfast. Staff is incredibly friendly with great service.
Heard the eggs Benedict was good here. They aren't anything special. It was mostly seniors.
Good Breakfast. We enjoyed the breakfast the owner checked if we enjoyed the meal
L love their food, we eat there every Saturday morning and usually get the same thing because its so good! I get a clubhouse sandwich on gluten free bread and my hubby gets the duke point breakfast. I always recommend people eat there, it has great home cooked food, amazing super friendly staff (if there's a mistake their always quick to fix it and offer a solution like not charging u for something to make up for it) the also have good gluten free options since I am celiac. I Definitely say try kellys kitchen! Its our go to place!
Fabulous breakfast!. Finally somewhere to go for breakfast in Nanaimo!! Fabulous food and amazing service and prices.
My special order is a 3-egg omelette with sausage, mushrooms and cheese...they really load it up. The homemade hashbrowns are incredible!!!
Friendly and warm atmosphere; great food.. We followed the owners and staff of the Husky House Restaurant to their new digs, called Kelly's Kitchen Cafe, on Bowen road, simply because we like them and we enjoy the home-cooked meals they serve. Leith seems to have found his second wind -- meals coming from this new kitchen have improved, if that is possible! The staff is warm and friendly, the service is great, and it is inspiring to see the entire staff made the move together.
Good, basic diner breakfast. Arrived as the place opened and watched it fill within 10 minutes! Good portions. Good coffee. Dated but clean decor. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. I second the comment that toast is slathered in butter (not necessarily a bad thing). Felt pressured to leave as soon as my food was done - the server topped up my coffee and mentioned the line outside.
Have been going here for sometime when I know I'm going to get a really good meal. Today was no different.
I ordered the Duke Point which goes for 16.50, comes with bacon, ham and sausages, hashbrowns and two eggs and toast. I ordered an extra egg and cut everything up before I took the picture. Food was exceptional.
As some say they lavish the bread with more butter than normal so be aware to say something if that's not your thing. My only issue is they're a little slow on supply refills of water. The place can be a bit echoey due to the design of the building.
The staff are friendly and you can tell they enjoy working there.
I have been coming here since they were husky house downtown for a total 17 years… Nothing has changed still the best burger you’ll ever have in BC. Best breakfast/lunch location on the island by a lot. When I come to the island it’s my first and last stop prior to departure. Greatest place on earth!
Was really excited to try this place due to the positive reviews. We had to wait to get in, and it took a long time to get our food, but when it arrived it was amazing. Definitely our new favourite breakfast place!
My club had turkey scraps which had some bones. And the soda was from a can. Not my favorite. My husband did enjoy his burger.
Food was good. It wasn't overly-fancy but you got a lot for the price which is certainly something I appreciate. The hash browns weren't the best, but aren't a deal breaker given how much else came on the plate.
Eggs Benedict were perfectly poached soft boiled eggs, super creamy.
Excellent eggs bennie really good food service is a little bit slow but it is worth the wait
Had a great breakfast. Went with friends to hang out and bs. Great service and food. Definitely going back.
