Exceptional location and customer service. For such a remote place, it was nice having good food options and a clean room. Wifi was slow at our room, though the lodge was booked fully out so it was probably strained. Located right on Muncho Lake, which is so beautiful. The lodge has flight-seeing and other plane services, inquire with them, as we didn't use any of that Don't forget to arrive before 10pm to gain access to a room!
Travelling along the remote Alaska Highway, food and lodging can be scarce. We stumbled upon the Lodge and went in for breakfast.
What a beautiful spot! The log-construction lodge is magnificent and the meal was delicious, plus the service was friendly and helpful.
If I’m lucky enough to travel back along this route, I will make a point of stopping at this stunning place - hopefully to stay for a few days.
The cabins are great although parking could be improved. Most cabins don’t have a parking spot so you have to move your vehicle after offloading. This is the best place to stop along the Alaska Highway (97) between Watson Lake and Fort Nelson. Food is good although I recommend the takeout menu over the restaurant simply for convenience. The restaurant requires a reservation and it’s a bit pricy for what it is. Had the worst steak of my life here but hey it’s not a steakhouse so it was my mistake lol. Otherwise it’s a great place with friendly staff. This was our second stay. Get a cabin instead of a room in the main lodge!
Northern Rockies Lodge was amazing. The pictures don't do it justice and the staff was on top of it like a well organized team. I would definetly come back even if there were a ton of other choices. The views from the lodge were something you'd pay twice as much for anywhere else. Not to mention how beautiful the lodge itself is with storys and trips from other amazing people posted on the walls.
